    "You should be a little bit ashamed of playing [the bass]"...spoken like a true bass player. Mike is the man.

    "This Toilet Earth" is killer! Saw em on that tour, X-Cops opened for em.

    Got the chance to talk to Bishop and Orr recently at a Gwar show and when I told them I was getting back into playing bass their immediate response was "oh that's a mistake." No one hates themselves like a bass player does. 10/10

      Thats hilarious! I went to their show and told jizmak he got me into playing drums. He then came back off stage and gave me a signed pair of sticks that also read "dont stop playing." I cry everytime i think of it. Such amazing guys.

      @haleya9526 my wife and I have a signed pair of sticks that say "happy wedding!" on them. She presented them to me at our wedding! They're all such nice dudes. Tommy (grodius) fits right in with that.

    Scum Dogs came out when I was in ninth grade. Beef Cake helped seal the deal for me to get a bass. Totally awesome video. Thanks

      Man horror of yig and maggots were some of my favorite basslines on that album, let alone the album itself..really hardcore sounding..def influenced me to play bass...

    I was always a huge GWAR fan since Scumdogs came out. I bought the Kepone album as soon as it came out not knowing Bishop was on Bass and vocals. I bought it because of a review from one of the many magazines I was reading at the time. Probably Black Market magazine or Ben is dead magazine. Anyways I really loved it and it finally clicked one day I was like I know this voice and Bass style. I read the liner notes and couldn’t believe it!!! That Kepone album is still one of my favorites to this day and I listen to it regularly. I have it on CD and cassette. I have a single 7inch from it on vinyl but never found the LP.

    I have never listened to Gwar before , but it takes a genius to write such basslines because of the dissonances and making it good and not sounding "false" Such a gentleman with an amazing spirit and infectious laugh!

    I sure hope Gibby's doing okay.. I haven't heard from him since Dave's last tour. My old bass player still got Corey's Tour schecter that we traded the rectifier for... I lost all my gear in the Park fire last week.. I was able to grab five guitars all my brass stack a custom case and Pisces signatures part of my the bubinga Starclassic a box of petals, the king of tone and the klon was in there along with three eighties DOD 250s one of them was a gray box.. 90s Dave mustaine Jackson silver sparkle.. I sure hope Gibby's doing a better than me!

    • @theberserkerblothar8548
      @theberserkerblothar8548 Год назад +15

      Well, he didn't ask me to play any Black Sabbath. I don' know many of his lines anyway. I learned a few cool Sabbath riffs over the years, but I always thought his greatness was most evident in the free flowing, almost improv, blues jam stuff he does...and his writing of course.
