Me as well. This buggy deserves more quality aftermarket parts. Turning out to be among some of my favorite from tamiya.. Thanks for watching 🤟

I’m coming at this kind of bass-ackwards I saw the build before this preview. I built this kit a few years ago and I had the same misgivings about the G11 part that you did. In fact several RUclipsrs warned about this particular weakness in the kit. Fortunately, I was one of the few that was able to get the rcEvoLogic aluminum G11 before they stopped making them, as well as their gold anodized front and rear shock towers (including all the extra screws and nuts). These parts are difficult, if not impossible, to find nowadays and your 3D printed/carbon fiber solution is probably the best way to go. I have those pink wheels in another kit and I am not too sure about them. I’d like to have a different color, but the pink wheels are sort of limited edition and I hate to mess them up. I think your dyeing idea is great and I will have to try it on a different car. I will definitely have to find an Avante driver as I used the stock driver and it looks awful. Just as a note of interest, rcEvoLogic is still advertising gold anodized aluminum parts for the “Dragon” series of cars (Thunder Dragon, Fire Dragon, Saint Dragon etc).

😂 No worries, thanks for checking them out. Funny you mentioned about the rcEvologic parts for the fire dragon series. I just picked up a Terra scorcher & fire dragon and was just looking at the parts for them this morning.. I think I’m going to go with his full kit for the Terra scorcher. It ain’t cheap but I feel the kit deserves it. Probably do jazrider parts for the fire dragon.. I really enjoyed upgrading and modifying the upgraded plastic G11 part I found. Look forward to taking it out as I’m not worried about it anymore

@@NoNoRc You should look into a Tamiya TT02BR. The TT02B kit is sort of a standard off road kit, but the basic kit leaves a lot to be desired. But there are zillions of TT02 upgrades out there. The BR kit has most of the best upgrades and leaves out the pointless bling (like aluminum a-arms). It also has no tires and no electronics leaving you to select something you like. The main thing it leaves out (only Tamiya knows why) is the aluminum motor mount, which I consider essential. It comes with a Neo Scorcher body, but minimal stickers. Any body that works on a TT02B will work on this though. This was the last kit I built, almost a year ago.

The G11 won't be brittle for years. You can drive it with no worries for a long time. I made my own carbon fiber G11 out of 2mm sheet, and metal posts. You can do it easily with patience and a rotary tool. I'll make a video about it, if you're interested.

Yes, please do make a video. That would be awesome. Would love to make more carbon fiber pieces myself and get better at it. Thanks for the comment 👍
