Developed by Namco and released by Tengen in 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), RBI Baseball was the first console game to be licensed by the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). The game features rosters for eight Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, although it was not licensed by Major League Baseball, so there are no team names or logos used in the game.
In addition to the eight MLB teams, there were two all-star teams with the American League and National League.
Quite the advanced game for 1988, every player in the game featured different abilities which related to their real-life abilities, such as: hitting power, base running speed, and pitcher stamina, and with 8 starting batters, four bench players, two starting pitchers, and two relievers, this game features quite the combination of abilities.

To throw a changeup you just hold Up. Down is for a fastball. Once the pitch is thrown, you can't change it, so pressing Down after it's thrown does nothing. Pressing Down does not help the ball drop. Each pitcher has a stat that controls how often it happens.
