I started with a 13" iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and now am typing this comment on an M4 14" Max MacBook Pro. The iPad was my gateway to MacOS. Still use my iPad but ran into too many bottlenecks to be able to make it work comfortably. Appreciate your content man!
I’d always go iPad over Mac everyday of the week, I do love the Mac but the iPad offers so much versatility with everything I do. I even went as far to replace my iPad Pro M4 with my iPad Mini 7
My main thing is editing for RUclips with Camtasia and I’m really not sure I could do that on iPad? I’m so used to doing tedious editing with my mouse….would any of that be possible on iPad Pro?
I am constantly searching for those comparisons and in the end - I always come to the conclusion that they are different devices for different use cases. I am a huge ipad guy :D I sold my old macbook like 6 years ago and went ipad - now i got an macbook air M2 and an ipad pro 2018 - i dont need both of them… i barely touched my mac -now recently i started playing bit more with the mac and i also love it - its two different work flows - you can basically do everything on both but its always a rethinking and learning process. I got used to the ipad so much that mac’s overload me - and my iPad is so much more - i love to do handwritten journals on it - i read books on it etc. and than i see man mac and think „you are so beautiful“ :D i am a tech freak - i exactly would know that if i am upgrading to the M4 ipad my macbook would silently rip :D but also I dont want to upgrade for that price tag - they come both with pros and cons - this comment helped no one :D the ipad makes me feel way more creative than using a mac…
I am with your wife. I build websites with HTML, Javascript, PHP, MySQL etc, and on the Mac or Windows I can use something like AMPPS or XAMMP to set up local web-servers and databases. Nothing, not even Xcode will be able to go to that extreme. I can use various code editors, but there's nothing for the iPad that will run a local web-server and database that runs PHP, HTML, etc, etc. Once the iPad can do that, I could be completely iPad based, even with my photography, Lightroom Mobile is good enough on the iPad. Photoshop has a long way to go, but Affinity Photo or others are better at the moment. Someone needs to look into migrating AMPPS over to iPad, and then I'll be very happy.
I need help! For a laptop i will mostly used it for presentation ppt not a heavy user, more like media consumption, watching youtube, Netflix. Im stuck between a macbook air m3 16gb ram(1150$) or an ipad air and a windows laptop(600$+500$). Which one should i go with?
The reason why I’m gonna Go for an iPad Pro over a MacBook Pro is because of cellular connectivity and the tandem oled display. The display itself is a mile over the MacBook Pro and ofc once you go oled you can’t go back. The cellular connectivity is better than to have a hotspot hinder your iPhone’s battery health while using a MacBook. That’s honestly why I would go for an iPad. I’ll either buy a m2 Mac mini for stuff my iPad wouldn’t be able to do which is VERY minor.
I really hope apple brings at least Apples own IDE coding software to iPad Pros, Xcode. In hopes for next year IOS19? But highly doubtful. I also want them to add the ability to manually eject SSDs and a larger battery to the iPad Pro, which is noticeable on taxing programs such as AAA games Apple if you see this iPad Pro Hardware have 12-16gb RAM, 2x Type C ports Software, Eject SSD for Files app, Xcode program/ App, and mostly please add/allow snapping more apps to sides. I’d like to see at least the ability to snap 4 x apps, so we can choose like 1 large ,2 x halves ect.

For content consumption then definitely iPad. Plus you can create documents and presentations on the iPad as well

If iPad Pro was at least 14 inches, I would use it instead of my Mac. I am very particular about having bigger screens. That's me, personally.
