Good info there Louie. My spark plug tops are a little loose, but fortunately the sled runs perfect. I'll probably get some new plugs soon though just in case.
I took possession of my 69 399 Olympic and ran the hell out of it for 3 years. Blew one belt and cleaned out the Tillotson carb a dozen times because of water fouling (gas tank cap vent let in snow). I remember putting in new plugs and adjusting the track for stretch every season, and greasing the boggys once every month during the season. I had no issues, no electronics to maintain or worry about, no altitude sensors, belt never got loose, chain never needed adjustment, no air box's, no plugs, no clutch tool. Tools I carried - vicegrips, extra cotter keys, extra washers, a few feet of vinyl tubing/gas line tubing, a set of spark plugs and a spark plug wrench, Philips and flat blade screwdrivers, pliers, a couple of rags, an extra fuel filter, maybe an assortment of nuts/bolts/screws, an extra drive belt and an extra cooling fan belt, a roll of gasket material, a can of starting fluid, a pocket knife and a nail file. But what we took extra care in was survival equipment - Sterno, extra food, extra water, emergency shelter, mirror, string or twine, rope, rubber straps (the predecessor to bungies)
Its funny that u mentioned the spark plug tops un screwing themselves, at the start of this season i couldnt figure out why I could never get consistant full throttle out of my ol kawasaki drifter, turns out it was the plug tops. Replaced them with solid top plugs and it runs like new, ill never buy non solid tops again.
Thanks for all the help on these sleds. I just went to pull over my sled and found it wouldn't turn over. I pulled the carbs and the sump was full of 2 stoke oil. Any idea what would cause this 2004 skidoo 800 summit stat for the summer with half a tank of oil.
Is it possible to get the far side carb boot to air box clamp without that extremely long screw driver? Btw sorry to hear about your rev blowing up, I'm excited to watch the install videos for the big bore though, it's more motivation to do a big bore on mine ;p
You said something about getting the timing curve changed. Is there a controller software out there for these or is there someone who does computer tuning on an 03 rev 800?
Your videos are great! Thank you for making this for us :)

Hey you should hold the throttle wide open doing you compression test let as much air in there as you can
i did - or usually do!

ya it shouldnt do that - faulty injection pump
How hard would you say is it to take apart the front a arms to paint for someone who has never worked on sleds but is pretty mechanically rounded
Hey where can i get a tunnel like that and you are the bomb by the way thanks for alot of the help im a rev fan myself 440/800 mod
You should try the Schaeffer's oil. You won't be disappointed.
Is this the same Rev that you posted was just blown up on FB?

yes it is. and it happens - thats snowmobiling!

What's the difference between my 2007 Renegade 800 powertek and a 2008 800 powertek?
When you instal a different computer in a 2002 ski doo rev do you have to reprogram it. It idles but won’t rev up
Probably something to do with the dess key
Hey Louis, where can I get one of those PowerModz stickers
what kind of bag are u using
Is that hood off of a rt chassis? it just doesn't look right
Do you run premium fuel in the 800 ski-doo sled?
Yes I do.
With a cap full of Lucas babee
You need a head lamp lol 30 lumens recharcharable with lipo
I was wanting to know if I can put 800 rev motor on a 600 rev chassis and what would I have to do as of modifications ??
Quebec has mountains?? nothing like Golden BC i bet
i respect everything you do and all your videos but why dont you just get a new xm ?
then what would i make videos about:)
Great video.
What are those running boards? Looking for a set for my 04 Rev
What bag is that?
Great tips! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Louis I'm wondering if I could take. A square carb and put it on my 95 ski doo formula z replace the round ones with the square ones???
do you still have the 700 mod?
I think it seized so he put in another motor in it!
I was talking about the zx chassis 700.
No i dont have it - well yes I do, going to make a water crosser:)
Sounds like an awesome build! can't wait to see it!
PowerModz so the 700 motor didn't end up working well for you in this machine? I thought you didn't like these 800s?
Only 360p?
it needs to process
Oh sorry my bad, didn't notice how recently it was uploaded.
Checking its blood pressure. That's what I thought.
Ha what model belt do you use and have the best luck with
XS 821 or XS 803 ?
we've been using the 803 - how well does the 821 work? we find that the doo belt doesnt grab as well on take off.
PowerModz I like the 821 it grabs really good on take off but it does squeak at a idle. I was thinking of trying the 803 and see how it does throw
rotaxrules100 i think the 821 is a little wider - that's probably why you are getting the rubbing.
can you use that oil for pre mix ?
He is running premix.
there isent any blue tint
belairlover93 Not all 2 stroke oils are dyed, most of the higher quality stuff isnt. He's covered that before in other videos.
ah cool
That is a screw driver
Great videos thoe
