Wildstar had the best housing you can ever want and I never really had the urge to stay all day in my house, although it had all the needed amenities - crafting tables, gathering plots.
I'm with Growl here: Motherlode coming back is hype but 100% chance that Blizz makes so many changes that the dungeon will become hated. Count changes that force us to pull mobs in the final area, mobs everywhere will become chain casters, prob add a mechanic to a couple of the bosses.
A friend of mine wants it to avoid garrisons problem so suggested gathering nodes like garrisons that gave you a buff to gathering out in open world. ENCOURAGING you to still go out open world
“Ian said that player housing would cost us raid tiers but that was just an exaggeration right?” > Last 3 expansions have only had 3 raid tiers as opposed to 4 > Player housing announced for Midnight .. I guess he was right
Yeah but to be honest a lot of returning dungeons became a lot less toxic. Siege of boralus was the worst dungeon to pug ever and it's ok now so I'm optimistic.
Player housing + D.R.I.V.E = Custom race tracks. Perhaps custom dragon riding races as well. Guild Wars 2 has this with Guild halls + Beetle racing/Griffon riding and it's great!
Instantly going to "maybe if you get cutting edge you get the decoration" is exactly whats wrong with the playerbase. This is a feature casual players really want. If they cater this to the .01% of title players it will kill it for the majority ofnthe playerbase
Just because you have a reward for top players doesn't mean it's catered towards them. That's like saying they shouldn't add a reward for having like 1000 mounts because that's catered towards mount collectors, but I don't participate in that. If they are going down the route of adding rewards for achievements etc. to decorate your "house" then it should be for EVERYTHING.
I think you missed a few elements that could make player housing awesome. Incorporate professions - have things that each one can learn and create, something unique and interesting. Or better yet, new profession - architect or builder - someone who can learn and build different aspects of housing with specific aesthetics. Could have your place NE or dwarf or Tauren or nightborne themed. This could be an avenue for crafters to go down that could be lucrative and desirable that isn't tied to player power.
"the only thing they're reusing are the assets" yes please do this more blizzard. let the dungeon team cook without needing the art team to make anything.
Being happy about the road map and wanting motherlode not be bad are sorta at odds with eachother. Why these old dungeons brought back launch bad isnt them not understanding what a good and bad dungeons are but them running out of time to polish content. While having a set timeline for patches is good and fun for us, it's definitely not good for development. When the dungeon has to be ready for mid winter release there is less of a chance of them commiting on changing the dungeon to be modern and polished. Keeping it mostly the same and playing safe is far easier to make in time for a set launch date.
Growl absolutely nailed why I'm excited about housing. Some days I just want to be in Azeroth and not stress in m+/raid. I hope it leans towards ESO's housing (minus the in game store) and it's level of customization and interaction with crafting. A lot of what Squishei was suggesting is in ESO.
You would be a lot better off in your life in general if when you felt that urge you did other things or played other games. Wow is not worth of your time like that, everyone deserves better
Topic for the next pod: Thoughts on clean UI vs too much information on screen? One thing I appreciate about Liquid’s broadcast was always how clean the UI is for the broadcast POV. When I watch Gingi do M+, I don’t even know what I’m looking at lol
Ngl would be kind of fire if they just brought back corruption powers on the 11.1.5 patch but only allowed you to equip a max of 3 level one corruption pieces or one max level 3 corruption without the negative side effects. Like for example 11.1.5 xal'athat introduces a corruption rift and before 11.2 starts we close the rift off and the corruption powers disappear. I'd give em bonus points if they brought back the awakened affix and they replaced challengers peril with it omfg that patch would go so hard if they did that.
I’d love to see a ZA or ZG added to M+. I think ZA particularly has a semi-decent setup for it from the timed runs for the Bear mount and could translate well. Also, bring back Maw of Souls. 4 minute speedruns for life!
I’d love to see Xalatath make a “deal” with Gallywix knowing that he can easily be taken advantage of by the sound of money. Xalatath can play him like a puppet, and it’s a sad story of both manipulation for personal gain, and being blinded by the almighty dollar.
The worry about player housing making everything feel empty only happened with Garrisons because you had to be IN the garrison to do a lot of things. In FFXIV there's player and free company (guild) housing and there's no shortage of players in main city hubs and just waiting around in the world. In fact, sometimes it's wild just HOW many people wait by the aetheryte or are in the main cities just talking in general chat to each other (something that rarely happens in WoW now because of all the fuckin ads people push in there). Sure, some people just stay at their house but by and large people want to be in community with others. The only way Blizzard could muck it up is by making core gameplay mechanics require you to be only in your player housing like they did with garrisons which I don't think they'll make that mistake again.
I think the fact that they havent announced player housing as attached to an expansion (yet) means they can take their time and dont need to tie to other expansion mechanics like garrisons
I loooved visions cause it was the first harder solo content that i actually got good at. I know they werent that hard in the end but i loved progressing them. I liked the optionality of the mask affixes that you could choose, the rotation between oggrimar and stormwind and helping friends doing them. Yea it got a bit boring by the end when i was just farming them but at same time i got way faster at doing them so wasn't a big deal either i think.
Warband camp collections should be a part of Warband feature since day1, we got MVP only, I hope in future we get fully fledged out features instead. Can you imagine player housing day1 being not customizable and having to wait until next major patch to start collecting your house decorations? That would be horrible.
Dude. You’re being mad to be mad. It’s not that huge a a deal it’s not “not fully fledged out” it’s a nice addition they’re adding once they realized how much people enjoyed the war and screen.
visions were leagues ahead than delves as solo content ! thematic was amazing difficulty was high at least in the start and pillars as seasonal was amazing as well
I love my Fallout 76 house and I love my Path of Exile house. I've had people compliment my hideout in Path of Exile, it looks like something the developers would've made, I spent way too much time laying down doodads and themes in there, plus PoE is 100% open with it, they don't lock crap and put it in a store, you can get everything without buying anything, but they do have some housing stuff in the store anyway. I like building in single player games too. Project Zomboid, Terraria, Valheim, shoot The Sims, Fallout 4, etc.
Potential loss of a new zone in the 3rd patch is kinda sad Also, for the new horrific visions: theyll prob do another armor piece (ala bfa neck or pandaria cloak) for resistance and then prob do torghast style power chooser to replace the azeroth neck abilities
also, regarding the Dragon Riding Races, i think it would have been more successful if it had been queable in the dungeon finder. maybe with daily/weekly rewards or something. If i'd be able to que up for a race in Undermine with 11 other people, it could be fun. especially if they keep adding new tracks to the game.
That comment about I got 30 let me log in and do something quick is a big thing for me. I like the group stuff but I want some more interesting things to interact with in shorter burst 20-30 minute chunks would be awesome to help fill in the gaps.
“Harder dungeons that don’t have a timer” was supposed to be the new M0. I think season 4 DF was generally there. M0 in TWW is too easy and not rewarding enough.
Player housing could get interesting. If they have assets that they were working on from the survival game project that got cancelled and move it into WoW... It leaves me hopeful it could be really well done

DRIVE sounds like they saw the roller beetle mount in guild wars 2 and want to bring it to wow which would be so cool depending on how them implement this
player/guild "housing" isn't really a new concept , we had guildhalls back in GW1 , SWTOR has Player housing and guild housing , TESO has a good player housing system , Wildstar back in the day , really good housing with a lot of knick knacks , final fantasy is really good aswell , Blizz just needs to look to the left and right and pick up the "good" things and not blow it :D

Stuff like leveling together and doing Deadmines or SM is hype for that crowd of ppl.
Blizzard is going to pull a Blizz with player housing and timegate it somehow. So instead of just having a player house your way they will force you to engage with it. Thats my guess
