Scenery was gorgeous!
Sweet!!! It's going to be another awesome adventure!!!😊❤
Thanks for joining us! See ya next week!
😱😱😱Oh boy, this looks good!!!!!!! Watching now guys... 💖💖
Great footage and landscape. Enjoy your videos keep them coming!
Thanks! We are working hard to make sure they keep coming!
Awesome finds guys
Thanks Wes’s!
Your adventures just to get to a homesite are just exciting as the things you find in the woods. Keep up the good work love your channel.
Thank you for the support! We have a lot of fun on the way into the sites. We will keep looking for those lost forest sites!
Wow, what an adventure! You guys were eating like kings out there! Such a great episode.
Thanks guys, good trip and good food. Just wish we got a few more good finds. Thanks for watching guys!
That water just looks cold. Beautiful location. Great adventure, guys.
Yea it was lol. Just wish we could have a lot more at that homesite. Next time. Thanks for watching Chad!
Awesome finds.
Thanks! They could have been better but it was still a good time! Hope to see ya next week!
That river water is cold even in July! I was hoping you 2 were going to really find a ton of great things. You did collect a memory. I'm sure you 2 will talk about the swamping of the canoe for years! Great adventure guys! Rk.
We wish we could have found a lot more but it was still a good time! Thanks for watching and hope to see ya next week!
Not gonna lie, that spill in the cold water looked painful! Glad to see you guy's being safe and wearing life jackets though, good job..👍 That place looked like it had a lot more potential, definitely worth a few visits back to detect. Maybe in the winter those tall weeds will get pushed flat by snow and it will be easier to detect in the spring before everything starts growing again. Cool trip, see you on the next hunt!
Thanks! You right. We think it has a lot more there to find in the tall weeds as well. We will be making a trip back for sure in the early spring. Thanks for watching and see ya next week!
Another awesome video y’all , I hate y’all tipped the canoe 🛶 😂. Y’all are crazy 😂
Thanks Toby! We are a little crazy but we enjoy the adventure! Makes us feel younger than we are lol.
I usually don’t chime in much , man!! What an adventure!! Love how you guys are researching and finding old longlost homesteads on old maps and figure them out into newer topics I’m sure. Your pereserverance after that dunking is amazing.
Oh, btw, you might need to come to that other homestead where the bear hunter was. Maybe try to hit them both again in Warner weather. Dang, you guys are tough. Clearly an Awesome video with the drone footage added even more to your adventure!! Great job guys!!!
Thanks! Please do chime in. We really do like reading everyone’s comments and replying to them. Plus comment like yours makes us feel like we are doing a good job. Thanks for watching and the comment!
That channel thing might be in use to guide a liquid into whatever they were making. Bullet? Beautiful scenery, cold detectors! 😂
It took a lot of work to get to where you went and then to film and edit it ,thanks for the adventure
Thanks Jeff, we are glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of work but was worth it! Hope to see ya next week!
Your adventures you guys go on are awesome
Thanks Jillian! We enjoy them and are glad you do too!
I was reminded of a Boy Scout hike when I was 12 or 13. It was January and there was a small, frozen over pond at out destination. I couldn't resist and broke through the ice in mid-pond. It was a miserable hike back! That aside, looks like an adventure to me! Shawn, here are my two guesses. If your wedge is soft, it is probably lead. If it is hard, I am thinking it is the "steel" used with flint to strike sparks. ONLY guesses! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Thanks Grandad! We enjoy reading your comments each week! We are glad you enjoyed it and we will keep on adventuring!
I wait for your videos every Saturday and this was not disappointing in any way guys. Sorry y'all took a spill but life happens. Thank you for the content!!
Thanks Jerry! It didn’t go exactly how we planned the trip but we had fun! Thanks for watching!
I'm late with my comment but this was a great adventure and a gorgeous video. Glad you guys are playing it safe, wearing your PFDs. Lunch looked hearty and delicious. Looking forward to next week!
Thank you Carol! It was a good day out despite getting wet. Western PA is a beautiful place. We are lucky to live here. See ya this weekend!
Great adventure
Thank you!
Sean don’t forget to replace your air filter soon. 😂 love d the video.
It’s been cleaned and the oil was changed. The dash was turning into a Christmas tree! Lol
Really enjoyed the video! Quite the adventure. Just a side comment - sounds of nature and casual banter is all that's needed.
Agreed. We have a few episodes out with very minimal music or none at all. Sometimes no music seems to get boring. We appreciate the comment and feedback. 😁
Another great adventure guys! You Rocked it! Haha. Least you both took it like water off a ducks back! Haha. No as usual another good job! Great hard work!….
Thanks Chuck! It was a good time out even though we ended up getting a little wet. We wish the site could have gave up a little more. Thanks again for watching and we will see ya next week!
let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
And canoe accidents! Lol
Just EPIC!!!!!!! Jerry & Shawn🔥🔥🔥 Those old homesites in the middle of nowhere blow my mind; seeing those cool relics come out of the ground in the middle of the woods is something that will always amaze me. That was an incredible adventure guys, thank you for taking me with you💖💖 Is it just me, or did the homemade raft work better?👍👍
lol. It was a little better lol. Thanks Mona! We are glad you joined us! We will keep looking for these old spots for ya!
You know I'll keep watching. Was the volume down on this one? I'm a little hard of hearing so I never know if it's just me. Thank you both for the AWESOME!!!!!!! videos💖💖@@detectingpa8968
@@mona2046 the volume was the same. We actually turned it up some while editing. With the phone getting wet, it caused major audio issues. Plus with Shawn facing away from the camera made it more difficult to hear him. We are working on getting mics but they are expensive! 😬
That was fun! ❤
Thanks! We had a blast!!
Love the music!!!
More fun!
Thanks! It was a blast!
I think the wedge piece is an axe wedge. It's the piece that secures the axe head to the handle.
That’s the only thing we could figure too. It seemed larger than a normal wedge though.
You guys make the best videos LEO from Hudson New York
Thanks Leo! We are just trying to film in a way that you and others can go on adventures with us. We always enjoy seeing your comments and are grateful for them! See ya next week!
Videos of great especially when you go on your adventures you guys should stay overnight
Thanks Frank! We hope to have some overnight adventures coming up this winter! Stay tuned!
Lucky you guys didn’t lose your stuff down river. That shore lunch looks delicious 🤤
We actually tied our shovels in. We knew if we went in they would be the first to go. Glad that didn’t happen. Thanks again for watching and the comment!
It was pretty good! Lol
Hand and foot warmers, plastic bags over socks, extra socks. You'll be better prepared next time. Hope you see the other site in the future.😊
We will make another go at it. Maybe next time foot lol. Thanks for watching!
I live in SoCal, I was getting cold just watching you guys before you fell in. Also that was a good idea building the fire up against the Boulder, although I don't plan on doing anything detecting that would call for a fire. Also that looked like a killer meal you guys cooked up, great video keep up the great work 👍
Thanks! We wish we didn’t need the fire but glad we brought stuff to make one. The food was good and better than the last couple meals we made. Thanks for watching! Hope to see ya next week!
Also I was thinking of the song, Dueling Banjos when you were going down the river, Lol, maybe you guys are to young for that one.
LOL. No we remember that movie. Shawn plays a bit of the guitar but We will not be visiting or dueling Banjos any locals haha.
Bank your fire, friends. Reflect the heat towards you.
Thanks for the tips!
👍👍
Pretty sure that I am still cold from this day. Haven't even recovered yet!!
🔥🔥🔥I noticed that spray painting vandals, at the mouth of the Red Bank Creek on the Allegheny River, are fond of peoples buttocks and Chuck Norris, which is an odd combination, unless they like Chuck Norris’s buttocks....Shawn needs to change his air filter ...Some of the background scenes in this video seem familiar to me. But, when you're in the wilds of the backcountry, everything starts to look the same. Thankfully, you remained level-headed, and quickly deployed muscle memory survival skills. Thank you so much for the shout out! Seriously, what did I miss?
You didn’t miss anything. We knew you would enjoy reading all the graffiti on the bridge lol. You’re not the only one who caught that Shawn needed to change his air filter. He better get on that. See ya next week Lee!
What crick is this?
It was Redbank. Thanks for watching!
It's making me hungry
What’s uppppp Frank! This was one of our better meals for sure! Wait til you see this weekends dinner. 😂
They took away market place so I did away with Facebook
Really!! Going canoeing in the winter time and you didn't take extra clothes? What a couple boneheads!!
We actually did have extra clothes packed in our packs which is why we put them in contractor bags. We could change our socks but what’s the point when your shoes are wet. We dried out pretty quick. Thanks for your lovely comment though.
You flopped the canoe because the guy in the back sucks at river riding in fast water, sorry pal, but it is the truth
The guy in the front (me, Shawn) was likely the cause of it. Last time I canoed before this was when I was like 8. Oh well, made some good memories! 😂
@@detectingpa8968 you were, the guy in the front is like a bitch, just sit there and look pretty
You’re right. I am definitely pretty good looking. I got that covered.
@@detectingpa8968 I used to teach canoeing at a boy scout camp in Maine for years and I am old and still very good on all the rivers here in upstate new york
@@detectingpa8968 besides I was just busting on you guys and you do look sexy in the front
