I saw that tour. I loved Fred's Egyptian-influenced dancing so much and have thought of it many times since. SO GLAD this video surfaced with decent sound (super sharp on the bongos). THANKS for bringing the memory to life. 💖👯♀️
For me at least, part of great RocknRoll is its ability to confuse me, and then to ensnare me. With freaky dancing, collegiate level sensibilities, ancient dating desires, audacious American wigs, mysterious harmonies, and driving rhythm... what's not to LOVE??
Kate is channeling about 100,000 years of law-making, time signature changes, and serious fun, as she does six or eight thousand things at once. It’s like she’s been possessed by some Mesopotamian goddess back from the dead, shades of Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters. And at 1:02 the camera operator became her slave. Love this performance!
The real Mesopotamia has a very intriguing history. So, whenever I read about it and see any artifacts this song comes to mind. Always great vibe and energy!
Nicely done. Doesn't have that deep percusive bass synth at the botton driving it like the studio version, but the singing is superb, as well as the drumming.
the Hammurabi code the most ancient Law code actually from Mesopotamia is dated that old .. much more before the ten commandents or any other law code .. B-52's rule! greatest band ever
That's concentration on Kate's face. It was hard to sing her part while playing a different rhythm on the board. Keith is definitely getting a workout, though. It was even harder on him physically when he became the guitarist. That's probably why he has stopped touring.
This band was so original and incredible. I love them.
Fred is having so much fun here. And when the B 52’s are having fun, we all have fun!!!
Thanks for being such a party band for all these years.
they were so beautiful then,it makes me nostalgic
Woooooorrrrrrd 😁 legend 😃
I love these early videos where Kate moves if she sings OR plays synth bass, but if she does both she is super still and very serious.
She’s badass
the close up of Kate's eyes is necessary and also belongs in an official archive such as the louvre
in the MESOPOTAMIAN department. damm right
Fred's dancing is the best thing ever
I want see Fred and David Byrne in a dance-off.
this level of energy is just beyond
Keith is taking no prisoners on drums.
This is so brilliant, completely nuts but brilliant..
So true
I have been taken by this video for years and still am
Just FREAKIN' AWESOME! The B52s ROCKED!
My FAVE B-52's song of all time!

Saw them that year. 7th row. They are incredible live. No lip syncing. They give it their all when performing.
i love how they used to play all their stuff slightly faster and way harder live back in the ricky days... just fucking shit up!!
I love Kate Pierson in this kick ass song. 🤗😘
Take away the last five words.
This song was so ahead of it's time! 😎😎😎
So, which time did it predate? When did the rest of the world start to make music like this?
Any really behind the times. He he
I've been to Mesopotamia, and there are some ruins there. I don't know if I'd say "a lot." They did lay down the law, though.
I love this song the speed, thats pure adrenaline, love kate n cindy voice, n even more i love cindy, she is my crush
fred was outta sight on that one - and everyone was top game too - love ya
I don't think there is really any aspect of this song which would be easy to perform live. They do an awesome job here.
For me at least, part of great RocknRoll is its ability to confuse me, and then to ensnare me. With freaky dancing, collegiate level sensibilities, ancient dating desires, audacious American wigs, mysterious harmonies, and driving rhythm... what's not to LOVE??
I saw them in Cleveland that year. Most fun at a concert I ever had!!!
Perfect performance. Such energy.
Love the B52s, so individualistic there really is nothing like them. Would have loved to have been at this concert.
This band, beyond their time 🤯
So SO wish that I was old enough see the B-52s live in their pomp! Absolute genius!!!
I was! Max’s Kansas City! Irving Plaza!
Originally produced by David Byrne.
Not surprised. Love both ^^
So much better than the studio version and you gotta love Fred's moves. Terrific harmonies by Kate and Cindy!
Just Yes!
Just wonderful!! Sweet memories!!❤
Before I watch this video....I should read a book!

John Entwistle: "First time?"
It's important that we accurately record such dates in history. 6 or 8000 yrs ago sounds about rite to me.
Or like a hundred thousand years ago something like that 🤷♀️
This guitar is heavy as hell
Noice
It’s perfect ............awesome song
Came here to see the girls do those amazing harmonies live
I wish I could be as cool as Fred!
Fred Schneider is so awesome!
The real Mesopotamia has a very intriguing history. So, whenever I read about it and see any artifacts this song comes to mind. Always great vibe and energy!
Ils sont extraordinaires !!! Avec un tempo un peu plus rapide, ce n'est pas pour déplaire ✌️
In my top 3 concerts of all time!!!
C'était un super groupe !!! J'adore.
Love it...
A stripper, a waffle house waitress, and a science teacher wander into a karaoke night at the bar after a terrible week at work... behold... the B-52s
I wish I could dance like that. He's cutting a rug
love this track
Fred getting downnnnnn
Wonderful

amazing band.......
Love the voices... B52's are so cool ♥
Sick upload! Safe🤘🏾
Fred is such an energetic fella
Wow.
Brilliant!!
6 or 8,000 years ago, they laid down the law! And it's high time to do so again!
the Hammurabi code the most ancient Law code actually from Mesopotamia is dated that old .. much more before the ten commandents or any other law code .. B-52's rule! greatest band ever
They came out in 1970i waa 11
i always thought they had fun performing this song, now i see only pain, gutsy performance.
Yeah, probably brought back flashbacks of the Byrne sessions which were painful supposedly.

holy shit!
Fred is white boy magic.
0:34 Mic got lucky.
Just the best live video ever. Except for Tool.
Fred is dancing 🕺 like a fiend. Smoking 🚬

Paroles précurseusses pourtant d'un Band Génial.
Vous avez fini à y aller en Mésopotamie.
Aujourd'hui ? On dit Irak.
I want to be Kate's microphone.
Before I talk...I should read a BOOK !!
There is one thing I do know:
Das ist so schlimm... das ist schon wieder genial...
Turn your clocks back about 100,000 years, I will meet you by the 3rd pyramid. Nov 7 2021 turn your clock back and hour. #feelthevibration

You should read a book (an atlas).
So much for white people not being able to jam. This is a GREAT live jam session and fantastic dancing and percussions!
Coked out!
Now instead we have ukeleles, clapping and whistling vomit
Before this fool talks he should read a book…or listen to a B52s song.
All out of tune
Genuinely the worst song I have ever heard in my life
I LIVED in Georgia still I MISSED their Concerts! I've been up PREACHTREE ST. Past Rome exit!
Mesopotamia is probably a personal favorite record. I was so happy to score the RSD re-release. I heard its a hard to come by record
