I'm autistic as well I do the same thing with food if I taste or see something I don't like I throw it away and yeah I do take the stuff I don't like off. And yeah I do react like that when I try to eat something and it has something in it I don't like

Having a peanut butter and fluff sandwich was very important to me and I didn't want anything else except for under very rare circumstances like field trips or when my family bought miniature bagels from the grocery store. As I got to college, my midday palate expanded, but I am still very rigorous in my lunchtime endeavor; I am 100% with Shaun on that.
As a person with mild Autism myself, any kind of noise can be a huge distraction, as autism causes hypersensitivity to noises. Imagine that you’re talking to someone, your brain filters out all outside noises, but with autism that filter isn’t there and you hear and contemplate everything

Almost no one else could hear it.

Autism is a developmental disorder, I was born 24 weeks premature and had a low chance of surviving but high risk of having developmental issues. The kind of autism I have affects my brain, my mood and even some of my fine and gross motor skills have been affected. The ADHD is what causes me to have behavioral problems and it’s moderate. When I get flustered or angry, I start to throw things around and have emotional outbursts. So yes, it’s possible to have both autism and ADHD.

This is like me at work, when I have a specific time for my ten minute break depending on the shift. I'm not even diagnosed, I just find it fascinating. One time I had a meltdown because of it.
I can SO relate to Shawn. Nearly wetted myself from laughter when he said the time he always eat because i always eat at the same time too. I am also rather sensetive when i get my lunch too late but i managed to train myself to eat the last bit of my apple on said time if there is a moment when i can't get my lunch in time. Eating the last piece of my apple from my morning snack often prevents meltdowns from getting my lunch late.
I get it. It's not the same, but I get anxious if I don't eat or drink on my favorite plate and mug. When I was younger I had a meltdown because we had a visit and my mom gave my mug to one of her friends... it's thing that feel meaningless to the others but feel like such a big deal for yourself.

My mom often had to tell me that the cup which had my favorite color was with the dishes so i could be prepered for if i drank in a cup with a differend color. I also have specific bowls for porridge or popcorn or chips. Porridge in microwave friendly bowls and snacks in movie themed bowls.
His breakdown in the emergency always annoyed me. He brought up the issue multiple times with no solution. I as a patient, have left a hospital earlier than I was meant to, now twice, from being unable to deal with the lights themselves in combination with a few buzzing loudly... disagree with me as much as you want (I understand the finance issues) but I really can't blame him for that even if I tried

I'm diabetic, for more than 50 years. Food on time matters for keeping my mind working. A banana is not lunch, but will keep your blood sugar up for an hour or more, especially a whole banana.
Listen, as someone dealing with the same problems as shaun i can tell you that the sand which was thrown out because the pickle was on the sand which, pickles are gross so the sandwich is no longer a viable option for eating.
