This isn’t spoken about enough. Topical treatments are seen as the “cure all” & while they can help, ultimately if the acne is hormonal, like mine…the hormones need to be managed etc. I take the pill & that’s the only way to control it for me. I get nothing on my cheeks or forehead but from the nose downwards it’s another story! Thanks for sharing this doc 👍

Girlies. Don’t limit yourself to a derm either. This guy is fabulous but my dermatologist couldn’t give a whit about me. If you’re struggling with hormonal acne, GO SEE A GYNECOLOGIST. And make sure to advocate for yourself. There might be an underlying issue like endometriosis or PCOS.

I took BC pills for a good 10 years or so, and still dealt with hormonal acne. Went off the pill last fall. Still having occasional breakouts but not worse than before. Aldactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic(primarily prescribed to treat high blood pressure and edema) which can cause a persons potassium levels to get too high, which can cause cardiac arrhythmia. Hubby and I are trying to conceive (ttc) so I stopped taking the pills 3 years ago.
Unfortunately, that's when all h*ll broke loose on my face and tons of acne appeared on my cheeks, leaving scars after the acne goes away.
I've seen some dermatologists but, because I'm ttc, they said they can't recommend much so that was disappointing as well.
Wearing a mask during COVID didn't help either.
Still trying to conceive so not sure what else I can do. 😥
I figured, I'll give it another 2 years or so and, if family planning fails by then, I'll opt for laser treatments or something 😞

Hello there! I hope you're doing well today. I just wanted to share with you a beautiful verse from the Bible, Ephesians 5:1-2. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. What does this mean? Well, here it is. Specifically, we're to walk in love just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us in his death on the cross. In other words, true imitation of God looks like loving others just as Christ loved others: loving God with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength and loving his neighbors as himself.
