La mince clameur de ces êtres iniques et inabsous
Pleurant à la sortie du monde
Se perd dans ce royaume d’effroi et de cendres
    Sinistre abscission
Et la solitude du jardin de Gethsémani en partage !

the thin (or quiet) clamor of these iniquitous and unfaithful beings
crying out at (the end of the world? the world's departure? their departure from the world?)
get lost in this realm of dread and ashes (either they get lost or their cries are drowned out)
      sinister abscission
and the solitude of the garden of gethsemane to share

The intro resembles a lot "I Don't Believe in Love" by Queensryche. I like to see it as a citation

I maintain that the Deathspell tracks which dabble in melody/clarity and usually serve as "atmospheric interludes" are actually the best Deathspell tracks. They're usually the short ones, which is a shame. I really think Deathspell's insistence on cleaving to black metal tropes is holding them back as an avant-garde metal band.

BakehousePictures well apokatastasis panton is melodic yet dissonant as hell, that's probably the zenith of the genre thus far imo, it's incredibly moving and beautiful, the sheer energy of it, the sentiment, it's amazing

Agreed. I love the whirlwind-of-guitars/machine-gun-drum headfuck sections as much as everybody else, but it's when they get into the more spaced out melodic sections that I actually feel emotionally engaged.

hear you there man. and its melodic yet dissonant and harmonically interesting, its not.. sugary, its just incredible, I'm in love with that track it's something that i've been aspiring to achieve the past few years

As good as it is, I don't think I could stay interested in a 45 minute album full of it. It's all the more powerful for the brutality and chaos that bookends it.

+BakehousePictures Disagree. It's the contrast between the atmospheric bits and the whirlwind guitar jams that make both so great.
