    You said in the beginning you no it’s not the boat that you bought and it’s not the boat for you, so I don’t think that you could give it a honest review and you definitely need to learn to drive it not an unbiased review

      I am finally going to share what actually happened with that boat. I was more than fair with that boat, it was undriveable. About 3 weeks after I did that review I got a call from the dealer that lent me the boat. The guy they sold it to had picked the boat up and on the drive home noticed the motor didn't look right. When he pulled over the motor was hanging from the transom by two bolts, both halfway backed out. Somehow during setup they never cranked the bolts tight so that is why I couldn't drive the boat, the motor was dancing all over the transom and I got lucky it didn't turn loose and really hurt me. Why did i never share this, I didn't want to make the dealer, who was a friend, look bad. I still don't especially since he has since passed away. But that is the full story from that test.

    Thanks.
    I refer to my last sentence in the Part 1 comment section. LOL. I had the DC and the 900lb xb 2002.
    I just went back in time to the older TR21X DC .We all have different needs and for me it had the V and height for big water. To finance $75,000 on up today for a rig I could not justify.
    When a 4 stroke with out 8 speed transmission, AC,GPS, hands free, satellite, cant bring you to get groceries but cost as much as the family car its a hard swallow. Your reviews are perfect balance of experience , needs and functionality. I would not claim to have the best boat but the one that does what I want it to do.

    You mentioned there are not many amenities, again you weren't shown the boat so you didn't know what amenities were present lol... Call Fast bass Marine and ask that specific question and you will get it answered. Many amenities on this boat, 1. Docking or Running Head Lamps, 2. 5 gal Trash receptacle 3. Bow handle (simple yet an amazing tool. 4. Quit stash storage cavities on port and starboard, You can store tool, extra gear, rope, first aid kits, live well weighing kits,, 5Compartment lighting, Courtesy lighting , live well lighting, 6 2 rear stern light receptacle one can be used tournament morning and the other can be for your GO Pro Pole (both are hot leads), 7.Shifter custom w/ security button for Merc. Meaning the engine wont start if accessed. 8.The raised textured internal cap area, extremely durable hides and protects against scratches. 9.The over sized live well drain for quick rinsing and draining (really nice), 10. Port side rod tubes cavities on the starboard side (allowing rods to be stored further back towards the drivers console and away from your stepping area. 11. Allison and had its trolling motor mount set length waves since the 80s not only helps with balance it makes it easier to deploy (significantly), 12. Notice all the deck lids? all flush mounted locks / that can be opened with one figure. No twist or turn and fight to align locks. When you shut the lids they latch and lock automatically. So there is 11 amenities you didn't know about or decided not to mention. One thing it was clear (evident) early on in these reviews you had already made a deal the factory of your boat. Obvious. And thats ok it just how you do things.

      The aluminum models, all 3 are having major issues with hull splitting because of torquing issues… Over 50% are going back to the factory to be re-hulled on a rig less than 12 months old.. Plants majorly backed up now because of the issue and short staffed… The glass boat is supposed to be a awesome rig with minimal issues but the highest priced boat on the market including higher than Bass Cat… They will not tell the weight of the glass boat period 🤷‍♂️ which tells me it’s extremely heavy therefore slow as well as the aluminum models… The 1890 aluminum model weights 2200lbs and comes with a 115hp 🥴 40mph.. nope nope nope… don’t do it…

    I fully dis agree with regarding the ride in rough chop is superior but first you have learn how to drive the hull sir. It does appear you changed your statement regarding rough water ride on the way back. I have driven in many hulls and rough chop, this hull is amazing in rough chop. but again from the video it is clear you didn't have enough seated time . Of course that is which all things considered like the boat was rigged correctly. You mention the possible toilet conversion but if you read at the base of the lid you will see large label that reads " trash receptacle." This was brilliant, especially for tournament guys who have a carpet full of line and old plastics on the floor. Its also awesome for holding ice . So the toilet option is just that -an option. People with special needs, maybe our veterans with bag issues so on. Or you lady.

  • @anglingcru3846
    @anglingcru3846 2 года назад +3

    ...this review is truly unfortunate . The drive clearly needs significantly more seating time. You can drive that boat with one had at 70 and no hands at 40/50. I am sure if he had more seating time he would improve. The Allison hulls are very very different and very versatile ! I have ran many hulls champions, Gambler, Legend, Bullet ss, Ranger21, Skeeter I-class..... and so on...all had something to offer but if you are talking multiple categories of true performance., ti goes to the xb21 hands down.

The design is far ahead of the competition with regards to storage capacity and layout. The boat is plenty big enough to fish two on the front deck due to the length of the deck. The cockpit is low and secure. You ride in the boat not ON it. Finish is unreal and a style that turns heads. I could go on and on. I’ll have some videos up on my channel in august. @KenSmithFishing  2 года назад +1

      Larry best ride I ever personally owned was the 55 mph 22’ Champion. But just like I talked about in my video there is give and take in every one, that boat was slow and listed like crazy when you fished in it. I picked the boat that, to me, had the best mixture of speed, fishability and rough water ride. If I were looking ONLY for ride, I’d be hard pressed not to look at a really big boat, of the boat I tested I was impressed with the Bullet (but again 21’10” and narrow at 91” beam), the Phoenix 21’6” and I always liked the ride of my Ranger 521C, All of those had trade offs, either big and slow, or narrow, or just boats I didn’t love. I didn’t get to run the Caymus or Vexus in rough water, so don’t know about them, and since I’ve experienced it now I’d be hard pressed not to throw the Jaguar in that mix. Not trying to avoid answering the question, but there’s a reason the highest score boat was an 84 out of 100.

    So we have determined:
    You can’t tell the difference in plastic and fiberglass (textured fiberglass interior).
    You have minimal experience driving a high performance hull.
    Driver ability is a huge factor in rough water capability.
    The dealer that allowed you to do this review should have educated you on the Allison brand before allowing your cameras to turn on and they should have never allowed a seat from 1970 to be allowed in the boat.
    Your reviews are biased based on the BCB deal already in play.

    • @KenSmithFishing
      @KenSmithFishing  Год назад +1

      Timothy you are obviously a an Allison guy and I respect that. This comment is on the edge of trolling which I normally delete. But in this case I will address. The boat I tested was undrivable, I know how to drive a boat, no matter what speed. Why was it undrivable? Because the motor mount bolts had come loose, they called me after the review and let me know that the motor was literally "hanging" from the transom by two bolts. I have left that alone since I did the review. I did the best with what I was provided and at this point if someone wants to bring me an Allison I will test another. HOWEVER what I do know from driving many ""high" performance boats is that, exactly as you say you have to "drive" them. So I ask you, if I can drive a Lynx at 76 miles per hour with one hand, why would I want a boat that I "have to know how to drive"?

    • @bullet21xrd37
      @bullet21xrd37 Год назад

      @@KenSmithFishing Respectfully….a troll I am not, however I am a representative of a small family owned business that can be greatly affected by a poorly executed review. However it also sounds like the dealer that was involved is at fault as well. There is no excuse for loose engine bolts and you should have been educated by the dealer enough to know the difference between fiberglass/gel and plastic as you called it.
      Driver input is part of any V bottom hull that is capable of running, look at all the Triton guys that complain about chine walk…its the nature of the beast.
      The Allison is not for everyone, it’s definitely a drivers boat. I’d be willing to bet I can take a 200 PXS or a 225 PXS and match or exceed the performance of most every 250 PXS powered hull out there. Its not due to the weight, because the XB-21 is not a tater chip. The efficiency of the hull is second to none. Build construction, fit, finish, etc is superior to anything out there….its just not a production line boat and the 4-5 people at the factory that build each boat take great pride in doing so.
      I will gladly provide you with a properly rigged Allison, How much horsepower can you handle?

    • @KenSmithFishing
      @KenSmithFishing  Год назад

      @@bullet21xrd37 Well I drove the Bullet with a 300R and loved how it handled, likewise the Jag with a 450 was a really comfortable 85 mph boat, I'll drive whatever up to my comfort level for speed, which I guess I have never found the top end, but from watching some videos I have no desire to go 100 mph in a boat. You noted by "bias", I truly have none, I don't sell boats, I sell life insurance, been fishing a longtime and through this process was looking for my boat. And you are correct, I knew early on that neither the Allison or Bullet were boats for me, too narrow a fishing platform at the bow, but I still gave my unbiased opinion based upon my experience in the boat.
