    Incredible! You just did what a hundred different sites couldn’t and that is explain (in fairly comprehensive terms) the the pros and cons of both in a simple and concise manner! Thanks from Japan.

    Are all books on the Apple audio plus readable ?
    Also, if I buy the book once on Apple is it good for life time ?

      Yes and no… theoretically apple will let you have unlimited access, but you still don’t outright own the book, you are paying for the service of streaming it. I can’t remember which but recently a TV streaming service was on the news for taking away movies the customers “bought” because they lost the rights to that media

    The one thing you didn't mention is Whisper Sync. I have Apple Ibooks as well as the audio version of the book but I can't sync them up like Whisper Synch does with Amazon. If there is a way around that please let me know.

    • @kelly_savage
      @kelly_savage  Год назад

      Oh yes! I actually have a separate video about whispersync, but as far as I know there’s no way to do this on Apple Books, will let you know if I find it!

      It’s automatic on Apple. I open my place in books from iPhone to iPad all the time. Worst case scenario if it’s not working for you make a bookmark and that syncs across devices too.

    I have an iPhone. I am very ancient.😂 but due to limited vision at my age, I’m interested into having Brooks read to me. So what is the best solution for my situation? Also, do I need any other devices or products to listen to books and if so, what do you recommend? Thank you so much from anyone who can answer these questions!❤

    • @kelly_savage
      @kelly_savage  Год назад

      In that case I’d probably recommend Apple Books. It will already be on your phone so you won’t need to download anything extra and if you want books read to you just go to the audiobooks section and you can easily purchase books from there, then you just hit play and they’ll be read to you 😊

    Does google play also do audio books? I am thinking of leaving Amazon, because can’t download books via the app, like if wanna read on the go. I’ve noticed the same for Kobo.

    I want an app that lets me import audiobooks from wherever I chose to acquire them. I know that Audible won't do this. Can Apple Books import from external sources. If so, what file format is required?

    Just wanted to point out, Audible does NOT require a subscription to buy audio books. You can buy whatever book you want whenever you want with no subscription needed. I've had an account for over 20 years and have never subscribed to anything and own hundreds of audio books.

    • @kelly_savage
      @kelly_savage  Год назад +2

      How though? When I go onto it now the only option I’m given is to sign up for premium plus not to purchase chase a book outright?

    • @horseypeeps5382

      @@kelly_savage My apologies. I found out it's how I usually buy books through them. I buy my books through the Audible website and not the app. So, I am sure everyone is seeing they can't since the only way (I know to) do it is through the website itself.

    • @kelly_savage

      @@horseypeeps5382 oh I see! I never go onto the website actually so I better go on and see what it says, I think I just find it so much handier not to have to turn my desktop computer on for it!

      @@kelly_savage I would agree with you, the app would be far easier. I've had an Audible account since before they were bought by Amazon (pre-app days) so I suppose old habits die hard. :)

    • @loughrey101
      @loughrey101 5 месяцев назад

      Yep, 💯. you don’t need a subscription or credits to buy audiobooks on audible. Every book can be purchased pay-as-you-go. The subscription is just an option and can be very helpful if an audiobook cost over £15 and you can get it for £7. But you’re not required to take out the subscription. There’s books that Audible sells for only around £3 and some of them were even featured in her video when she showed the website

  • @loughrey101
    @loughrey101 5 месяцев назад +2

    You should have pointed out that if a book costs less than 7.99 your able to buy the book separately as the subscription isn't the only way to buy books. You can buy books on a pay-as- you-go basis too, just like Apple Books. There's many books for less than 3 pounds on the service. Your video doesn't mention that every book has two purchase options, but you imply that the token subscription is the only way to buy books on Audible. you also didn’t mention that another benefit of the audible subscription is that you get 30% off every pay-as-you-go book. So even if a book costs just £3, you will get 30% off that book as an audible subscriber.
    I can only assume that you either didn’t do your research or are trying to make Apple Books look better than it is by not explaining all the many benefits of audible

    Hoopla only allow three books a month. I listen to audio books at work and my car. I go thru several books a week. Which app is the best for price and selection?

    • @saraspangler890
      @saraspangler890 6 месяцев назад

      Libby is through the library and you can get audiobooks from them. The selection is a bit different from Hoopla, but you should be able to find books to borrow and listen to through them.

    • @loughrey101
      @loughrey101 5 месяцев назад

      Libby is the best for you if you go through audio books quickly, and plus it's free. I like all the people because libby only allows you to rent a book for three weeks, but sometimes it can take me a couple of months to finish a book and that is why I like Audible

    Why are these so fkn expensive?! Not only does it cost more than a Netflix subscription ffs, but you only get 1 book / month?! So you're paying $15 per book. It's literally more expensive than buying the physical book. For a digital product (that you're renting, not buying by the way. You don't have ownership).

      The issue with pirated books is that they are downloaded as mp3 files but there's no way to bookmark where you left off like you can with these dedicated audiobook services. instead they are treated like listening to a song on a music player where when you return to the song after listening to a different song it will start from the beginning again. That is a big problem when audiobooks over 20 hours long. That’s why I like to pay for audiobooks as that is an indispensable feature for me. It’s nice to be able to listen to different audiobooks, but when you go back to an older audiobook it’s all automatically bookmarked to where you last left off. That makes the £8 absolutely worth it
