I tried to use the programming instructions that came with the keys I bought on eBay and didn’t work so I went to you tube and found this video. Awesome and short but very helpful video!!! Great job👍🏻 and Thank you!
You're Welcome! Glad it helped
This is short, concise and simple to follow.
The joy that rushed through my body when I followed these instructions and it worked?
PRICELESS. 😂
Thank you. 🙌🙏
You're Welcome!
P
One of the simplest, clearest instructions I’ve seen. And yes, successfully followed it. Thanks!
You're welcome! Glad it helped
BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Who doesn't love a very well made video, where it explains in good details and is short, simple and effective.
100 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank You!!
I wanted to let others know that I have a 2001 Toyota sequoia and this programming technique worked like a charm. The funny thing is my husband and two of his friends couldn't get the remote to program and it took me 10 seconds to program it...lmao Girl Power!! 😂
Nice!
Not sure if I was doing something wrong initially. It took me about 8 tries while in programming mode for the key fob to be "accepted". Thank you for the video 👍🏻
You're Welcome!
This also works on a 2003 Camry ijs! Thanks for the clear easy instruction video.
God I hope this works for me! I just called toyota and they want $150 to program key fob on top of the $130 for EACH fob! Thanks for making this video!
You're Welcome - hope you got it figured out
Thanks. You presented at the perfect pace, I watched a few times then followed along in my Sequoia.
You're welcome! Glad it helped
@@PYR-Auto very clear. Worked great! Thanks!
I really appreciate you. Works like a charm. Now I have 2 remotes working. 1 spare remote just in case I lock my keys in my car 😂 because pop and lock is a little pricey to get it out
Glad it helped!
Worked perfectly, thank you!!
You're Welcome!
Thank you. It worked for 2002 Sequoia.
You're Welcome!
Good job- saved me a locksmith fee!
Thanks!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you! Worked on my 2007 sequoia.
Awesome! You're Welcome!
Cade Leyton Jones I purchased a universal remote online for about $20 and it worked perfectly. Good luck!
Worked well for my 2004 sequoia. Thank you for your help.
You’re Welcome!
Hey Tt83 Where did you get your key fobs? Are you able to find them more affordable on amazon or ebay?
Did it do the window too??
I just tried to program a cheap key fob that looks just like the Toyota original. I had trouble getting it to unlock after programming.
Here’s a HUGE tip:
Cut the plastic that connects the 3 buttons you have to push for lock/unlock/error window. They won’t push down all the way if they’re connected.
You have to take the case off to get to it. Mine works great now!
Worked 1st try got 2 new fobs working thanks
You're Welcome!
For a 2005 Sequoia i had to do this:
Close all doors.
2. Insert your Master Key (Black) into the ignition.
3. Turn the ignition from LOCK to ON 5 times within 15 seconds, on the 5th time, leave the key in the ON position.
4. Open and close the driver's door 6 times within 20 seconds.
5. Turn the Master Key back to LOCK and remove.
6. Insert the new blank key and turn to the ON position.
7. Leave in ON position for a full minute while the key registers with the vehicle.
8. After 60+ seconds, remove the key.
9. Open then close the driver's door to end the procedure.
There were no lights or sounds that told me it was working at all. But i tried the key afterwards, it took an extra secomd or so for the car to start....but bingo! It worked!
Thank you for your video.
Just saved me $195
Great! You're Welcome
Unbelievable what some of these places charge for a 2 minutes procedure
Yeah it really is
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I used your method to program my new fob for my 2003 Avalon and it worked GREAT!!!
You're welcome! Glad it helped
If you perform all the steps and the sequioa responds just like in the video but when you close the door and take it out of programming mode the fob doesn’t work it is because the sequioa has too many saved keys.
To clear all saved fobs you without taking the key out you turn it to on a second time. Then back to off and take the key out and the directions are the same.
Thanks, It worked for my Avalon 2002.
You're Welcome!
Fast and easy! Great video! Thank you for that! 😅💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
You're welcome!!
Perfect it works very well thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏

It works 😊 short and very good video.. thank you.
You're Welcome!
perfect , it worked on my sequoia 2004.
nice!
It worked for 2004 Sequoia. Thank You to ProgramYourRemote.com
You're Welcome!
Where is your sequoia originally from? What model?
@@cliffwallace1110 i live in Western USA and my is SR5 model, 4X4, 4.7 liter V8.
Worked perfect!
Thank you! (Spoken with great emphasis)
You're Welcome!
This helped thank you! One thing I noticed that if it locks and unlocks twice after you press the lock key on remote to program it, that it failed to register. I had to hold the lock and unlock buttons for 1.5 seconds, and then press the Lock button for 1 second. When it registers with the remote, it will lock and unlock once on its own. I couldn’t get the rear window button on the remote to work though, any ideas on how to do so? It sounds like it tries to lower the window but nothing happens. Thanks for the vid! Btw, I have a 2002 sequoia limited..
As far as the window not rolling down - that sounds like an issue with the vehicle itself rather than anything to do with the remote
@@PYR-Auto I thought so too at first, but the button on the inside dash to roll the window down works, just not the remote.
that is strange, you could always try a replacement remote. Usually If a button on the remote is "broken" it shouldn't emit a signal - so if it sounds like the vehicle is trying to roll the window down when you press it that would mean the vehicle is getting the signal and just not reacting properly
This comment saved me thanks!
Thanks for that tip. I was about to lose my mind.
Perfect... Thank you very much...
You're Welcome!
Thanks for video mines didn’t work first time turned out my rear door actuator wasn’t working I replaced and tried again and worked great
Glad it helped!
Did all 2004 sequoias come with remotes?? I bought one used and it didn’t come with it just a key.
Thank you for the video it work on my 2007 Sequoia.
Glad it helped
I should be more specific, when I enter programming mode, upon removal of the key my lock cycles once but as soon as I hit lock and unlock at the same time on the remote my door cycles twice and then when I hold down the lock button nothing happens. Do you think that’s because too many remotes are currently programmed
Help Please.. I have a 2004 Sequoia and can't seem to get it into Programming Mode. I've followed the instructions perfectly about 15x. Any suggestions?
Same here. 2004 Sequoia and have tried it at least a dozen times exactly the same and it never goes into programming mode.
Currently sitting in car trying also, won't go into programming mode.
@@ctgeorgiasame here I don’t know what to do it never wants to go into programming mode and I tried about all ways
@@cesarreyes3229 I finally figured out why mine doesn't work. What I realized was I have an aftermarket system and not the original from the manufacturer. That is why it did not work. These only work with the original manufacturer system.
@@ctgeorgiadid you get it to work another way? I have a 2004 as well and I can’t get it to work
Worked Perfect - THANK YOU!!! Other on-line instructions were incorrect on last step - but yours worked.

Worked like a charm 🔥
Great!
Not getting the cycle at the end.
Nothing happens. Did it like 10 times
Looks easy enough, I’m watching RUclips on my TV can’t get online right now, I assume you sell the remotes on your webpage
We do not sell remotes directly, but if you are in need of a remote or key I would recommend checking out bit.ly/CarAndTruckRemotes.
Dealers will charge $100 for this. Thanks!

I guess I’m in the same boat. Have repeated the procedures multiple times and nothing. 2010 sequoia platinum. Previous owner looks like they had it programmed to another remote and trying to reprogram it onto an OEM but can it enter into program mode
I can't get my 2004 Sequoia into the programming mode no matter how many times I try. I have the original key and one original remote that still works. I bought some new remotes and so far no luck. I had an 03 that I done this on and it worked fine for it, but these locks respond different to the remote and to the key than my 03 Sequoia did and I'm not sure why. Any help would be great!!!
A 2003 and 2004 Sequoia should program the same - What exactly do you mean when you say that the 2004 responds differently that the 2003? are the locks cycling in step 5 and 6? (steps are in the description box of the video)
@@PYR-Auto I have an 2004 and believe my system may not actually be factory. Will this also work for a port in or vip system aka aftermarket.
This procedure will only work on Factory installed systems, not aftermarket
@@PYR-Auto on my 2003 I can use this video procedure to get it into the programming mode but on my 2004 I can not. On my 04 when I insert the key and turn it to the on position and back off the door locks cycle every time, but on my 03 it does not do this. I so wish someone could help me with this.
Same here with my 2004 Sequoia. It’s not entering the programming mode. After I take the key out the second time, I get nothing. Tried a bunch of times now. I do have an issue with my rear driver side door not locking/unlocking with the switch, that could be my issue. Idk. I’ll try to manually lock/unlock that door when trying the reprogramming.
Booyah! Thank you!
You're Welcome!
Worked for one but not the second one
Thanks got it to work! Do the first Gen Sequoia's have the Toyota chirping/beeping sound when locking or unlocking the vehicle 🤔
Or did that feature come out in later models??
Glad it helped! I'm not sure on the chirping/ beeping
Ok thanks for replying 🙂
My Limited does have the beeping sound when you lock and unlock. I have a 2002
The chirp can be programmed to be on or off. To switch from what you have now, do the following. With drivers door open, insert key in ignition and then remove. Then insert key again, turn to on and wait 10 second. Now press lock button on remote twice and you should hear a beep. That should do it.
I just did this on my '04 Sequoia.
I was sure this would work maybe because I have the 2008 platinum edition.
This doesnt work for my truck ... neither of my keys do anything ( make noise ) when I stick them in... I also have 4 stages ( off, acc, on, start ) ... so maybe that is the problem. I tried sticking it it and turning it to ACC and still doing it but still never would go into programming mode... any advice anyone?
Hi question , 2007 Toyota Avalon with push button start and a smart fob , car wont start , all acc work perfect, but dash is black no lights and security flashing red ,the fob with new battery does not work , it does not have a small light to show if it sends wave or not how can i check it work or not , the lockunlock works from inside the car , thank you much.
You are my angel 😇 bless to you , I did it
Great!
And how to program the key
It depends on the year of your sequoia. On some years you can program the ignition key yourself and other you cannot. You can check yours here www.ProgramAutoKeys.com/classified/sequoia-browse-741.aspx
Hi, i have toyota sequoia 2007 its not going for the programming mode. Any suggestions..?
On the second round of lock unlock it only locks does not unlock? 2007 sequoia
Thanks !!!
You’re Welcome!
Can someone help my car is not beeping when I put in my key
Mine has the green led will it work with that one it’s for my sequoia
Super 🎉
Thanks!
What if u have a key that doesn’t have a fob in it can u just unprogram the fob and then start the sequoia with the key that doesn’t have any fob
Question, my 2003 Toyota Sequoia has a remote starter, I can't get past 3 cycles before the vehicle starts, is there a way around this ???
honestly I'm not sure how to get around an aftermarket remote start system.
@@PYR-Auto I don't think it's an aftermarket remote starter, user manual has instructions on how it works I think my remote may have been reprogrammed at one point though, instructions say press the lock button 3 times to start the vehicle my remote you press the unlock button 3 times and it start, it also does the using the lock/unlock button on the door
It has to be an aftermarket system because remote start was not a factory option on a 2003 Sequoia. With that being said, I'm not sure what to suggest as far as getting around the remote start itself
I have tried over and over with both an OEM and aftermarket fobs with no success. What could I be doing wrong? Help, please?
Didn't work for my 2004 toyota seqouia couldn't get the lock cycle going.
Same here. Have you find anything out ? My 04 sequoia sr5 is from gulf states toyota distributor im notice those are the models with the problem programming.
@@cliffwallace1110 nope!! Let me know if you find something.
@@cliffwallace1110 find anything??? Still dealing with the same problem
@@cliffwallace1110 have you find anything yet???
No matter what, I can’t get this to work on my 2008 sequoia. I have an original key and the valet key, neither are getting me to the step where it gets into programming mode. I’ve tried 8-10 times with no luck.
Matthew Elias I’m right there with you! 2008 sequoia I’ve spent nearly 2 hours. I’m starting to think techstream is needed.
Same. 2008
Same here with my 2004 Sequoia. It’s not entering the programming mode. After I take the key out the second time, I get nothing. Tried a bunch of times now.
@@realamericanz4641how you got it done?
Hi, can this work even if my key is not the master key? Thanks
I believe as long as you are not using a "valet key," you don't need the "master key".
My Sequoia doesn't appear to go into programming mode (the locks don't cycle after you turn the key ON, then OFF). MY key is not original, but works perfectly. Any suggestions?
What year is your Sequoia? Are you sure you vehicle is set-up for factory remotes? Do you now or have you ever had a working remote for the vehicle?
@@PYR-Auto Definitely set up for factory remote. It is a 2005, but I purchased it second-hand and they didn't even have the original key when I went to pick it up. They had it when I test-drove the car, but lost it in the meantime.
@@PYR-Auto I'll try going a little slower and faster. I've heard that not having the Toyota key has caused people some problems in the past, so that might be something I need to go ahead and get. Thanks for your reply!
CRS it took me about 10 tries in my 01 Toyota Sequoia but I managed to program 3 new fobs! Awesomeness!
I had the same problem of the car not going into programming mode. By locking the other doors before starting, the problem was solved.
Can’t get it to work on an 04 sequoia.
It will work its u not the car, I did it in a 04
@@guillermoderivas5494 no definitely the car
Same, went through the steps multiple times, couldn’t get it to work.
Did not work for me either. Batteries are brand new in the remote. Tried a number of times. It does go into the program mode, but I just can’t get the remote to work.
Their are some dumb people in hear,,04 sequoia worked fine😂
I have only my original OEM Toyota key fobs for my 2013 Sequoia. On on of the fob the "unlock" button does not work however, the lock button, open rear hatch button and Panic button still work fine. Can I just "re-program" my original fobs to get everything to work again?
Re-programing the fobs will not fix a broken button - the fob will need to be replaced.
Awesome 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks 👍
So I’m trying to do this on my 03 and it’s not going into program mode
I have a 03 sequoia just got 2 remotes from Amazon both work for the programing fort but when I exit and test them only one remote will work
I don't know how to solve your problem but I'm wondering for myself, are the remotes after market or OEM?
We haven’t had a key fob for a while so maybe this is normal…The programming worked for one of the key fobs I ordered, but now when I unlock the doors using the key fob, they will unlock but then automatically lock again after about 1 minute. Is there a way to make it not do that?
Not sure - I haven't experienced that before
@@PYR-Auto it stopped doing it once I drove it around town. Must have been a signal code or programming thing. Wierd
This is gold thank you!!!
What if I follow all these instructions and my locks do not cycle what should I do then
Didn't work on my 2007 sequoia. After inserting key in ignition (after the two 5 lock/unlock cycles) it doesn't do anything...doesn't lock the doors...so we are stuck at this step
So what does it mean if when I take the key out entering program mode it cycle the locks twice
it means the remote fob was not accepted. There may be too many remotes already programmed to the vehicle, you can have a maximum of 4 remotes programmed at time. To erase all previous remotes and add additional ones, instead of simply adding additional remotes, you just need to do one step differently. If you look at the steps in the description box of the video and look at step "4. E." you need to to turn the ignition from On to OFF 5 times instead of once, to erase previous remotes. Also when you do this the door locks should cycle 5 times to indicate programming mode.
@@PYR-Auto Thank you. Sounds risky, I’m scared to lose function of the one remote I have left from when I bought the vehicle.
Doesn't work for my 2003 sequoia
Tried this over 20 times and does not work on my 2004 sequoia SR5.
Does this work for 2016 Toyota sequoia? I’ve tried everything.
No
I have a 2002 Sequoia and when I try to do the five lock/unlock cycles it triggers my remote start. Do I just continue with the rest of the steps even though the vehicle is running?
I don't believe it will work with the vehicle running. You may need to deactivate the aftermarket remote start system in order to be able to program the fob
doesn’t work on my 04 sequoia. door locks cycle twice when in programming mode.
The same here Sequoia 2002
Keep trying it. It happened to me. You must be doing something wrong
Did not work on my 2012 sequoia platinum.
how do you program the rear hatch open/close or is that also done automatically with the door locks being programmed on the fob
The whole remote programs in at the same time - however not all vehicles have the power rear hatch option. The remotes will only operate the options your vehicle has.
Hi, so i followed through the steps and my new remotes are synced up although it only unlocks the truck. When i try locking, truck just beeps. I did check and make sure all door were closed. Can't seem to figure out what the issue is? Any suggestions?!
Not sure - I haven't experienced that
Can you share a link where I can purchase replacement keyfob for Sequoia 2004? Thanks

Hi. This procedure did not allow me to enter the program mode. I have the dealer installed door lock system on my 2004 Sequoia SR5. Might you know the procedure for me?
Yeah this procedure is for the factory installed system. Sorry I do not have the information on the dealer installed
Hi, will this work if i do not have any fobs at all?
yes - as long as the vehicle as the factory remote option installed

2002
you can find the programming procedure here www.programautokeys.com/classified/2002-toyota-sequoia-ignition-transponder-chip-key-programming-instructions-listing-8364.aspx#.XkQYDmhKiUk
Bummer, I tried varying speeds and used all three of my original keys but still can’t get it to go into program mode. It’s a 2004 Sequoia that we’ve had since buying it new. The rear hatch does not lock so perhaps that’s the culprit. I did buy two replacement remotes but they were inexpensive, probably won’t even bother returning them.
I assume the vehicle came with remotes when you bought it new, correct? Do you still have any of the original remotes, do they still work?
ProgramYourRemote.com yes and yes. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Okay, I was just making sure you're keyless entry system is still functioning properly and it sounds like it is. In response to your original comment, I don't think it should matter if the rear hatch locks or not as the hatch is not involved in the procedure. Unfortunately, other than to just keep trying I don't know what else to suggest. I've had many different people use this procedure with success so we know it works but some vehicles seem to be more stubborn than others.
my 04 seq sr5 from gulf states distributor is will not go into programming mode. Do you know where yours is originally from? I have a notion these are the ones with problems programming all other 04s these procedures will work just fine.
Cliff Wallace We bought it new in eastern Pennsylvania. Not sure where my dealer got it from originally. It’s funny because I gave both of my new remotes to a guy who works at a neighboring business with an 04 Sequoia as well. We programmed them just fine.
The only other thing I can think of is the fact that my rear hatch no longer locks. I know I should be glad I can open and close the hatch but maybe the fact that it doesn’t lock is throwing something off when I cycle the door locks.
I didn’t know there was a batch of trucks it went out with a different program and technique. What else do you know about that?
My 2010 Sequoia will not go into program mode. I call the dealership and the shop foreman said it has to be connected to the Toyota scan tool.
The Dealers use a scan tool whether an onboard procedure is available or not but the information that I have shows this procedure should work until 2013.
my 2003 sequoia's driver side lock actuator is not working, but the lock unlock still works for all other doors. When I tried to program as instructor I couldn't get the confirmation lock/unlock. Would the driver's side actuator busted be the reason?
it could be, try doing the 5 cycles manually by moving the actual lock on the drivers door with your hand.
@@PYR-Auto You are my hero. I tried your suggestion by manually flipping the drive side door lock instead of the door lock switch but that still didn't work. So I tried the next logical step, doing both, manually switching the driver side lock AND the doors lock switch and BINGO!! I was able to complete the subsequent steps and now have an extra key fob. Thank you so much!! Next step go to my local hardward store to have the key copied and programmed. So that I will have a spare key and key fob again, which I lost 10 years ago.
Cool! glad you got it to work
this would not work on my 2003 Toyota sequoia.
ditto, just posted this ... "This doesnt work for my truck ... neither of my keys do anything ( make noise ) when I stick them in... I also have 4 stages ( off, acc, on, start ) ... so maybe that is the problem.
