These episodes demonstrate such authority and command of the subject matter, I haven't had a mini since 1979 but I am compelled to watch them; I just wish you wouldn't keep us waiting so long for each follow up.
Aqua blasting still uses a media, ceramic beads which are just as likely to cause contamination of oil as any other type of media blasting if not thoroughly cleaned.
If that worried about media contamination (even after flushing / cleaning) then i'd pick either soda or CO2 blasting, soda disolves with water and CO2 just 'evaporates'!
@@ronald1968 i know it was originally remote. I just thought they were sacrificing some gear change accuracy but not going to magic wand instead rod change.
@@Alan-wu3ry a well set up wand, will be as accurate as a rod, or remote... most if the slack people associate with wands is down to the worn bushes in the diff case that the shafts go through
I’ve got a 4 synchro box in mine with a magic wand diff housing and the shift is very precise (of course you need to replace the bushes and check everything properly). I’d recommend it for anyone who want to keep the magic wand and have all synchro

Great video and very well explained
Great video, looking forward to the build and looking forward to hear what the finished setup will sound like on the road
Great tech vid..on the magic of a mini gearbox 👍🏻
Excellent video!! Thanks and regards from Chile!
Swapping the diff case is also a great way to re purpose an ado16 gearbox case!
nice presentation
Great Info just wondered if full syndro gear set will fit in a ribcase midget box thanks mark from nz
I’ve just rebuilt a race box that used your competition synch rings - appears to have broken them after three races (short), time for a dog box?
Love it!
Great!
Excellent video. Is there a reason for going Magic Wand over a Rod change?
I thought rod change would be more precise?
The original box was remote, not rod..... and, he said they didn't want to cut a hole in the floor for the remote shifter....

👍👏
Why switch to a magic wand from a remote type shifter?
So we could keep the bodyshell original - the remote box would need us to cut a hole in the floor, which seemed a shame.
