      Yeah, it sparks up the Silver Can motor :-) Thanks, Raúl! Nice and easy repair. Might never be as pretty again but ready for some more runs.

    If you're not breaking stuff, you're not having fun. You are having fun that's what counts, you fixed the body very well too. Looking forward to your next video.😎

      Thanks, my friend, and yeah, if one wants to run and have fun one needs to take some casulties :-)

      Thanks! Easy and without smelly shoe goo. Hot glue works good, maybe not as good, but a lot healthier to use inside the house I think :-)

    Great run Mikael! The Suzuki looks good on the LiPo, a good little power boost. Ahh - those side mirrors are always the first to go - only have one each on my two minis - and I never bothered fitting them to my Fiat 500 because I knew they wouldn't last! I like the way you repaired the split in the body - never knew those tapes were available - but I do always use the hot glue gun - very versatile and useful for many RC related repairs. Looking forward to that speed run! :-)

      @NordicRC  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks, Mark! Yeah, got an XB Fiat 500 body on the way too, and I think I'll take the side mirrors off before I run it with that one. So I'll use the Swift body for the real runs and repiar it untill it falls completely apart. Then it can have the Fiat body on the shelf between the runs :-) Yeah, I like the hot glue. I think most Americans use the show goo but it's not easy available here, and I do most of my repairs inside the house so hot glue is a lot less smelly and more healthier I think. Yeah, I have good experience with the mesh repair tape and then the alloy reinforcement tape. Works wonders. Speed test coming up. Looking forward to the next speed runs of yours. Rob mentioned the idea of testing your M-01s and M-03s. Would love to see that.

      Yes, Mikael - agree about the hot glue being a 'clean' product for use inside - I don't see that shoo goo in the UK either! The Fiat 500 is a nice shell and will look good on the shelf!
      As for the Mini M01 speed run, that one is already in the can - I will edit a video soon - the speeds are very interesting! Need to get the Fiat M03 on the road for a comparison with the M01. I just released the Bruiser run first, trying to mix it up a bit so it's not all Minis on my channel, although I would enjoy it myself! Hope all is well with you and yours, enjoy the end of your weekend :-)

      Just got the XB Fiat 500. Looks good on the M-03M. Ahh, yeah, saw the notification about your Bruiser. Gonna watch it later this day. Have a great remaining Sunday evening too Mark!

    Nice fast run. The shell didn't hold up too well though. But at least you got it fixed. Must have a look for those tapes. I've been using leftover bits of poly and epoxy for my repairs. Cheers for the info 👌👍

      @NordicRC  6 лет назад

      Yeah, it was a fun day. GPS reading coming up tomorrow. Would be cool to see you and Mark’s GPS Reading on the M-01s and M-03 to compare. Yeah, the net repair tape really works wonders. I use hot glue with it, but be careful not to burn the paint. Most Americans use show goo instead, which is more flexible, but hard to come by for us Europeans and I think hot glue is less smelly and more healthier. So the S-grip tires you’ve been talking about ... had a look around ... are these the same as the ‘M-chassis Super Grip Radial tires’? Like the 60D Tamiya #53254?

    • @robbrennanrc
      @robbrennanrc 6 лет назад +1

      Yes those are the ones. Just had a quick look on the web and they have gone up a bit in price though. We'vr donr some speed runs with Mark's M-01s but still need to do the M-03s.

      Rob Brennan Thanks for the info, Rob! Yeah, pretty pricey. I think I will wear up the stock ones completely before changing tires. Tried to fit some of my normal 1/10 on road wheels/tires but they are huge compared to the M-chassis size. Looking forward seeing the M-01 speed runs and also the M-03s sone time :-)

    😊👍pretty swift little thing! Don't believe the body cracked from that small of a tumble though. Best stuff for body repair do what you did with tape and coat the back with shoe goo or goop glue 😊👍

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  6 лет назад

      Yeah, not bad for a cheap RTR. Got the GPS reading coming up on Tuesday. Shoe goo etc. is hard to come by in my country. Might order some from abroad one day to try it out, but a coating of hot glue like I use here is just as effective I think, and less smelly and more healthier. Don't want to use that shoe goo inside my house :-) No, the cracks didn't happen with that little tumble as I write in the video. Only the side mirror broke at that moment. But when I did the run around the track (as seen in the last video) I happened to drive it one handed straight into the side wall a couple of times while trying to film. Casulties of video creators :-)

    Nice run and repair. The body is very thin. Mine broke pretty fast too. You should have strengthened the whole body for future runs :)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks. Yeah, never had a Tamiya body brake on the first run before. But usually I'm running the trucks and buggies and the a-arms and wheels provide a lot of protection to the body. Good idea, Charlie, yeah, some more reinforcement on the sides and rear would be good for future runs.

      Thanks! yeah, just like you said. Quite amazing wear after two batteries. And all the other tires I have is too big for this M-03M. Have to go searching :-)

  • @hollyhillrc

    The lipo certainly gives it some extra speed. It's a shame about the body, but I guess these things are going to happen. I will use your repairs to strengthen some of my bodies. Thank you for the part numbers. I bought a hot glue gun recently but haven't used it yet. Now I know what my first job with it will be. I reversed my Lowride Pumpkin into a brick wall and scratched the new chrome bumper on it's first run. I also rolled it and put a little scratch on the roof. I was annoyed with myself for being so careless, but I have to accept that RC's do not stay perfect if you run them. Also I have to accept that I am a bad driver at speed ha ha ha.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  6 лет назад

      Holly Hill RC I have started to accept both things about me as well, he he. I guess the rule is that if one doesn’t want scratches or breaks on a particular model one shouldn’t run it. I remember spending hours and hours on my Monster Beetle hard body, and it only took me one minute to scratch it up. But once the first scratches appear one will accept more easily :-) With this one it was easy to accept, as I already had another body in the mail and these are XB bodies which I haven’t painted myself. About the repair, be careful and quick with the hot glue, as it can melt the paint. I use a little cheap glue gun which I think produces lower temperature than the more professional ones. I think most Americans use this shoe goo instead, as it is not hot and more flexible. But hard to come by over here, and I don’t think it’s the most healthiest thing to use. The repair mesh tape and glue/goo is enough for reinforcement. The alloy tape is more to protect the paint from rubbing etc.

      Thanks, Chris! Ahh, some damage is some times good, then one isn't that afraid of running it the next time, if it is already broken :-) Oh, I hardly bever use facebook unless connected to the Nordic RC Visions facebook page, but I will check it out. Easier to get hold of me here though :-)
