I am convinced by now that Sylvia is either a psychopath, or one heck of a tough woman, for being able to show up like this unapologetically and openly, all while bearing the pain that came with the downfall of her career and her dignity. Whether or not she is telling the truth, or if there is ever a fair way of saying whether someone is ultimately right or wrong, I respect her. No one deserves to be treated or attacked like that.

The sequence and way the allegations were released is orchestrated. Someone or a group has meditated and planned to bring her down. This video is shot continuously, I don’t think she is lying. I’m not siding her but smells like foul play.

1. View matters impartially based on facts, common sense and how you’d like to be treated. Not trial by mob.
2. Smearing anyone - man or woman - with slander is sickening
3. Sylvia’s toxic language to Samantha is separate issue to other accusations. For that she must apologise.
4. Leaking confidential accounts is a violation of privacy and unethical
5. Much of the slander about Sylvia’s private life has been proven to be untrue.
6. Those who were silent whilst she was being smeared, suddenly don’t like it when people question their own moral fibre.
7. Some claim to be “old enough to know” things. Would they like it if their own partner spends late nights with members of the opposite sex and blurs the lines between work and pleasure?
8. Much of the “Mr. Clean” image of Ryan has been shown to be a myth. Both in terms of private conduct (look at how he speaks which is toxic) and business conduct.
9. Paying employees is a responsibility of BOTH Ryan and Sylvia. Not only one.
10. Backdating resignation - think why Ryan wants to do that. Looks like violating duty as NOC director and means Reno King is NOC property.
11. Matters relating to workplace flaws should be reported to authorities. Allegations should not be hurled like mud to denigrate the image of a company or person.
12. It very much looks like this is nothing more than a coup attempt and/or smear campaign to totally tarnish Sylvia. And frankly it worked - in her own words she became “the shit of Singapore.” Now it’s boomeranging back on the conspirators.
13. Imagine if it was you. Treat others how you would like to be treated. It’s not about being a man/woman/employer/employee. And not about what the internet mob thinks. Think about what is right and wrong, what is legal or illegal and what has now been proven or disproven in her response (which included screenshots).
14. Think about who benefits from each accusation and a smear campaign.

아륀 Really used to enjoy their content and really shocked and disappointing to see the way some of them behave now and NOC in chaos. I think after this latest, it’s becoming more clear that this has been a lowly, gutter level and deliberate smear campaign. Whatever the toxic language used by Sylvia, that is a totally separate thing to slandering her persona/character in the mud via trial by mob. Goes to show that a particular camp - some of whom MAY have embarked upon this “revolution” with noble intentions - are more interested in destroying her, discrediting her and ultimately carry out a coup at NOC, or cause its destruction for nefarious ends. A lot of people haven’t impartially and calmly analysed and read even half of the various “exposes” before forming opinions (from both so called camps).
Before this video, the name calling of Samantha indeed was unacceptable. The other spurious slander about Sylvia was nothing to do with being a toxic boss, or pay. Yet many of those lambasting Sylvia remained eerily and noticeably silent. That was unbecoming of people supposedly purely concerned about workplace conditions. Such things about work conditions should have been taken up with the authorities if anything serious was seriously happening. In addition, leaking various confidential information about finances is immoral and a serious violation of privacy and business/accounting laws. I frankly find it appalling that many people who rose to fame, or gained much more popularity, primarily because of NOC itself would resort to such underhand, dishonourable and gutter level behaviour. In the end, they would bring the whole building crashing down not only on the CEO, but on themselves as well. Cutting off the nose to spite the face. Mutually assured self destruction. Sylvia certainly has to apologise for abusive/blunt name calling. But the rest of it, to dehumanise only her reeks of double standards. Now, those who shamelessly and mercilessly attacked and smeared her, or who by their silence condoned it, are not keen on the situation being reversed and their own personal character, moral fibre and actions being called into question! What is good for the goose is good for the gander! You don’t make new friends by destroying old ones. Many of the talents seem to have forgotten where they came from. If they truly disliked the place, and left then get on with your life. Why the hell engage in this gossip and campaign of destruction?
As far as finances go, like you all pointed out, doesn’t look like there is an issue with the house, or brother. Paying employees is a factor that BOTH owners are responsible for. Not just Sylvia, but Ryan also. He himself was shown to appealing use toxic language about employees. Unacceptable. Yet one side accepted a half ass apology from him on that.
The smear campaign seems to have been mostly countered in this interview. Indeed, Sylvia seems like she was bad, but did not violate the law, nor was she the true villain in this saga. Ryan’s behaviour was despicable. Seriously wtf! The way he speaks is crass, disrespectful and insane. Who talks to anyone like that, let alone your spouse? Driving home others, spending resources on others, toxic gaslighting etc. How can any of these talents truly defend all that unless they are seriously dense? Disappointed in the NOC girls who actually think this was acceptable. How would they feel if their boyfriends did that to them? Would they seriously go “Oh his relationship with them is so innocent, appropriate and nothing wrong.” And cheating, good god. The context now becomes much clearer. Michelle and Ryan contradict each other as well. How can anyone ONLY criticise Sylvia, when Ryan’s business behaviour was inappropriate, unprofessional, unproductive and in many ways far more toxic than her? Aurelia sounds like she really is dumb if she doesn’t grasp that the relationship was not appropriate in many ways. Disappointed in Rachel tbh as well. Girl or guy, whichever way round, it’s wrong on so many levels. Some have responded claiming “they’re old enough to know” - really? Yet not old enough to know that a guy/woman usually doesn’t put in that much effort for anyone outside his family unless he/she fancies them. Ryan didn’t even do that stuff for his wife. Is anyone - man or woman - THAT oblivious? Companies usually can pay for taxis as well. Hell even hire a bus! Seems like he probably wouldn’t even pass the salt across the table for her, but would most likely drive to KL to send home a female employee. Doesn’t a boss have more important things to do? Especially with deadlines?
It speaks volumes that Ryan tried to backdate a resignation during the whole legal dispute and the formation of the elephant in the room Reno King. Think why! So who is the true person guilty of dereliction of duty? None other than him. Sylvia is someone who spoke poorly to employees. Ryan duped employees pretending to be the good guy here, when plot twist, he’s the villain. The smear campaign also selectively shows things without context. We would have to see the full team meeting and know the situation being discussed before passing judgement. Otherwise, anyone could show a short two minute clip of Palpatine speaking of the “moral decay of the Republic” and project him as the hero. Missing out the entire context over 6 episodes where he actually manipulates everyone to attain absolute power, wipe out the noble Jedi knights and create a Death Star to destroy planets!
The whole thing now seems like a smear campaign/financial conspiracy regarding NOC and Reno King. Those who slandered based on private matters now don’t like it when it’s on the other foot. Not only are they immoral, not only do they dish it out and can’t take it, but their coup was completely incompetent as well. Disappointed and disillusioned as I used to really love that channel.
I’m not surprised why NOC employees - or whichever talents are left - or her friends/employees are not speaking out for Sylvia, since you are effectively asking them to jump out of the trench and onto no man’s land to take on a lynch mob who may or may not even be willing to listen. Hope that some NOC girls who I truly respected stay out of this mess and something good comes out of this. But what a way to destroy a company which - even for those who didn’t like their channel - was a trailblazer in many ways.

Put aside whether Sylvia is a nasty person because it’s a persona or what, no woman can tolerate their partner spending more time with so many females ( like how she would wait for Ryan to have dinner at home but he has eaten with Aurelia without informing etc) as compared to herself especially since he cheated before ( these are proven with receipts) She must have went through very sad and lonely moments with no one to speak to, because they were known as the “golden couple”. I don’t have a problem with Sylvia being called out for her vile actions but Ryan is even more frustrating by acting all high & mighty as if he’s such a nice guy. Does his actions excuse Sylvia’s? No. But is it a reason behind it? absolutely. They both made mistakes and BOTH should be held accountable. As much as i agree Sylvia is in the wrong, I can obviously tell that Ryan has been driving her up the wall for years and from what i can tell he was definitely lacking as a husband and in some aspects as a boss as well. Right I’ve seen a lot of ppl say that she’s trying to avoid the topic by bringing up Ryan’s suicidal tendencies. But I feel like it was kind of a key part in explaining why she became such an angry person. It gives us an insight into what shaped her this way. Excuses. If 1-2 employees talk back about you, it might be those few. When so many employees all talk about you. It must mean something about how she is treating employees in general.

Sylvia did the right thing coming out and sharing all these. Otherwise I would have misunderstood her. Xia Xue did the right thing to publish this interview too. I can’t agree more with her summarized comments.
To be fair, I can understand Slyvia POV of Ryan being overly close with Aurelia, etc. Emotional cheating is no different that psyhical cheating. The internet is potraying Ryan as a saint, which is not good. I feel that it is overly glorifying Ryan and shadowing his own issues. However, that still does not justify Slyvia toxic behavouir in NOC. I am just bothered by the fact that the whole internet is faulting Slyvia (even tho she did make mistakes and it is normal she should be held accountable) but overly glorifying Ryan in the process. Surely he has a part in creating a toxic environment in NOC? Being nice is good and all, but in terms of management of company, I doubt Ryan can be up to task without making hard decisions. Tbh, both Ryan and Sylvia are toxic. Everyone has certain sides that we are not proud of, and it’s how we portray ourselves to others.. In Ryan’s case, he’s a great boss and friend. But perhaps he was not a good husband. On Sylvia’s end, she’s a good businesswoman and may have tried to be a good wife. But as a boss, probably quite a toxic one.
To add on, company was built on a very dangerous foundation (Married couple as business partners, with cheating episodes = distrust, yet still working with many other females).
So everyone else who worked/works for them just became tangled in the mess lor.
On a side note, I have to agree it’s very emotionally draining to love someone who has suicidal ideation/ tendencies. The constant fear of what he/she’s gonna do next; how you would give everything just so the person would choose life over death; how you constantly feel it’s your fault that they wanna die. It’s really painful.

Ryan is not a leader, it’s Slyvia. Has always been from the start till now. Her strong character comes from all these years of leading the company. Sure her attitude is not great, and her mouth is bad and her workaholic attitude scares the normal people. But! She has the capability to lead the talents in her company, she needed to be strict to her talents. Otherwise, how would they listen? And Ryan is just the weak father to the kids. He doesn’t speak up, doesn’t have the capability to lead. Putting up the good guy image to everyone of course everyone in the company sides him. But he’s not innocent. In short, he’s just a weakling.

Does anyone find it incredibly suspicious that the video has been out for more than a day, and there’s been zero public statements from Ryan plus his loyal crew now all limiting their comments section as well?
They had no problems speaking up against Sylvia the last few weeks, but now that she’s given her story plus receipts they’ve all gone silent.
What’s clear to me now is that the person/people running the IG account are the same group behind the blog. And if somehow the IG admin was privy to the fact Sylvia had filed a police report within half hour, this person is definitely not a neutral party or netizen but an insider close to this entire situation.
If what Sylvia claims is true, then this is a concerted effort to drag her name through the mud - and we should be asking ourselves what their intentions are, and why does this person/group see the need to drag the whole of Singapore into this drama.

EXACTLY! Really used to enjoy their content and really shocked and disappointing to see the way some of them behave now and NOC in chaos. I think after this latest, it’s becoming more clear that this has been a lowly, gutter level and deliberate smear campaign. Whatever the toxic language used by Sylvia, that is a totally separate thing to slandering her persona/character in the mud via trial by mob. Goes to show that a particular camp - some of whom MAY have embarked upon this “revolution” with noble intentions - are more interested in destroying her, discrediting her and ultimately carry out a coup at NOC, or cause its destruction for nefarious ends. A lot of people haven’t impartially and calmly analysed and read even half of the various “exposes” before forming opinions (from both so called camps).
Before this video, the name calling of Samantha indeed was unacceptable. The other spurious slander about Sylvia was nothing to do with being a toxic boss, or pay. Yet many of those lambasting Sylvia remained eerily and noticeably silent. That was unbecoming of people supposedly purely concerned about workplace conditions. Such things about work conditions should have been taken up with the authorities if anything serious was seriously happening. In addition, leaking various confidential information about finances is immoral and a serious violation of privacy and business/accounting laws. I frankly find it appalling that many people who rose to fame, or gained much more popularity, primarily because of NOC itself would resort to such underhand, dishonourable and gutter level behaviour. In the end, they would bring the whole building crashing down not only on the CEO, but on themselves as well. Cutting off the nose to spite the face. Mutually assured self destruction. Sylvia certainly has to apologise for abusive/blunt name calling. But the rest of it, to dehumanise only her reeks of double standards. Now, those who shamelessly and mercilessly attacked and smeared her, or who by their silence condoned it, are not keen on the situation being reversed and their own personal character, moral fibre and actions being called into question! What is good for the goose is good for the gander! You don’t make new friends by destroying old ones. Many of the talents seem to have forgotten where they came from. If they truly disliked the place, and left then get on with your life. Why the hell engage in this gossip and campaign of destruction?
As far as finances go, like you all pointed out, doesn’t look like there is an issue with the house, or brother. Paying employees is a factor that BOTH owners are responsible for. Not just Sylvia, but Ryan also. He himself was shown to appealing use toxic language about employees. Unacceptable. Yet one side accepted a half ass apology from him on that.
The smear campaign seems to have been mostly countered in this interview. Indeed, Sylvia seems like she was bad, but did not violate the law, nor was she the true villain in this saga. Ryan’s behaviour was despicable. Seriously wtf! The way he speaks is crass, disrespectful and insane. Who talks to anyone like that, let alone your spouse? Driving home others, spending resources on others, toxic gaslighting etc. How can any of these talents truly defend all that unless they are seriously dense? Disappointed in the NOC girls who actually think this was acceptable. How would they feel if their boyfriends did that to them? Would they seriously go “Oh his relationship with them is so innocent, appropriate and nothing wrong.” And cheating, good god. The context now becomes much clearer. Michelle and Ryan contradict each other as well. How can anyone ONLY criticise Sylvia, when Ryan’s business behaviour was inappropriate, unprofessional, unproductive and in many ways far more toxic than her? Aurelia sounds like she really is dumb if she doesn’t grasp that the relationship was not appropriate in many ways. Disappointed in Rachel tbh as well. Girl or guy, whichever way round, it’s wrong on so many levels. Some have responded claiming “they’re old enough to know” - really? Yet not old enough to know that a guy/woman usually doesn’t put in that much effort for anyone outside his family unless he/she fancies them. Ryan didn’t even do that stuff for his wife. Is anyone - man or woman - THAT oblivious? Companies usually can pay for taxis as well. Hell even hire a bus! Seems like he probably wouldn’t even pass the salt across the table for her, but would most likely drive to KL to send home a female employee. Doesn’t a boss have more important things to do? Especially with deadlines?
It speaks volumes that Ryan tried to backdate a resignation during the whole legal dispute and the formation of the elephant in the room Reno King. Think why! So who is the true person guilty of dereliction of duty? None other than him. Sylvia is someone who spoke poorly to employees. Ryan duped employees pretending to be the good guy here, when plot twist, he’s the villain. The smear campaign also selectively shows things without context. We would have to see the full team meeting and know the situation being discussed before passing judgement. Otherwise, anyone could show a short two minute clip of Palpatine speaking of the “moral decay of the Republic” and project him as the hero. Missing out the entire context over 6 episodes where he actually manipulates everyone to attain absolute power, wipe out the noble Jedi knights and create a Death Star to destroy planets!
The whole thing now seems like a smear campaign/financial conspiracy regarding NOC and Reno King. Those who slandered based on private matters now don’t like it when it’s on the other foot. Not only are they immoral, not only do they dish it out and can’t take it, but their coup was completely incompetent as well. Disappointed and disillusioned as I used to really love that channel.
I’m not surprised why NOC employees - or whichever talents are left - or her friends/employees are not speaking out for Sylvia, since you are effectively asking them to jump out of the trench and onto no man’s land to take on a lynch mob who may or may not even be willing to listen. Hope that some NOC girls who I truly respected stay out of this mess and something good comes out of this. - Ryan, being the 'sweetheart', asking for money to buy him out is the same as not giving a f*ck about NOC and all the employees. If he is THAT human and friendly, he wouldn't do this right. So that's sus. I want to see how the NOC staff thinks about this point. I also feel like it's a d*ck move about Reno King, but I genuinely think we need more of his side of the story and his intentions. I hope he is not trying to screw up his ex-wife and trying to take all of NOC to himself because of their personal issues.
- Sylvia, being the boss. As a boss you can't be sweet. You are a boss, you need to be hard to your employees. Even though she admitted to not being a good leader, she does not gang up with people, but owns up to her mistakes. I think the divorce made her even more harsh as a boss. I mean it's also her ex-husbands company, the chances of lashing out are high. She's human after all. Happy she spoke up about the possible cheating thing.
I really do hope it is all a misunderstanding. Sylvia gets all the hate due to the snippets of the recordings and has been portrayed as the worst boss ever. I don’t know why, but I can RELATE to the part where she talks about Ryan’s suicide/depression and putting up and look over everything bc he’s the husband and you need to protect them. IT FEELS ALL TOO FAMILIAR with personal experience. It’s easy to be manipulated this way, especially their excuses with women. Talk about a 10yr marriage for her, I’m out of my narcissistic abusive 3yr marriage(Wrong in all aspects covered with GOOD excuses). We weren’t lying to ourselves but we just believe in their excuses so deeply. It’s one of those, idk how you put up with it type of thing, let me tel you don’t know unless you’re in it, the indenial, VERY blinded and just forgiveness and sympathy/empathy on your end. They take you for granted as time progressed, lucky for me I get to see it sooner. The behavior is just a repeating cycle. You’re left with no choice but to leave (I MEAN IT) even though you love that person so much and would give everything(Yes lucky for me there isn’t much financial involved) There’s only so much to still try to stay positive about and defend them until you’ve reached your edge, that edge is LONG overdue. Assuming the part where Sylvia says about Ryan’s recurring suicidal actions is true, it is indeed very scary and manipulative. One of my ex is exactly how she has described the situation. When you are in that position, you will not doubt whether the other person is really trying to suicide because they have come so close to succeeding, you dare not take the risk. This is when it becomes manipulative and you (Sylvia’s position) comes under immense pressure. You feel trapped but not wanting to leave because you love this person, hoping that one day both of you will get over this.
I’m afraid the employees might have become collateral damage of a very toxic relationship in this case then.

Really used to enjoy their content and really shocked and disappointing to see the way some of them behave now and NOC in chaos. I think after this latest, it’s becoming more clear that this has been a lowly, gutter level and deliberate smear campaign. Whatever the toxic language used by Sylvia, that is a totally separate thing to slandering her persona/character in the mud via trial by mob. Goes to show that a particular camp - some of whom MAY have embarked upon this “revolution” with noble intentions - are more interested in destroying her, discrediting her and ultimately carry out a coup at NOC, or cause its destruction for nefarious ends. A lot of people haven’t impartially and calmly analysed and read even half of the various “exposes” before forming opinions (from both so called camps).
Before this video, the name calling of Samantha indeed was unacceptable. The other spurious slander about Sylvia was nothing to do with being a toxic boss, or pay. Yet many of those lambasting Sylvia remained eerily and noticeably silent. That was unbecoming of people supposedly purely concerned about workplace conditions. Such things about work conditions should have been taken up with the authorities if anything serious was seriously happening. In addition, leaking various confidential information about finances is immoral and a serious violation of privacy and business/accounting laws. I frankly find it appalling that many people who rose to fame, or gained much more popularity, primarily because of NOC itself would resort to such underhand, dishonourable and gutter level behaviour. In the end, they would bring the whole building crashing down not only on the CEO, but on themselves as well. Cutting off the nose to spite the face. Mutually assured self destruction. Sylvia certainly has to apologise for abusive/blunt name calling. But the rest of it, to dehumanise only her reeks of double standards. Now, those who shamelessly and mercilessly attacked and smeared her, or who by their silence condoned it, are not keen on the situation being reversed and their own personal character, moral fibre and actions being called into question! What is good for the goose is good for the gander! You don’t make new friends by destroying old ones. Many of the talents seem to have forgotten where they came from. As far as finances go, like you all pointed out, doesn’t look like there is an issue with the house, or brother. Paying employees is a factor that BOTH owners are responsible for. Missing out the entire context over 6 episodes where he actually manipulates everyone to attain absolute power, wipe out the noble Jedi knights and create a Death Star to destroy planets!
The whole thing now seems like a smear campaign/financial conspiracy regarding NOC and Reno King. Those who slandered based on private matters now don’t like it when it’s on the other foot. ryan is still the co-owner and director of NOC (49 percent shareholders). if he wanted to pay the staff on time, or do things for the company, he can. In fact, before the divorce, Ryan WAS the one having the majority share. But the problem is: he doesn't want to do that for u. He only wants to gain ur trust I know he looks like this nice guy who always apologize.. but that's the signs of manipulative NPD. They buy u with his words and pretentive actions. Just my personal opinion -
Is Ryan genuinely kind or not I'm not sure; but he's definitely a people-pleaser with very low self-esteem and requires the validation of others. I'm guilty of being one myself but it becomes tricky when it comes to a committed relationship/marriage. There's a fine line between doing things to please others and actually developing feelings for them because they have in a way, fulfilled your need for validation. If you're truly kind, you would be kind to everybody, that includes your own wife, whom you actually should be treating better than other girls. If you fetch the girls around and refuse to do the same for your own wife, and treat other girls better than your wife in general, then something is wrong. It means you don't love and respect your wife enough to prioritise her feelings over your need to please others/feel validated/the joy and gratification you get from pleasing other girls. Yes it's arguable that you do the same to guys too but that's not the point. The point is in a marriage, you need to know how to set clear boundaries with the opposite sex as a committed partner.
And please always remember that it's not anybody's obligation to forgive you for your infidelity. It's not demanded but earned. If you've betrayed that trust your partner had in you before, you need to put in so much MORE effort to heal those wounds and earn back the trust. Speaking from my own personal experience, it's extremely painful to forgive a partner and try to move on when you can clearly see that he is repeating the same behaviours over and over again. Crushing on others when you've a wife is clearly NOT acceptable. Yes you can be extra kind to other people, but do you see the amount of damage you've done onto a person as well, who've helped you through your low and suicidal episode; clearly loved you so to "tolerate" such infidelity, dismissal and manipulation for years. You're kind to others but you're selfish to the woman you've vowed to love and be committed to when you took her hand in marriage.
Also, just want to add that calling your wife's brother "medically retarded" is extremely hurtful and disrespectful.
As for Sylvia, I guess she was in immense pain having to see the same girls he had a crush on at work everyday and had to still try to contain her insecurities and pain. Over time, the mental torture probably shaped her into who she is today in order to protect herself. Perhaps, had she been working in another company where she doesn't have to see Ryan/the girls everyday, she wouldn't be treating her employees like that, not sure but who knows. But I truly hope that she can resolve the trauma within her and not project it onto innocent parties. Two wrongs don't make a right. Sam is a totally lovable and genuine person, I believe that remark on her was uncalled for. I hope for Sylvia's healing, and hope that all the people she's hurt will take time to heal too. :)

Really used to enjoy their content and really shocked and disappointing to see the way some of them behave now and NOC in chaos. I think after this latest, it’s becoming more clear that this has been a lowly, gutter level and deliberate smear campaign. Whatever the toxic language used by Sylvia, that is a totally separate thing to slandering her persona/character in the mud via trial by mob. Goes to show that a particular camp - some of whom MAY have embarked upon this “revolution” with noble intentions - are more interested in destroying her, discrediting her and ultimately carry out a coup at NOC, or cause its destruction for nefarious ends. Before this video, the name calling of Samantha indeed was unacceptable. The other spurious slander about Sylvia was nothing to do with being a toxic boss, or pay. Yet many of those lambasting Sylvia remained eerily and noticeably silent. That was unbecoming of people supposedly purely concerned about workplace conditions. Such things about work conditions should have been taken up with the authorities if anything serious was seriously happening. In addition, leaking various confidential information about finances is immoral and a serious violation of privacy and business/accounting laws. I frankly find it appalling that many people who rose to fame, or gained much more popularity, primarily because of NOC itself would resort to such underhand, dishonourable and gutter level behaviour. In the end, they would bring the whole building crashing down not only on the CEO, but on themselves as well. Cutting off the nose to spite the face. Mutually assured self destruction. Sylvia certainly has to apologise for abusive/blunt name calling. But the rest of it, to dehumanise only her reeks of double standards. Now, those who shamelessly and mercilessly attacked and smeared her, or who by their silence condoned it, are not keen on the situation being reversed and their own personal character, moral fibre and actions being called into question! I want to address the "Regardless, the employee mistreatment isn't right" comment.
Looking at this whole scandal, you guys can at least understand why companies frown upon office couples, especially one where they work closely together in the same department.
I am in a relationship with someone who is in the same company and department (this is the heiracy, him, me, followed by other employees). I want to give my insights into how this works. There are times where I see him get along too well with female colleagues (Not at Ryan's level tho lol), cause you see the interactions first hand. I get jealous but I don't act on it, because we are expected to be professional and not mix emotion and work. And fortunately I am good at this. I can have massive argument with him 5 min before office meeting (he is in the meeting as well) and pull my emotion out. But here's the thing, how often are you able to pull your emotion out to remain unaffected to create that so called professionalism when you face those problems every single day and watch your husband out-of-the-norm behaviour with the girls that he isn't even trying to hide? I can tell you, if you are a human with normal emotion, it's almost impossible unless you are a psychopath, because your emotion would need to be dead to remain objective at work and not lash out to anyone which is the cause of all this employee mistreatment. Even for me, its often only possible because I have emotional detachment issue. What about those with normal functioning emotion?
The only thing Sylvia did wrong is that she should not have been in the same company as Ryan. There's 101 other things she could have done to prevent the situation from escalating to this point, but none that's actually in Sylvia's favour in the first place. Ryan's protection of the NOC girls that he favoured has caused him to be rude to Sylvia and undermine her authority as acting CEO. Have you ever seen a company's Director scolding his CEO infront of the lower employees because the CEO is trying to ensure the lower employee did her job? What's so hard about putting a towel? Lol. Once or twice is not an issue but over the years? Sylvia lashing out to everyone is because she is at the point of breaking down and it's thanks to her husband. Please don't say she can just leave. Is like asking parent to abandoned the baby she work so hard to raise.
Sylvia is as much a victim to work place abuse because Ryan makes her job harder by letting the employees get away with things. If we want to talk about work place mistreatment, Slyvia is abused during her work too then, under Ryan. It's just not recorded for everyone to see. Yes, she have to deal with sales and clients. But if her staff is unable to take up such a high workload then it’s only right to increase manpower, and be understanding towards them, instead of saying that the team is not performing and because ryan is an “incompetent leader”.
As an employee myself, working my guts out for the company only for the boss to say “you’re not working hard enough” brings the team morale down and makes me question if my boss even care about my well being.

We saw some instances of Sylvia stepping in to correct some mistakes repeatedly for her employees. Saying the team is not performing is subjective but it's not fair to *not* publish the other parts of the video where she might have said other teams are doing well. If the whole company's employees are always doing badly, then how did NOC achieve what it has?
Like what Sylvia mentioned, there are crunch times and peak periods in a year. If every time an employee claims to be overworked and the company hires someone, does it mean you need to keep employees around throughout the year while they sit idle during non-peak seasons? Or do you fire them as and when you don't need them? Contract staff is an option and I think NOC is already using them. Even though there are laws which protect employees beyond working certain number of hours in a week, there's also many employees in the job market who would want to willingly work more so long they are compensated for the extra hours.
Ryan could indeed be an incompetent leader but we would not know for sure in those circumstances. So neither should we defend him by saying it's harsh to call him "an incompetent leader". A boss has a right to call out poor performance and in any case, though her intonation is crass, she's not wrong to give feedback on an employee (since Ryan claims he's not a director).

But at least she's acknowledged those as actions in the past and that she is currently taking measures to change that. We do not know of her behaviour now, but she did say it was interlinked with heavy smoking which she has quit, and is now seeing a therapist to manage her mental health, all of which are measures taken to soothe her temper.
Though, even at her worse, I don't think she was as bad as Ryan. If I were to pick between the two evils, I'd rather work under a boss that lashes out and overworks me over one who makes suggestive advances towards younger (often teenage) employees. Sylvia's situation is just more relatable to many since instances of a temperamental boss are way more common, but I'd damn well take her temper than disgustingly ruin a marriage in the workplace.

There are always two sides to every story and I feel we should not be too quick to judge based on snippets (which can easily be decontexualised) alone. I think there is no denying that there is truth to Sylvia being a toxic boss to her employees. But I do empathise with what she must have gone through... the infidelity (more than once), someone who threatens suicide, running the company etc. I can only imagine how much stress it must have been and I wouldn't be surprised that there are days I could just wake up and be angry. Especially the part on suicidal loved ones, it is very emotional draining and scary :(
Personally, I would still take what I have learnt from this video with a pinch of salt. But definitely, bad or not, I still think everyone deserves another chance and I truly hope Sylvia will be able to get back on in life again with time.
Yes definitely, I actually don’t say Sylvia is a toxic boss. Since because she is taking care of herself(divorced, using her own money) so she can’t really pay attention to the editing and planning because she talks to the clients as much as she used to before. So she is quite strict and might seem like ignoring her staffs but as I said before.
Ok let me summarize.
Sylvia is definitely strong, tenacious and intelligent. A very successful businesswomen. However, her treatment of workers is frankly disgusting. Like most, I thought Sylvia was fully in the wrong due to the pile of incriminating evidence stacked against her. When I first clicked on the video, I was expecting her to be defensive and make excuses for herself. While I think she did not directly address specific issues, and accused Ryan of the same allegations (e.g. when talking about misappropriating funds, she said Ryan did the same with renoking) overall I realise that most of us have made a very biased judgment before hearing her out. Her perspective made me realise that Ryan also did his fair share of wrongs towards Sylvia and NOC. This video does not absolve her in my opinion, but I hope it gives viewers an opportunity to form a more balanced and informed opinion on the saga. Xiaxue did a great job covering this, and I do hope that Ryan and Sylvia can pull through this season, knowing that they both struggle with mental health.
Really used to enjoy their content and really shocked and disappointing to see the way some of them behave now and NOC in chaos. I think after this latest, it’s becoming more clear that this has been a lowly, gutter level and deliberate smear campaign. Found it super weird that as business partners he wasn't even attempting to salvage or defend her/their business. Instead he was all planned to distance himself away from the saga. It was too coincidental that every thing is clashing with their divorce meetings. And red flags are so aplenty in their relationship. Ryan telling her he has a crush on Aurelia, Joanna and Michelle making advances on him. Emotional cheating is just so scary, and funny how he would drive Aurelia back home when he couldn't even fetch his own wife. I think it's a good question.. I'm not saying that ppl cannot express how toxic an environment, people can and should. But after this video, it seems like the receipts were compiled over a number of years and filtered to show the bad side of Sylvia. And all of them coinciding with these legal proceedings that Ryan is caught up in. Idk talent or media industry at all. But I know a little about company law and finance standards. What he did in relation to RenoKing was clearly against company law. He used labour and expenses from the company (NOC) for his personal brand/ company (Renoking). Sylvia is right to demand wtv she is demanding legally from him for NOC's sake. I'm not sure how NOC (Xiao Wen) would have split overhead costs or if she even calculated the cost pools rightly in relation to all the shoots done with Renoking. But even then, it should be a subsidiary as Sylvia mentioned, which Renoking is not since the brand ownership lies with Ryan alone.
