I love love LOVE your videos. Your way of explaining things are perfect for absolute beginners. You make sense. You don't skip crucial parts and your voice is calming and seems very patient. You've already helped me so much and I'm barely starting out in X-Plane 11
Dear Jason. I am new to this and by watching your video I have just learned two methods to build a flight plan: Simbrief and Skyvector. Congratulations for your knowledge and objectivity! Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a question. You put all the waypoints and it's all clear. But what if you approach your destiantion airport on 90 degrees to the runaway? I need to approach straight to the runaway, not perpendicular to it. How to sort this out before starting to fly? You will say add more waypoints? But they are not always in there. For example try to fly from Lanzarotte to Fuerteventura and you won't see many waypoints to direct you to the runaway. What to do in these cases?
How are these courses plotted if all the links aren't in the flight. For instance. I'm looking at flights for KEAR to KDEN. All of them have like 8 waypoints. But only 2-3 are actually listed in the routes.
My apologies, but nothing you say regarding entries into SimBrief works or is even remotely like it is displayed in that website in 2021 with regard to entering a departure or arrival airport. Anyway, why did you not show how to enter new airports, seeing as we spent time looking up airports in the previous step at the Airport Codes website? Again, my apologies if I'm being dumb, but I got zip out of your video explanation.
Hey mate, I was just wondering if you really are allowed to use sky vector for sim use because when I was reading the T&C's, it says: "I will not file plans for non-real flights" and says: "I understand that I will face criminal penalties if I abuse this system"
why you are making more hard time creating a Flight plan??? Why you don't use a direct flight plane from X plane 11???? making it more complicating, most don't have another flight plan than XP.11.
I was doing a lot of reading about this kind of stuff yesterday. If I remember correctly, imagine we didn't have roads and everyone just drove their cars wherever they wanted to. We wouldn't know where other cars were coming from and we'd be heading towards obstacles which we'd need to navigate round at the last moment etc. etc. Obviously, in a plane you are travelling at significantly higher speeds and have to deal with the 3rd dimension where planes could be coming up beneath you or from above. It's a lot more hazardous. So I think all of the flight-planning stuff is there to make for a much safer journey. I think I also read that planes flying east will use an odd numbered altitude (e.g. 30000ft) whereas planes flying west use an even numbered altitude (e.g. 32000ft). This allows for vertical separation between planes which I guess reduces the chance of mid-air collisions.
I like how you really dumb it down for us beginners. thank you. all these other uploaders have no idea what BEGINNER means.

I was looking at RUclips signed out…. Saw this video and had to sign in to give it a like!

FYI, in skyVector you can also click drag the route line to any waypoint/navaid you want.
This video had helped me a lot, thanks (4 years later, I'm noob )

Best video ever..
omg, you are a genius in making complicated things simple
Well done again Jason ,lots of learnng took place here thank you
Very good video...some guys does not worry with the beginners...thans a lot

you deserve a million followers
Damn 3 min but it feels like im watching 50 mins video and know everything in 3 min version
INSTRUCTIONS NOT CLEAR
no suggested flight plans and when i put codes it in it says error: invalid responce
CyplexMC YT same
I would have liked it if he put his next video in the below description

yes but how you then set up the approche for the runway? and how this gonna work with the atc ???
my simbrief does not show the black lines, bug or just bad luck for me or me during something wrong?

You can use it to build a flight plan for your Sim, but not allowed to submit that flight plan. Use Simbrief for that.
thanks!
What if I've got more than 2 way points? It wont let me go to page 3? Is that by design?
Thank you man
That was such an amazing video. Thank you so much. Great explanation. Keep it up :)
Hallo , FSCloud ! wie geht das auf xplane 11 Mac zu installieren ?
Where is the video after this one?
Can somebody put the link here of the video who comes after this one, please
Thanks!
TKS !!
nice video thanks
Ok, what about the fuel..... and x-plane11 doesn't read the fms files from the first website
thanks!!
Thank you
now where is the next Video to put it in a airplane 737-800 or cessna etc....
What do i do next after the flight plan?
he just stops. He tells us how to get a flight plan but does not tell us how to execute
how do you find the "codes" of the departure and arrive airports
A bit late but you just google the airport and there should be the code
Thanks
How do i fill this in on the screen ??
this is how you create flight plan for GPS not FMS/FMC, I need .FMS to .FML converter... please send me the link :)
It keeps saying invalid response
Sky vector is not for simulation

jesus christ , all this for JUST a flightplan ? my god
jup :) its easy when you are doing this alot of time's :D
I dont get it, why not just fly from airport to airport, why all the crazy stuff in between?
Devin Martin in real life it's mainly because of avoiding major airspace

But HOW do we know it’s right, don’t just say it’s right explain how it’s right
It’s supposed to be very simple
Can i use plan from - flightdatabase.com ?
Oh good grief!!
*flown...jerky
ok...I rather not play this game......
thank you
