If you like the apricot delights you should try fruchocs a South Australian delicacy made by Menz. And while yes, Cadbury is the main chocolate in supermarkets, the best chocolate in Australia (as far as I’m concerned) is made by Haigh’s, an old South Australian family owned company which still produce all their chocolate in their factory in Adelaide.

This is so weird to me because my family are from England and Ireland, I'm the first person born here in Australia and I have never heard English people be so unfamiliar with Australia 😂 like calling Tasmania "tazzie" Tassy and saying "isn't that an island?". Australia and England are so connected, it's strange to hear people talking more like how unfamiliar Americans would be with Australia
Cherry Ripe, like so many other chocolate bars through our history, used to be made by MacRobertson’s, which was a family business based in Melbourne. Cadbury bought the business. Rowntree Hoadley’s was another Chocolate company that disappeared, as did Small’s which made Club Dark Chocolate. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacRobertson%27s
Pineapple lumps were always a nz thing but maybe about 2 years ago now they sold them to Australia and they arent the same anymore 😭 the chocolate used to be so good on them but not as good in my opinion
I'm British but I've been living in Tasmania, Australia for 16yrs. The chocolate here in Aus tastes different because sugar cane is used in Australia as its less likely to melt and sugar beet in UK :)
Cherry Ripe, my favourite, was not a Cadbury invention at all. It was made by a rival Australian chocolatier named MacRobertson’s and first appeared in 1924. They were founded in Melbourne in 1880 and was taken over by Cadbury in 1969 after the death of Sir Macpherson Robertson in 1967. Cherry Ripe still carried the MacRobertson’s name until around 1980 before being branded Cadbury. Since then, they have shrunk in size but they are also now available in dark chocolate and double choc coating. Btw, the Bundaberg Ginger Beer? You’re meant to gently flip shake it to mix the sediment back through. The taste is stronger then. But beware opening.😁 You cleared.up, too, why Cadbury US is so off tasting. If it’s made in the Hersheys factory, that explains it. Hersheys is my vote for the most disgusting Western chocolate. Some items are available here but not big sellers. I’ve had it in Canada, too. No better. Won’t touch anything with it in. It reminds me of chocolate immediately post Communist era in Hungary. 🤢
I'm American, but can't stand about 99% of chocolate made here. I've got a European food store close to my work and I am now spoiled on Tim Tams, Walkers Wotsits, etc.
Very cool box, I have a good friend who lives in Australia, she visited here in California before the pandemic started, she had planned on bringing some Australian Treats, but when it came to packing for a 2 week trip, they were limited in space. I'll have to see if she wants to do a little friend box exchange. Thanks for sharing your tasting with us, they're always fun.
Hey guys, I absolutely love ginger beer. I have actually had the Bundaberg ginger beer. Such a spicy and delicious ginger beer. I might just get one to enjoy because of watching your video. I hope y’all are “Makin’ Bank!” Lol. -Zach
Tip from an Aussie - with the ginger beer bottle, you can put the cap back on and slip a straw under the foam liner. It holds the straw in the bottle and keeps the flies out of your drink too.
Hershey makes our Cadbury chocolate here in the states. They use sugar as their main ingredient where UK Cadbury uses milk. Only the Cadbury made by Hershey can be sold in the US. Hershey owns the licensing rights.
Aussie here, I’m definitely not a fan of bundi ginger beer but I do love the bundi creaming soda! It’s amazing! Also massive vegemite fan I used to eat it from the jar as a kid 😂 I’ve never had vegemite nuts and didn’t even know it was a thing, but also never seen that raspberry lemonade ever! Also Allens are my favourite lollies ever
The reason the Murray River tim tams contain both the solid caramel and the cream, even though it seems redundant, is that they're part of a series of tim tams designed specifically for tim tam slamming. The flavours are richer and more distinct when wet, and the solid caramel is there to hold the biscuit together so you get a proper slam.
@@paulinapanaxia89 well now I can't watch anymore videos because all I'm going to be doing is inspecting the backgrounds for any ' unusually ' shaped lamps, the videos about the food why were you staring at the lamps though 😅😁
Cadbury in Australia has decreased in quality of the past 5 years. They have changed to lower quality ingredients and is sometimes made overseas apparently. It is a lot more waxier, which I attribute some of it to be able to withstand the hot summers.
They make them in Tasmania and down the road from me in Ringwood. The smell when it’s what we locals call “Pouring day” is delicious. The area just smells of chocolate.
That was another good box and video. The chocolate with the cherry and coconut sounds delicious to me. I love cherry and I love coconut. A coconut butter chess pie is my favorite pie, especially the ones my grandmother used to bake. Have a good and safe week.
Yes, I think Cadbury is our most popular chocolate. I’ve heard it taste different to UK because they use a different recipe that doesn’t melt as easily in our summer heat! (That kind of fails when you get to 35 deg + though!) Pineapple lumps are actually New Zealand. But we Aussies have a habit of stealing anything great from there and claiming it as our own 🤣 I’d love to send you some more Aussie treats whenever you are accepting boxes again. There’s still plenty of things you haven’t yet tried.
Cadbury is definitely no.1 here. However as lots of people have said we have a different ingredient to stop melting, I actually don’t like the Cadbury chocolate from overseas because I’ve grown up with Cadbury’s here and the extra non-melty ingredient
The chocalate factories would be using milk from the local country in their recipes , which is why the flavour and texture can change too. Cabbury also bought out some smaller companies and kept their products like Cherry Ripe.

How full do you guys get making these videos?! Genuinely curious 😂 like do you skip lunch and make this your lunch or??
If you like the apricot delights you should try fruchocs a South Australian delicacy made by Menz. And while yes, Cadbury is the main chocolate in supermarkets, the best chocolate in Australia (as far as I’m concerned) is made by Haigh’s, an old South Australian family owned company which still produce all their chocolate in their factory in Adelaide.
That ginger beer with Vodka and mint and lots ice is delicious in summer xx
Its so fascinating how different countries have so much tasty snacks and drinks. I'm not a big fan of marmite, but don't mind marmite crisps or twiglets. Lol. You guys make me smile while watching your vids.
Those shaped crackers are so cool! Would love to see a cracker in the shape of Canada...it'd have to be the size of a laptop though :)
Australia isn’t all that much smaller than Canada. Around 2/3-3/4 of the size.
HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT THIS CHANNEL?! Love your videos!
Wow what a great box of treats. Everything looked delicious. The party mix lollies looking amazing I wish we could get them in the United States. Now I am intrigued to see if I can get an Australian treat box to order and send myself. Oh and I love you Kate when you throw a little Broadway singing in these videos.
I’m keeping it simple. I love 💕 Kate and Alex 😊. They are so much fun to watch. 👍. Great box 📦
You’re so lovely Lynda ♥️💕♥️ thank you!!!
Pineapple lumps were always a nz thing but maybe about 2 years ago now they sold them to Australia and they arent the same anymore 😭 the chocolate used to be so good on them but not as good in my opinion
Ah no!! Hate when that happens!
Because chocolates are made different in every country 🤷🏽♀️
I'm British but I've been living in Tasmania, Australia for 16yrs. The chocolate here in Aus tastes different because sugar cane is used in Australia as its less likely to melt and sugar beet in UK :)
Actually soy lecithin is added to chocolate in Australia to stop it from melting not sugarcane! Sugar itself is processed from sugarcane.
Wow I haven’t had the atomic tomato chips since primary school! This is bringing back so many memories!
Loll so fun seeing Kate having a sugar rush
But beware opening.😁
You cleared.up, too, why Cadbury US is so off tasting. 🤢
The bottle is designed to resemble the old-style Australian beer Stubby, complete with the ring pull top
You have to make a trip to Australia when you can.
Aussie chocolate has an extra additive because it would melt even on a ‘cold’ day. That’s why it tastes so different.
Take a shot everytime they make a "mmm" sound
The root beer by the small bottle Bundabury is SOO GOOD!
You need to read the back story behind the tim tam flavour
❤️Kate Alex greatest Candy box ever . Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️🌹🍫🍫
It was so awesome!! Happy Valentine’s Day to you too ♥️💕♥️💕♥️
Hey guys, I absolutely love ginger beer. I have actually had the Bundaberg ginger beer. Such a spicy and delicious ginger beer. I might just get one to enjoy because of watching your video. I hope y’all are “Makin’ Bank!” Lol. -Zach
I love watching you guys and I love getting the snack box I will have to recoding us trying them
Australian choc has caking agent in it to prevent it melting, apparently, which modifies the taste!
Not in Darrell lea
I am happy when you both upload a new video, haha. Thank you very much!

Yaay happy to hear this 😀😀😀
I’m from Tassie (the little island down the bottom), and was hoping to send you some of our local treats! X
Theres a place called federation chocolate in tas and i always buy from there, great stuff
I thought so that their main ingredient is Sugar in the US Cadbury.
I think Cadbury Aus switched to Americas formula for their chocolate bars because it used to be much creamier a few years ago.
Hi Kate and Alex
From Finland 🇫🇮
Hey Helena! Enjoy watching 😀😀
The only thing i see is the shape of the lamps in the back, now i can’t unsee it.
I didn't even notice that until I saw your comment... now I can't unsee it either 😂
@@thomascrouch2301 hahahahha i know
@@paulinapanaxia89 well now I can't watch anymore videos because all I'm going to be doing is inspecting the backgrounds for any ' unusually ' shaped lamps, the videos about the food why were you staring at the lamps though 😅😁
Yay finally another Aussie box!! 🇦🇺🥳😍 the Vege chips are my fave!! 😋😍😘💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚 love you guys! 💕
Cadbury in Australia has decreased in quality of the past 5 years. They have changed to lower quality ingredients and is sometimes made overseas apparently. It is a lot more waxier, which I attribute some of it to be able to withstand the hot summers.
Some Cadbury products are imported, however, Cadbury is still making most of their products for the Australian market, here in Australia.
If you like coconut and cherry you'd definitely love a Cherry Ripe. They aren't fake cherry flavour. They're lovely.
In Canada we would call Sweets Candy.
lmfao I love those apricot squares I was just waiting for his reaction I knew he would love them
Tassie! haha
Just so you know it pronounced tazzie :D
Ahh thank you Lizzie!
Enjoyed watching this! Everything looks delicious.
Yes, I think Cadbury is our most popular chocolate. I’ve heard it taste different to UK because they use a different recipe that doesn’t melt as easily in our summer heat! (That kind of fails when you get to 35 deg + though!)
Pineapple lumps are actually New Zealand. But we Aussies have a habit of stealing anything great from there and claiming it as our own 🤣
I’d love to send you some more Aussie treats whenever you are accepting boxes again.
Soy lecithin is added to Aus chocolate to stop it melting!
In Australia we have like Cadbury as the main and then Lindt is also really big but Cadbury I would say is more big
Thanks for letting us know Lily 🥰
Nestle is a big seller as well
The chocalate factories would be using milk from the local country in their recipes , which is why the flavour and texture can change too.
Cabbury also bought out some smaller companies and kept their products like Cherry Ripe.
