VW is one of the fastest growing automakers in the world. 5.7 million units sold in 2012, four of the ten most fuel efficient vehicles sold in the US use VW engines, and VW is one of the best reviewed automakers in the world. It's true that the Touareg is one of the company's worst selling vehicles, which is strange because the Caynne (which is a very close cousin of the Touareg) is Porsche's best selling vehicle, but I think you may be off a little in your comment. The VW era is just beginning.

I think that the era of Vokswagen is over. There still are many backwarded people who still have not got the message though and are still buying these big SUV volkswagen cars unfortunately!
Touareg is a complete fail and that is not strange or odd in any way if you ask me. I have spent some time doing art and I understand the fundamentals of beauty so when I look at a Toaureg it is absolutely ugly and can not compare to any Caynne or even Juke. So when I saw it I just had that impression that it is really over now for VW because there is so much competition now days and if they make more ugly cars like the Touareg than VW ear is over so maybe they should just stick to engines!
