Goddag, Mikael - I hope this message finds you well! Lovely new Tamiya and a perfect Birthday present! Looks great in motion, cool to see the rear of the car kicking out a little oversteer as well as the more usual FWD understeer. Looks like a blast to drive. Another thoroughly enjoyable video, my friend, happy Sunday! :))
Goddag, Mark! All is well! Yeah, she/they went for my no. 1 wish this year 🙂 And yeah, lot’s of fun with the understeer too. Guess that will change if I change the tires. Stock ones almost no grip. I remember we talked about some good M-chassis tire upgrades - the super grip I believe they are called. Never got around to it back when I got the M-03. But now is maybe the time for it. So much fun to drive. Don’t remember any difference compared to the M-03 though. But will take them both out some day to compare. Have a great rest-of-the-weekend, Mark!
Nice, Mike! Yeah, been a while since I took out my old M-03 so it was great to try the M-05 again. So much fun. And so many great bodies to choose from in the M-chassis line. Thanks a lot for watching!
Thank you, Mattes! Yeah, so much fun with the front wheel drive. The Tamiya Mini Cooper is a piece of art. Would love one of the old ones too, on the M-01 chassis.
Thanks, Chris! Yeah, these on road models are so high geared stock compared to the off road models so even with the silver can they flie compared to the off road.
Looks like a fun small runner. Pretty quick with the stock motor, but guess low weight, high gearing and the torque tuned do their job well. Would look cool with an interior. You could make a driver with long hair and an Accept t-shirt 😀. Great shooting of the box in the beginning of the video, and excellent start if the driving part, where you turn the wheels before taking off 👍.
Hi Jesper! Yeah, these are so much fun. Have you had an M-chassis? No torque tuned in this one. Just the 27T. But yes, with the high gearing it is a lot quicker than most of the off road models. Uhh. Never thought about that, with the driver. What a great idea ... Thanks a lot for watching, Jesper.
I did have a m05 pro some years ago, that I intended to race, but only drove it a few times, before I sold it. Was quite fun though, but I was more dragged by the offroaders.
Happy Birthday Mikael! ( I knew you were younger than me, we’re two years apart). Very nice video for a very nice Suzuki. I hope you’ll soon tell us why she was your number one choice. For my part I also finish the editing of my birthday present, the DN-01 buggy (I’m very happy with it, very good quality). I hope it’s all right for you and your family. Happy weekend to you, mon ami and take care.
Thank you, mon ami Alex! Yes, I'm still a young man, ha ha :-) Congrats to you too! Nice, a DN-01! Would love one of those one day too. Or a TRF 201. or both ... The Tamiya addiction is strong :-) Hope eveything is going good down in the South too.
@@NordicRC The build of the lunchbox was super easy, finished it in around 5 hours since I'm not the fastest builder.😉 But it's really a pure fun machine, cause it's wheelie-ing all the time and I also ordered the 4ws conversion, which allows the LB to turn on a Stamp.
@@NordicRC Well, the instruction has only 15 sides and about 40 steps... But I also trimmed the body within those 5 hours.... But all in all the truck is worth the time.
Superb filming and editing as usual. 👍 I've been tempted by an M chassis, just to build something different, but not one where the battery is the wrong way around. 😂 Perhaps I might try the non-rally Beetle.
Thank you so much, Barry! Uhh, yeah, they are so much fun. I have only tried the M-03 and M-05 with the front wheel drive (m-01-03-05-07). I think all the FWD has the battery this way, but maybe some of the RWD (M-02-04-06) got the battery mounted different.
Nordic RC Visions I had so much trouble with my Optima, trying to stop the battery sliding around. I'd really like a Top Force but I don't know if I could face that grief again. 😖
Nice run on the new Suzuki Swift 2020 mate👍👍 and it on an m05 chassis!? I don't know what's worse tt01, tt02, and m05!!!. Happy Birthday mate, have a good one.
Yeah, such a great body. Decals on bumpers already worn now after the first run and I expect the stock front tires to last only a couple of runs more 😅
Hey what a great present. Very nice looking Swift body. This has made me think that I ought to use my M05 a bit more. I tend to go to off road areas and take the buggies and trucks. You can run the M05 on very short grass as I showed with the video of my Mazda 2. Anyway a very enjoyable video my friend and you'll have to tell us why this was a particular wish. I'm guessing that you have or had the full sized car? Hope you are having a good Sunday. Too hot here. It's about 30c which is too much for me!
Yeah, so happy for it I build it right away. Forgit how quick it was with no cameras 🙂😅 Yeah, I tend to go off road more too. I haven’t even finished the TA-02 Porsche yet. But think I will try some more on road models. Lots of fun. Uhh, you can? Check out the end of the video where I tried to run this one in short grass. Didn’t go anywhere 😂 Maybe tires and suspension height is different from yours. Ahh, well, your guess is not far off 😉☺️ ... and yeah, very hot here too. Today is a bit better but Friday-Saturday was like being cooked. Too hot for a half-Finnish here too.
@@NordicRC Yeah I saw the grass bit and what you were trying to run it on was longer thicker grass so no chance. The grass where I go gets nibbled short by the horses! Is the reason you like the Swift something saucy like what you might have got up to in one? If that is the reason then I have very fond memories of the Austin Mini Clubman. Not a lot of room for manoeuvres I can tell you! :-)
@@PeteWylieRC Uhh, even shorter grass than in this vid? Must find a lawn with some horses and try it out ;-) Hmm, I think my English is a bit inadequate to understand the sentence with the 'saucy' ... Sauce in a Swift? Googled the Austin. That looks so cool too. Didn't know it was Austin that used to make the Mini Cooper (I only started to get interested in cars recently, mainly due to the RC hobby and Tamiya cars, so my knowledge about cars is as inadequate as my English). The Mini Clubman looks like a Mini Cooper. Or is it different? You must have had a lot of fun with that little nimble beauty. And perfect for an M-chassis too I would say.
@@NordicRC ah now I can teach you a bit more colloquial English 😁 Saucy can mean a few things depending on the context. In the UK it is usually a jokey term refering some kind of sexual activity. You could be getting a bit saucy or watching a saucy movie. If you said something a bit suggestive then a British person might well say 'ooh saucy' in the style of the Carry On movies. There is a British tradition of saucy seaside postcards which were cartoons with some kind of sexual joke or smutty innuendo. Getting back to the Suzuki Swift I was suggesting that you might have got your leg over in one! You know, a bit of how's your father! 😂 The original Mini was made under various brands over the years, Austin, Leyland, Rover. The clubman one had the flat front which was an attempt to make it look more modern. I had the sporty 1275gt one. There is a picture of young me with it on a video I did of updating my M01 Mini which I think you saw. Anyway enough rambling. I'm still trying to find out the spec of my PC. Will let you know 😁
Thank you, saucy legs, Carry On and my father's health ... now I am really confused, ha ha :-) Nice with the Mini. I must revisit that video to make it ring a bell ... :-)
Yeah, well, I provided the ball bearings and steel pinion 🙂 But quick build with the pre-painted body although it required a lot of work still with the details (decals, side mirrors, light buckets).
The M-03 Swift shown in the video is just a standard non-off road M-03 with a rally body. The M-03 is an entirely different chassis compared to the M-05.
When you do these videos could you put a speedometer on them for people trying to get a new car I think that would attract new viewers who are begging in the hobby
It’s a very different chassis. More race like, where the M-01-03-05 is more for the hobbyist who wants a certain scale body (like a Swift etc). I haven’t inspected a M-07 but it looks more complicated and more expensive to produce. Some of the Tamiya chassis also holds a special place among collectors. That’s why the TA-02 will never stop production I think, even though they have a lot of newer TA chassis’.
I was so pleased when Tamiya announced this model as I own a new Swift Sport...in burning red. So, imagine my disappointment when Tamiya decided to paint it Yellow !! Now I have to wait (again) until they bring out the bodyshell in clear !
Uhh, yeah, I can imagine. So cool you have one. I have a brand new Swift - but without any ‘sport’ in it 😅 I Hope Tamiya will get a clear body out so you and others with a Sport can paint it the color of their own choice. Wish they would make a normal Suzuki Swift body (new one like this one).
I think they are the same. It's just the type of body and wheel base option. They can be build S(hort), M(edium) L(long). The Swifts I got is a M-03M (Medium wheel base) and a M-05L (long wheel base) but you can build an M-03L and an M-05M too.
