Didn't you forget to tighten the thrust angle dangler bolt,,?? Ha ha,, only kidding,, this brings back memories of my 1071 S Around mid 70's,, when I was young,, how , I loved that car,, Great videos guys,,, Atb,, John,,
At 15:20 or so, you talk about the better style idler system. Ever thought about making a helical replacement for that so people could install a helical version on their road cars?
Can you tell me the crank diameter specs for the retrofit rear main seal? Working on a 1098. There seems to be very little space behind the scroll on the crank.
@2:03 you put MPZ Engine Assembly Lube on the bearing. However you stated you put Glue! Lol Just making sure people knew you put some thick oil on it and certainly not glue.
Really important to make sure people know to support the race of a bearing that is being fitted and not to allow any impact across the balls. Fitting the 1st motion shaft bearing by tapping it on a vice is not good practice
Excellent video. Clear and concise. Good camera work to catch all the right angles. Thank you for including techniques that we can use at home.
Absolutely a joy to watch and i don't even own a mini !
I can already hear the teeth whining in my mind when I see that beautiful assembly :-)
Another great video from you guys!
Nothing like a whining straight cut gearbox in a Mini on full chat..

It would fragment what is already a huge product line for one gearset - we already have 27 varieties!
@@MEDEngineeringTechVideos Fragment? I think you mean enhance! :-D

your videos are excellent! They've given me the confidence to do my own gearbox and diff.
Glad to help. If you need any bits for the rebuild let us know :)
Excellent vid! Thank you.

You missed the step where you fling the circlip across the workshop and cuss it out for 15 minutes while you look for it
Great, love your videos.
Brilliant.
On the torque figures you don't mention units. I presume it's lb.ft not Nm?
Yes lb.ft
I'm struggling to select two gears. I can select the gear closest the pinion but not the one closest the drop gears. Any ideas?
To select two gears at the same time?
@@MEDEngineeringTechVideos so I can do the pinion and first motion shaft nuts up.
@@MrBerty1988 Yes, ok, that's what we were trying to clarify. Do you want to give us a call and speak to Lee or Steve? 01455 618464. Might be quicker!
What is the strongest casing number to use on a rod type? Someone told me 5626
That's the one.
How much are these gearboxes to buy ?

I just destroyed my gearbox, might as well go SC/CR for the rebuild I guess.
Is that for A and A+ gearboxes for the drop gear?
Yes
I wanna ask, if i buy some straight cut gear is it can install to any gear box??
The Clubman gearset fits in rod change housings only, but the six-piece race set works in either rod or remote boxes.
😎👍
Muito bom

That would take me a month.
Where can I get help with 5-speed gearbox, parts was stolen i Postoffice in a break one night.
