@@ProfessorBulletMGyeah it looks like a worsening case of cutis verticis gyratus to me. Poor guy. Its mainly cosmetic though usually, but thats not nothing especially in his industry.
Matt is super cool- met him a loooonngg time ago and played beer pong with him. Stand up guy and great company to be around. YT recommending this vid popped that memory back in my head. Great to see you healthy and teaching ☕️☕️
I love this technique. So much easier for me to do than shooting for a takedown. Being a bigger guy the arm drag works best for me.👍. Love your videos and your techniques thank you. Oss 🤙
Appears as though no one realized what this video was about as they spent all their time trying to figure out who the training partner is... kudos to Dave for being a good training partner
As a former wrestler for about 20 years that isn’t a arm drag takedown. It’s a arm drag setup to a trip or leg takedown. Further,it’s very easy to counter, I did it all the time. Don’t get upset, I fully admit I wouldn’t stand a chance against you in a match, however, you wouldn’t get an arm drag either.
He's also never going to get this against any half-decent judoka. And against an actual decent one, he'll get an outer leg sweep the instant that right arm goes in for the drag. He completely opens himself up, LONG before the point where he says 'so many things open up now'.
I used that when I wrestled in high school. It was my favorite takedown to use. I used it so much that when wrestlers tried it on me I could defend against it. Wow, never realized what I thought I made up in the ninth grade was actually Judo!
Love this takedown it’s my go to against bigger opponents. You can also modify your double to do the same takedown if you can’t lift your opponent or don’t wanna cut the corner.
Bautista came to Golds downtown La about 15 years ago, homeboy had three 45’s on each side of the bar on the incline bench and was throwing it up like he was doing push ups. U will only see things like that at golds in Venice
Was my go to takedown when i used to wrestle.. I was tall and skinny for my weight class so it allowed me to get takedowns while not putting myself in the range of my opponent
Yeah, really good. The thing is always teach you know if you were down that’s fine but I teach when I do that drag always step with that leg because they could step through.
I got my purple belt from Matt’s head coach rod khan and I would have to disagree with his arm drag take down as I do it differently.. but that is the beauty of martial arts you do what works best for you!
Matt Arroyo, were you on the ultimate fighter and had to pull out of a fight due to a rib injury? If that was you I always wished you well. I favored you to win that season. “I think you fought a guy who kneed you in the head as you were coming in for a takedown and you still finished it looking unfazed. Man if that was you it’s good to see you doing good man. Glad to see you with a black belt.
Would do this in wrestling all the time but it was a little different. Dont grab the wrist, just pop it up, dont grab the elbow, grab the tricep pull them towards you. It forces them to step past you and you can drop for a single. Or take the back, go for a tilt, or german, a bunch of things. I know i know random youtube comment keyboard warrior, but i grew up wrestling since i was 5, I know a thing or two and try both methods so you can decide what works best for you. If youre pretty explosive like me, try the technique i mentioned itll probably work better for you. If you take your time and think before acting then this guys technique in the video will probably work better for you. With the technique i explained its gotta be one motion its explosive and fluid.
I'm wondering how many MMA guys would just come across with a hook or elbow to the side of the head and knock him out. For BJJ this probably works pretty well. I haven't tried it so I don't know.
The arm drag, yes. That week takedown, no. Step over that leg and square back up by pushing the head with your free hand. Now your opponent is doing a split while you get behind him. (Also he could re arm drag from there and take your back.)
Just casually having Dave Bautista in your video and not even mentioning it at all lol
Damn, you beat me 19 hours earlier
He practices on him every video
Drax is invisible to him so he didn't know who it was
Right!?😂
@inextinguishablemoltenbloodedit's not bragging, it's respect. Tis is just a short clip though. He probably introduced him earlier.
Poor Drax just came to train now he is the dojo mascot. 😂❤️
Fr
Trust me…Bautista doesn’t train. He takes privates for social media clout.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that was Dave Bautista right away I had to watch the whole video to realize it’s his doppelgänger
@@tylerosborn5824Bautista is a BJJ brown belt, and trains under arroyo. I second guessed myself a couple times too, but that's actually him lol
I was literally about to post something about this 😂
Dave's head stared at me with an angry face
What is that all about, his head? Didn’t he have hair once? But seriously, is that some type of medical condition?
@@ProfessorBulletMGsteroids and age happened.

The Arm DRAX Takedown.
i see what you did there 👏
Lmfao 🤣 😂
Weheeey
very good 😂
👏
He's mastered the art of standing so incredibly still, that he becomes invisible to the naked eye.
😂😂😂😂
Who was standing perfectly still? I only saw the instructor.
It's a Guardians of the Galaxy quote I believe from the 2nd movie.
@@CoBrAToRcHStreambut there is only one person in the video ?

No way hes a brown belt.
It's more of a 'dirty white' belt

He has muscles on his head, that’s crazy
😅
You mean they've moved from his body to the top of his head!😂
Those aren't muscles

Batista what a legend glad he’s learning from one of the best
Drax-Nothing goes over my head, I would simply catch it.

😂

What a humble monster in the back.
He's a rock star but stay humble.
Whatta gentleman.

Lol

Inspiring *!!!
I love your videos but honestly I love that face keeps us Greeks in his gi. Really appreciate the gi
Congrats on the brown belt Dave!!
Good work and I love how you show moves that kids and adults can do and not only for adults keep up the good work ❤
Full speed demo would be nice for next time
Thanks for the demonstration. I love arm drags.

niggah really got Batista just chilling in the back
Talking about "I like using this on bigger guys"😂
As a wrestler who's been practicing bjj for a few years I think this is about one of the best takedowns for bjj
He just took Bautista down.😢
That move I can say is very affective.as I been using it sense 1983.very nice!
His opponent was standing extremely still from the beginning...it's a miracle he was able to even spot him.
😂😂😂
Dave looks completely knackered :)
Lol, this video is such a flex. Congrats Coach!

You’re annoying lol
It was a fairly awful example I agree. I don’t care he’s a black belt. He was not close enough for either effective armdrag or the takedown.
He's also never going to get this against any half-decent judoka. And against an actual decent one, he'll get an outer leg sweep the instant that right arm goes in for the drag. He completely opens himself up, LONG before the point where he says 'so many things open up now'.
yeeeaaah dave brown belt is solid. thanks for the technique too
you know your old when ppl call him Drax instead of Batista 🤣

Dudes head looked like the landscape in iraq. That is a Arrested development reference in case you were wondering.
That dude on the right is so built ...he has MUSCLES on his frickin HEAD!
Meanwhile, his left fist is pummelling you into oblivion
In jiu-jitsu?
Bro... in other videos he specifically says HE WILL MENTION STREET FIGHTS IF ITS FOR A FIGHT.... If not it's ment for jiu-jitsu specifically

Yesss
I think it's cuz they cut they heads for blood when wrestling

Barrett Yoshida and I were doing this move in Relson's Dojo in 97.
As a former high school and college wrestler that is a technique that is practiced from day one in almost all wrestling rooms.
How'd he manage to make that technic look so real on his own?? Crazy skills
Used this in my gold medal match last month and won, thanks!
Is that Dave Batista? Love that dude btw. And nice video also.
Dave knows a better arm drag he's been doing since high school
Drax's head looking like a wasteland of battle scars!
I expected a single leg. Instead it’s like a ko ouchi makikomi. Love this takedown 👍
