They've brought so much joy to the world its immeasurable! A really lovely bunch of nice talented people! Love Shack just never gets old, still a floor filler to this day.
Every movement and utterance with purpose and yet feeling spontaneous makes this band a modern day Mozart in performance and edge. So constantly obsessed. They are going to be my life epitaph recording after life. All their performances on vid and repeat.
You listen to their tunes and they sound a little weird & kooky at first until you realize how fkn brilliant those hooks are .. truly, an underrated group of musicians.
32 year old live performance!! such a wonderful song. Love that they sound so raw and organic every time a bit different. I love they dont sound the same over and over which sometimes is expected. Harmonies are insane. So cool to leave your finger print for the future generations this way.! love rules, so stay away if you’re a fool! love love love !
Joshua Brooks, When was this first released, again? I only discovered them in 1980. As much as I loved their music, I didn’t follow them, really. But, I think I still have their yellow album, that I got late ‘80s, early ‘90s. Somewhere. In 1980, I used to dance at an open-all-night New Wave club a whole lot. That’s where I first heard “Rock Lobster”. And another one of theirs, can’t recall the name of the song, though. That was 40 years ago. And, you’re saying that this song, “Love Shack”, came out in 1990??
Now this is what I'm talking about for a live performance. Notice how it is Kate that says, "Rusted" . That was clear as a bell and should put to rest that the word is Busted, even on some lyrics. Just saw them last month here at the Portland, Oregon Zoo. Now that was a great performance. Thanks for the suggestion and link to follow from my account. Jeez, that was almost 20 years ago, and the B's are still going strong. And sound just as good as this performance. Thanks again! JF
I love how you can tell Fred is in absolute awe of the girls talent. He looks over at each of them admiring their incredible harmonizing . Made my heart melt 💜
I remember seeing this airing on Letterman and thought this was the weirdest song that I've ever heard. But as they began playing it more and more on the radio it eventually began to grow on me.
BOSTON, " The Channel " Best Live Consert in a "Club" Live Ever seen Cindy + Kate could ,shatter champagne 🍾 glass es ,or make Ur filling "zz Shake !!!
Thats Will Lee. He was bassist for the David Letterman show. One of those session players who can speed read music and learn songs on the fly. Great singer too. Still at it today.
They had to speed it up to fit into the show's time slot. Also, Cindy skipped all her high notes and kate did the tin roof rusted part...so I am guessing her voice was a little strained at the time.
I noticed that at 3:39 there was a local station callout @ the Lower right corner. Ironic B/C that's where I was @ the time that I watched this very performance in its first airing in 1989. What are the odds & how cool is that?!?!
I've seen both Kate and Cindy do the "Rusted" part. At the Zoo in July it was Kate, as in this video, and at the B's induction to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, it was Cindy. Last year, at the Roseland Theater in Portland, (here) it was Kate. Guess it depends on how they feel at any given time. I've seen them live about 20 times, and a little more than half the time, it is Cindy who does that part. One of my friends, who is a singer, told me she couldn't do it, and I've heard her try. JF
They were definitely a road band having promoted all albums released for 18 months each time except for bouncing off the satellites. Cindy was clearly avoiding all the high notes and some of her parts. Her throat was obviously bothering her.
When those two ladies harmonize, it's magic.
And so fun!!
Yup I still get chills
Are you including Fred?
@@coolasice2187 no, he does his own thing
They belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Trailblazersndud their own thing....crafted their own sound. ICONS!!!
Kate is the adult version of Pebbles Flintstone in this and I'm here for it.
We didn’t deserve these guys. Not then. Not now. We are truly blessed
Jesus .....I never realized how great the B-52s were until now.
What a great band!
same happened to me. I heard them over the years. They’re a great band
Damn right!
You're very right!!!! :-)
I've known since 1979 ; p
What you hear in this live video is the EXACT sound you hear from a controlled studio in the 1980s. Super live vocals from these "3 front men."
Reminds me of my 1st year university in St. Catharines, Canada (1979-80) .... always played this song whenever we had a party.
I am so glad this was my youth
Kate Pierson's voice... gotta love it.
They're so plainly all enjoying the song. That's the way it should be.
They've brought so much joy to the world its immeasurable! A really lovely bunch of nice talented people! Love Shack just never gets old, still a floor filler to this day.

je suis Français, j'ai 62 ans, je les ais connu dans les années 80 et quel bonheur encore aujourd'hui ! ❤❤💕💕
You listen to their tunes and they sound a little weird & kooky at first until you realize how fkn brilliant those hooks are .. truly, an underrated group of musicians.
The hooks are what make the good bands brilliant
Doing it live. So awesome. They were their own thing.
Saw them this week. Their "farewell tour." Still one of the best party bands ever. Highly recommended.
They did a show in Phoenix years ago and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Saw them for this tour in '89 and again in '03. VH1 called them the ultimate party band and had a 52's party give-a-way.
Sheesh. That live performance has more energy than the studio cut.
😍🥰😍🥰😍
They always brought the fun and energy, every time. So fantastic. I'm so glad I was a young person when these folks rose to fame.
It sends chills down my spine still after 34 years. Love the B52s.
The blonde is not good looking to me . Which means she must be a great singer
@@salt27dogg
Sultry and sexy!
I always like the fact that they look like they're njoying themselves
One thing that strikes me about the B-52's is how much fun it looks like they are having. No wonder they are still going strong.
Kate's voice gives me goose bumps all over!
Kate & Cindy’s voice’s are just perfect💯👌🏼

Lovely Cindy Wilson, there's no B-52 without you.
Can't get enough of that song. It's their best by far. I've probably watched the official music video 100 times or more.
I can watch Kate dance all day!! Cindy is awesome too.
Oh, her movements. Class.
TIN ROOF RUSTED.... one of those unforgettable iconic lines in rock music...
love kate's voice
i'm 55 and this is aewsome
harmonies are very complex, good arrangement

This take me right back to late '89 when I was in 10th grade.
Two of the best female singers ever... Band always awesome!
Absolutely! I loved the energy!!
Their chemistry was fabulous.
Kate and Cindy. I am literally drooling!
MY GOD - THAT WAS SO GOOD! Loved the Most Dangerous Band in the World just getting into it with the 52s. Such good Sierra!!!!!
Absolutely stunning.
Fred Schneider has always been my favorite...
It's hard to believe that this song and album turn 30 years old this year.
I know right! What the heck?
Makes me feel old. Hahahahahaha

Traekas7! Album came out in 1989 but got took off in 1990.
Holy shit did u notice how quick they went on stage not even 5 seconds and they start. I can't even get a drink lol
i did notice that too! lol
I'm drunk already
Yeah they started playing so fast!
It is called on the one
It is "Jump Swing "
Why an excellent Funky group, what a shame they don't make anything like that today

These guys and gals put on one hell of a show !! ❤❤❤❤
I first saw them in the 1980s at the Forest HillsTennis Stadium (Forest Hills, Queens, NY). They were great then and, for me, are STILL great.
B-52's are so underrated
Not at all.
Nah they’re about evenly rated. Not great - not terrible - very weird musicians.
@@EnginesandElbowGrease Sounds like it...the guys whos fucking searching for the Love Shack footage....typical...fucking fuck.
Watch The B-52's - Full Concert - 11/07/80 - Capitol Theatre and then tell me how you really feel.....
@@EnginesandElbowGrease Not to say all their songs later sucked but when Ricky Wilson passed, their songs weren't quite as great.
Great performance! Fred is the metronome of their live performances. He must be exhausted after every concert!

I love this group. Great party music
Thank goodness for RUclips so everyone can see how it’s done.. live with no auto tune!
This bass player is doing some great work. Best part of this song;
That is Will Lee - original recording played by Sara Lee - no relation! :-)
Will Lee!
Will Lee, one of the best!
Even if it isn't the original line.
One tight Grove being layed down for sure

Cindy ♥ I love how she danced with her feet when she was young
I LOVE the B52s, but only because they're so much fun!
Well, Fred has talent...
yes!! that and vibe energy
I'd say the girls have some nice talent as well in singing. Very unique sound, I think. And Ricky Wilson had a nice guitar sound.

I am sad that I grew up past the 80's and 90's they were the best years for music cars you name it including the b-52's
sebastien joseph, Agree with those 2 decades. But, in my case, I’ll add the music 🎵 of the 1960s, 1970s, and a tiny piece of the ‘50s for flavor.
