Close shave! We have plans to truck the cars West and then drive some of the best roads on the way back East . . . as life / work allows of course. Not a full time RUclipsr just yet!
We do have it marked as a future "to do". Our virtual scouting showed it had just a center line stripe. How would you rate the safety for spirited driving? We also have VA 606 marked! Sounds like a great link up. Thank you for the suggestion. Cheers.
@@trueview3127 I was actually wrong about the route - it's VA (not WV) 311 through Paint Bank. I believe WV 311 becomes VA 311 around Sweet Springs. I drove the route a few months back and while the WV side has a few tighter corners with guardrails and tighter run offs going towards VA, the sections of the mountain once passing over into VA are fantastic for spirited drives. Just be wary of any local cops around New Castle on the VA side of Potts mountain. I grew up in the area so I know a handful of great roads around southwest VA. 311 is one of the best I've encountered and has some amazing views of the Blue Ridge.
@@trueview3127 No problem. There's a few great routes around the WV / VA border that span the mountains and tend to be less frequently traveled. I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for any other suggestions on my travels through that area.
We have run 311 and 606 a few years ago before we had all the camera gear fully sorted. They are both great, but very tight, from what I recall. Sounds like it is time to revisit them!
Amazing work that you are selflessly doing for us enthusiasts. I really like the historical commentary in this one (and that pass at the very end!). If it isn't too super secret what kind of camera setup do you use for the central viewing video, wondering what the camera is attached to.
Appreciate that very much. The history is thanks for a great local lady who has a website with the history of Rock WV. rockwestvirginia.com/overview/ The cam position isn’t a secret. There are track form articulated arms attached to a super clamp off the cross brace. Will have a video showing the full setup soon. Just got the footage this past weekend.
Ohio State Route 26 north out of Marietta, Ohio needs to be driven, if you are ever in the area. Not overly long, but still lots of fun... mid-day, mid-week.
You guys are living my dream!
Appreciate it! Glad you are on board!
Talk about narrow - yikes! When are you heading out West to try some canyons? Can't wait to see some classic West Coast roads on the channel!

That was definitely tight! Almost had to fold in the mirrors.
@@kendamer1480 Probably should have! Maybe a new "narrow" driving mode is needed?
An MX-5 would absolute eat here
Great choice for a road this tight. Check out our review of VA-33 with the MX-5 chasing down the P cars.

You all should add WV 311 to your list - it's fantastic. Could do it the same drive as VA 606 Grove Hill Road.

Love the local knowledge. Thanks for the recommendation

Oh man! Rock chip city!
We escaped the rock chips - mostly anyway. With how much we drive and follow pretty close - those can't really be avoided actually.

Great suggestion- thanks!
I hit 71 by accident one of the days I was driving RT10. Really tight but fun!
It’s a tight one for sure! Reach out and touch some rocks if you want to
Ever think about coming to the driftless region of Wisconsin?
Was looking at the maps there - some flowing stuff for sure! What is your fav?
