It's nice for a refresher for sure. Sometimes you have been doing something a certain way for so long you forget some of the basic things. I myself have played for hundreds of hours and these are nice reminders of little things
You really want to be the megacorp when you're playing xenophile. The main benefit of xenophile is the +20% trade which can't be provided by repetitive tech. Also you get yourself into lots of trade deals due to your excellent relationship with xenos. Definitely use that to build branches. The energy income isn't worthwhile but the buildings are fairly good. There's no repetitive tech for +global amenities, +diplomatic power and +fleet size.
@@StarboyXL9 AI don't know how to build, so the energy income in a high pop planet is around 30/mo. The 1000 investment is paid off in 30 months. Not incredible but still acceptable. No need to build branch on any planets with less than 25 pops anyways, so in a few years the investment pays off. BTW, alternatively you can use that 1000 energy to build 5 private colony ships, so building the branches early is a trade-off. Later on you are rolling in credits so the energy income won't matter anyways. Don't count on human players to act rationally. In an MP game other players will always attempt to invade & purge. Well, what better way to claim dominion over the galaxy than to let the alien think he holds the galaxy then supplant him slowly until you are the sole dominion over the galaxy?
I've had games where I've rushed to build an Outpost at a border so I can 'block' the AI expanding, only to have them fly through it and build Outposts in the gaps I left behind. Closing borders can stop that, but they won't like you for it. Bonus points if you close borders to them whilst they have ships flying in your territory. If you're going to intentionally upset them, might as well make the most of it.
Imo the positive effects from blocking borders far outweigh the negative opinion gained from it. It's not that much, I believe 20 from you closing borders and 20 from them responding with closed borders. An envoy can easily 'restore' 40 opinion. I always play with closed borders to everyone until I have closed all the gaps that they could potentially reach. And if you see a construction ship flying through your territory, simply close your borders again and the problem is solved.
Just started a run as a xenophobic militant spiritualist, I did not realize how hard that would cause diplomatic ability to tank. Almost always play as xenophiles with either materialist or egalitarian, and this has been interesting thus far.

One thing i am struggling is the influence i am around 2213 but still couldnt get an edict, because i am using influence to build starbases .. also completely forgot about empire sprawl and no clue how to manage that
Try to get some rivals but if you still can't get enough influence for edicts thats fine And for empire sprawl you want the administration center building which provide bureaucrat jobs who give admin cap
You are playing without any DLC and you have found about as much relic sites as I do with all DLC (including Ancient Relics one) since Stellaris is in 2.7.* version... Seriously, since 2.7 rolled out I only sometimes get a notice that some of alien empires have one relic site and that is it.
Expansion is way more important at this stage IMHO. Admin capacity not so much. I even replace the admin building on the homeworld with another lab once I've filled the empty building slots (typically with labs). The penalty for exceeding the cap by a few points is manageable, and you don't get any bonus when cap > sprawl, so you might as well just live on the edge. Keep shipping pops off to your 2nd world until it hits 10, put 2 admin buildings on it, then turn it into a bureaucratic world. As the building slots on this world unlock naturally, you can add more admin buildings with the occasional happiness building to more or less keep up with the growing sprawl.
Question. To collect trade from a colony does the system that has the colony need a starbase with a trade hub in it, or does the system just need a trade hub in range?
I have a start I saved (2.7 All DLC UNoE 1kstars) which starts two jumps away from the Tiyanki special new home system... p.s. I recall having a game where I was certain I started building a Space Station 1st...but ended up losing the system. So, Build Speed might matter for making Stations.
