- Reviewing the Bullet 21 SDC bass boat, this is Video 11 in the "Before you buy a bass boat watch this" or The 2020-21 Bass Boat Search series of videos (see playlist on my channel) where I walk you through me spending the day in a bunch of different boat brands and models through the fall of 2020 looking for my next boat. If you didn't see the first 10 videos you can go back and watch them first, (reviewed Bass Cat Puma Hybrid the boat with the Champion 203 style hull, a Charger 210 Elite, a Ranger 521C & 520L and a Caymas CX21). This is review of a Bullet 21 SDC.
In this video I will score the boat 1-20 in 5 different categories, Fishability, Performance, Amenities, Fit & Finish and then a 5th catch all that includes feedback from friends that own them, trailer, options, feedback from fiberglass shops in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas asking them what they see as the best 3 boats, based upon construction, currently being built (since they see how we beat them up). And then we ask them which they see the most non-impact damage to the hulls with (least well built). Then for tournament anglers we include a 6th 20 point category looking to see who has the best contingency prize package available. Next up is a Phoenix!

You are correct on your Bullet review. I live in Dalton, GA and fish on Chickamauga, which is the Bullet capital of the fishing world, as they are built just up the road in Knoxville, TN. I have ridden in, and fished from several. As you noted, they ride good and are incredibly fast, but not for me either. The design is several years old. It's hard to tell a 2020 from a 2000 of the same model. They just haven't changed. There is no excuse for the web site not to be kept updated. That's something that can be kept current for a very reasonable amount of money. One of the guys that works for our company has a 2100 Gambler with a 250XB Mercury. Talk about a rocket! Fast and rides great as well. But like the Bullet, rod and tackle storage is lacking. I am enjoying your videos.

I have a 2017 Bullet Intracoastal and I think your review is spot on. I laid my color coordinated butt seat in the bottom of the boat first time I trailered it to keep bugs off. I had gotten about 10 miles down interstate and saw it fly straight up and out of the boat. I contacted Bullet and it took 6 months to get another one. The box lids on mine don't fit well no matter how much adjustment I have done. I shutter to think what I'll do if a pump goes out.

I’m currently rebuilding an old Gambler. It was cheap and I need a bass boat. It’s a process... I have no interest in going 70+ mph. I’m watching Ken’s videos to get ideas on what to do as I put this thing back together. Thanks for doing all this for us Ken!

Was on a lake yesterday and happened on a guy who had an Allison with the 300 racing Merc. i had to ask him how fast the boat would run? He told me if someone else drove it should top 100. With him driving he said about 85. Either one is too fast for me, but that Merc sure sounded great when he lit it off. I was hoping to see him running it but he went around a corner and never saw him again. Thanks Mr. Ken for doing these comparisons!

As far as having to run all of your tackle in the rear that's not 100% true. I have an xrs(single console version of the sdc) and run every stitch of tackle I own in the front. I use my boat to fish and I set it up for what is comfortable to me. My boat may be a few mph slower than the guy with the same motor and all his tackle in the rear but at the end of the day it's about comfort for me. I appreciate your videos keep them coming!

It’s the only the boat that has truly new features like the livewell system. The fact that it’s painted so if you ever want or need repairs it’s as simple as a paint job.power pole brackets molded into the transom so no brackets needed on the outside. Fuel tank running up center of the floor so no side to side slosh and lands soft. All slam latches with kicker plates. Air ride seats I mean where have those been forever!!! Bluetooth kill switch list goes on and on. The only thing that some people might not like is the speed she isn’t a go fast boat.
I had a 2004 gambler I loved it. 225 optimax would run 79.1 easy to drive.

Bullet and Allison's are built in Knoxville and Louisville TN. Don't know why i don't see hardly any Allison's, few Bullets but our lakes in East TN get rough so i am sure that's part of it. Love this series. I am looking to buy next year so your doing a lot of legwork for me! Lol. Wish Rangers were built like 2017 and before, wouldn't have to look but so far i love the Caymas. Curious to see if Phoenix has the smooth ride or more like a BassCat..
Allison is supposed to be a great rough water hull. I would love to see Ken in one.

@@tomcece3325 The old XB2002 and 2003 were light weights. the Bass Sports are I believe 1400# +/- hull. Very fast and great rough water hulls, due to the extremely deep V

Why do you think that? Terrible trailers, everyone I know that has one has had issues. Lots of plastic which doesn’t bother a lot of people but I don’t understand why manufacturers use it other than keep costs down. I know they ride well according to the owners but just about every owner seems to think that of their boat. Phoenix is popular but I just don’t see anything special. It’s a great boat I’m sure, just wondering why you think it’ll be his next boat.

Love this series but I must protest, apples to apples. Would it not be better to have the max of 250 HP just like the cap on the tours. Do not get me wrong I want to go fast. But I am Walleye guy thinking of buying a bass boat to expand guiding range. Fishing from a Nitro ZV21pro with 350 Verado and Wish it was a 400R or better yet 450R. Wish Allison made a Walleye boat.

You CAN front load the boat you just lose performance. My XRS with a bunch of crap in the front boxes will still run 83 with 2 people on board. It lifts and handles much better with the front boxes loaded light.

I ran an Allison BasSport Pro for 9 years. Amazing hull. It wont be your next boat, but I think you will enjoy it. If aluminum is an option, my current boat is a 300 hp rated 21' Gator Trax Strike Series. Same width at the bow seat hole as a Ranger Z520 (6').
