    I have just watched all 3 ep on this build. Never done or even thought about a gearbox as they also just seemed way to complicated. Your video's make it look quite easy, which, I'm sure they after you've done a gazillion of them.
    Still not sure it's something that I'd tackle, leave it to your experts.
    Great video's and off to watch more.

    I have been using this series of videos to rebuild my gearbox. What is the black sealant you use for the Diff Cover and what type of grease do you use on the Diff Output Cover gaskets?

  • @Sternhammer89

    Also just noticed that you used spring washers on the bolts in the diff housing. These are flanged bolts, shouldn't there be no washers just some loctite?

    Do the standard OEM Final drive Crown Wheels fit the LSD you just showed at the end? Enjoyed the Video!!

      Yes you can fit these with a standard crownwheel or one of our straight-cut types if you prefer.

    Would the be a helical diff available anywhere that would fit an Austin 1800 by chance? Also, you never explained exactly what “Straight cut” actually means. Thanks :)

    What is the Idler gear that you fit? Can't find it on your Web Site?

    What sealant is that you use prior to putting the diff housing on?

      Great videos but why aren’t they replying to comments.

    how come you don't use sealant on the end covers? Is it because of the pre loading?

    • @MEDEngineeringTechVideos
      @MEDEngineeringTechVideos  4 года назад

      Yes, that's the reason :)

      so will the grease help to seal?

    • @MEDEngineeringTechVideos
      @MEDEngineeringTechVideos  4 года назад

      @@troaky Yes, that and the gasket will seal it, unless the faces are damaged.

      @@MEDEngineeringTechVideos I know this video was a while ago but am I right in saying the earlier differential housings required gaskets and the later ones used just the sealant? You don't by any chance know the part numbers of which ones require which?

    • @MEDEngineeringTechVideos
      @MEDEngineeringTechVideos  3 года назад

      @@jonahheal263 Yes, the remote boxes used gaskets, rod change sealer.

    show a geared up 1 in 20 or bigger mechanical advantage.
    its OBVIOUSLY possible to gear up a simple hoist pulley stacking a few BICYCLE drivetrains in series .
    my legs are turning the business end of a 2ton hoist at high rpm..you understand what that means 😐..👍
