- This video shows you how to speed up Windows 7. The methods shown in the video are completely safe and will improve the performance of Windows 7.
The first two tips detail how you can free up your computer's resources by modifying the visual aspects of the Windows software. The last two tips deal with how to disable features or applications which are rarely used.
By making the few changes recommended in this video, you will significantly speed up Windows 7.
I followed the steps (except the disable search) and my laptop's speed definitely improved! Thank You!!!

Thanks a lot man, gone through multiple things to get the speed back nothing major happend. But your single video have done so much change in the speed. No technical BS which a lot of people do, just simply got my work done. Great work, really appreciate it.
'Desktop Composition' may be disabled if you are not using an 'Aero' theme. It is the feature that is designed to prevent tearing (stripes across the screen) with moving windows around, some videos/videos players and certain games (though frame rate will usually increase if Desktop Composition is disabled). Set it explicitly to your liking under the 'Advanced Performance Settings' shown in the video.
Other settings not mentioned, such as disabling C-States (in the system BIOS Setup, but under a variety of names such 'Idle Power Savings') and turning off 'PCI Express' 'Link State Power Management' can improve the performance of Windows and applications on some systems (but at the expense of increasing power usage).
Clicking 'Apply' just before clicking 'Ok' is unnecessary. There may be a few exceptions to this in very old versions of Windows and some (poorly written) 3rd party applications. 'Apply' is for investigating the effect of a change without closing the dialog box, which is usually only necessary for certain types of settings (e.g., graphics or audio related) where an instantaneous effect might need to be examined closely before closing the dialog box.
As an it Tech i upvote this vid, almost everything shown is correct. Especially tweaking the performance options can really make a difference on lower tier hardware and craptops.

Tips to speed up your PC window 7.
1. computer < windows < Temp and then delete all the files inside.
2. computer < windows < Prefetch and then delete all the files inside.
3. control panel < system and security < advanced system settings < performance setting < and then the more you have checked the slower your PC will be.
4. control panel < uninstall a program and then uninstall the programs (not needed only)
5. Open one or more program at a time. ( 1 or two programs only is RECOMMENDED )
6. Download Kaspersky antivirus to scan your computer ( free 30 day trial )
7. If your computer have games that cant be handled then delete them.
Disable prefetch in "services". Also disable search indexing (in some releases it is "windows search". In control panel>programs and features>add or remove windows features, remove what you dont use.

Dropping in to say that stripping down the visuals as per the step around (4:20) 100% sped up my computer and was easy to do. I did keep the "show thumbnails>icons" box however because it made my desktop look way too bare. Otherwise, great tutorial and I hope it helps whoever passes through.

There's one more thing you could have added, when you go to control panel, choose battery, choose additional plans and tick the square next to High Performance

How to make your pc fast :
Open up your Monitor
remove everything
put a sonic plush inside it
Close it.
Go to PC (the one that has ram,storage,etc)
Destroy everything it has inside.
put a sonic plush (Recommended : Giant Sonic Plush)
Play Asphalt 9 on it. :)

this actually helped I have a ASU’s computer running windows 7 and I followed your steps and it actually sped it up I want to say thank you 🙏 the computer was taking ages to switch users and load up chrome and ie but with this it can actually speed up I’ve used the word (actually) a bit, well thanks 🤧😁👍

2:40 While that Performance Options window is open you can also go to the Advanced tab and customise the virtual RAM to 1.5 - 2x the physical RAM in the machine. It is always set to a low value, just increase it.

There are 3 ways to speed up PC:
1. Upgrade to big RAM
2. Upgrade to SSD storage
3. Clean up PC regularly
For step 3, My choice is WinUtilities (Awards Winning Solution to Clean Up & Speed Up PC). I have used it many years, it works great. You can search WinUtilities in google to find it.

Now after this and various others adjustments it runs at 60 FPS and great quality

With older architecture, these tutorials should be viewed by anyone and everyone. There is no reason to buy newer hardware if you don't mind a more simple theme, and less features not used anyways.
