    I prefer floss picks since they are easier to hold for me. But I also do have string floss and a water pik, which I need to use more often. Also, the shoelace comment made me laugh. I remembered my Dad getting food stuck in his teeth at a festival and it bothered him. So he used a stiff piece of paper and got the food out. It worked in a pinch!

    When I use floss picks to floss I go below the gum line and try to hug the tooth,something I also do just to make sure I got it is to use the floss pick things at the bottom of some floss picks which I’d helpful for the harder to reach stuff and I think it helps with messaging the gums more and im working on flossing and brushing both morning and night, it still hurts and my gums are in pain which didn’t start until I started brushing and flossing but I know it’s cuz I barely brush and floss and that’s why it hurts now and that my gums won’t be in pain in at least 2 weeks, maybe longer cuz idk yet but that’s what I’ve heard but I go it will go away when I’m consistent, one thing I recently learned is that when you brush your supposed to brush your teeth we’re your gums are cuz that’s were plaque is and I found out that when you floss you have to also floss the last tooth which I didn’t know the last one till watching the video

      @gabrielsanchez6318 Год назад +1

      You can get laughing gas beforehand to help relax you for the numbing shots. I just had all mine taken out a couple weeks ago and only received numbing, so I’m not sure about the whole sedation part of it.

      How did the shots feel?

    • @gabrielsanchez6318
      @gabrielsanchez6318 Год назад

      @@emiliemurano4280 they weren’t too bad. They’re just like normal shots you get at the dentist but it kind of does feel like they go a little deeper. I think I had a total of 8 shots? 1 on the outer side of each tooth and 1 on the inner side of each tooth, is what it felt like.
      The ones that did kinda hurt were the 2 on the inner-upper part of the mouth. Feels like a pinch, but it’s not like an omg type of pain and only lasts a few seconds.
      The shots also can cause your heart to race a little bit and make you a little anxious because of what’s in them. That’s what my dental assistant said and I felt it for a few minutes lol because actually the shots don’t numb you, they take away the sensation of pain in your mouth. So normally when you leave the dentist and can’t feel your mouth after being numb, this isn’t like that. Just my experience though at the specific office I went to.

    • @emiliemurano4280

      @@emiliemurano4280 you’re welcome! I understand the fear of needle injections lol I don’t really like them either, but the good part is that you don’t really have to see them do it. I just looked up, by rolling my eyes, to avoid having to see what the needles looked like and how long they are. Maybe try that? And don’t forget to breathe through your nose.

    @2:46 "If you need to use your shoelace that's fine!" --"I'm running with it!" 😂 Would running shoelace been too on the nose?!😂 Btw, great tip on bending the pick!!! Regarding the tool you showed at around 1:56, what was that

    I tried the picks. It wasn't for me. I've used a Reach flosser from Listerine. Does the bending apply with those as well?

    • @TeethTalk

      nope you can use the same pick throughout the mouth, rinsing it when there's debris on it -- hope this helps!

    My mouth is so small they need to use child size instruments at the dentist. I cannot fit my hands in my mouth to floss with string. I only use picks to floss because that’s my only option other than a water flosser.

    I never leave my house without at least one floss pick in my purse. I really, really hate the feeling of stuck food in my mouth. I tell my husband it's a "brain itch".
