Yea our issues with the colors is, what "makes" them elite. So we had to look into their stats for that. We will do a lot more digging and collecting data as I am a sucker for pretty data tables :D
155 hours after watching this video - my additions would be: 1. Origin doesn't matter very much, and neither do any of the "I'm -50% bad at learning (crafting skill)" - you're going to put them to work so much for so long, and (ideally) you'll have so many of them that the speed they learn won't matter. 2. When looking at skill caps for Camp Workers, look for Tribesmen who have the most values over 90, rather than looking for ones that have a single value at 120. The difference between having a cap of 90-99 and 120 in rarity is a LOT, but the difference in utility is...5-10% - in that one value they have at 120. EXAMPLE: One of these are objectively better in practice than on paper Mining: 91 Kiln: 97 Weaponsmithing: 91 Armorsmithing: 96 - VS - Mining: 87 Kiln: 89 Weaponsmithing: 120 Armorsmithing: 84
@@TiiaPlaysStuff Even if you use the "YOU HAD ONE JOB!" 😀method, the time you spend Deterring and Discarding your way through camps to find those 120s in that one job you need is ultimately going to get you, what...5% increase or 6% or something like that (I don't have it open to check at the moment) for that last bonus box? I'll take 95% of the output for 5% of the time - especially if I can stick that person on one "production chain" and cluster all their stuff in one spot. Curse you, Pathfiniding AI!!!!) But I can go to basically any camp and find 2 people with multiple 90+ option Proficiencies flexibility to them and have them on the job (whichever are their strong suits) in 15 minutes. I don't have to (as someone on the Soulmask Discord was grumbling about) go through 40 Barbarians to find 3 I want to keep... Generally, I'll keep 3 out of 5. They're not THE BEST at one thing, but they're REALLY GOOD at 5-7 things...
Thank you for making this video. This part of the game had me scratching my head a lot. It's so important to understand this part, but got lost in it every time
thnx for the vid finally a simple and compact vid about the npc's skills especially workers , lots of vids about fighters and skills not so much about workers but i always thought porters was more for armor bc my novice porter has higher armor then my master craftsman but maybe i was just unlucky with my craftsman
Do we know what exactly what causes traits to turn from negative to positive or simply acquire a new one? I got a new trait when I leveled up a tribesmen, but it was hard to tell looking back if his mood and recognition was high or low if the level from the character triggered it or leveling the proficiency. There's so many factors on this simple mechanic. If it's character level finding a level 1 tribesman will be best because there are more chances then a level 50 tribesmen.
Don't forget you can also deter all of the invaders that attempt to invade other NPC tribe's (Flint, Claw, Fang) barracks -- the 'invaders' are a mix of claw, flint, and fang but they go by another name I think Exiled Rebels or Exiled Plunderers or something like that.
Great video! You mentioned that you can trade an NPC to another tribe member if it's better for their playstyle. How can we do this? I tried to do it, but I didn't manage to.
It's the last point in their menu (not dismiss, it's below). But I think your friend needs to be online. I sometimes have the menu and sometimes don't.
Does anybody know how to get the body paint unlocked for other colors because ive recruited about 30 outcasts with green body paint and have not unlocked it yet. Same with hair colors, recruited many with red and orange but nothing has unlocked
Is there a way to change your tribesmen appearance when you control them ? It's a shame there is a character creation screen if you're not able to play it through the whole game.
Wow, you have a whole clan Dominatrix! I thought I was good with a handful. It also never occurred to me that you want to take over an NPC to be your primary character. I didn't realize the limitations on skill/mastery caps. I'm kinda partial to my starting character...
When you possess them, press O, click on masteries and then click on the one you wanna use instead and press Space to lock in your choice. If it doesnt have a good one, you mioght have to level them further to unlock more choices.
A Craftsman with high proficiency cap (120+) in armor crafting. In the best case also no negatives that make him learn slower. Perception will give you more chance for extra output while Agility will make him craft faster. I usually try to go for output.
Some of them have a clan ability on the G button that heals people. I had one that used bandages on people and one that used plant essence. My hunter right now can heal people with plant essence.
higher level means they have higher stats to begin with so I would always get as high level as possible but also check that the other stuff fits. I had to dismiss a level 34 gigachad hunter for being devious heart III.

awesome guide here, btw what is the highest tier icon badge in tribesmen is it the Gold or the Red? cuz I'm not sure what is.

What levels do they loose their negative perks or gain new ones?
they can loose negatives and gain positives. In our first run, our starter crew ended up with no negatives.
Every 10 levels, I've noticed they have a chance. The higher rarity ones are more likely to do it.

They do eventually. We are still looking for the trigger that makes them level
If its possible, obviously only if they‘re in a good mood, ty tho!
I'm wondering if we are actually an evil god and possesses host that cannot die once masked, is why the intro shows them trying to execute us?
Really interesting theory. We might get more lore on that.

At least not in early and mid tier. There might be something uncraftable that you can only find later on but I have not seen anything yet.
Potential question. (Nothing in Google) White is the worst and red is the best. What's the order of in-between? What's gold? Thank you.

have you provided food of several categories for them in the table?
