Losing a lens and spilling something on your computer could happen to anyone even if they are not living in a van. If that is the worst week van life so far, you're doing great.
You will learn more about yourself and about life through the difficult times. You are a very strong young woman. You will overcome it all. Most van lifers build a bed and use the under bed area for storage.

My grandfather was one of those who would have much to say about things. But, what he did say was very poignant. And the one saying he gave me that has been more true than I would like it to be is… Physically, emotionally, or financially; the lessons that cost you the most to learn, are the ones you learn the most from. Just finished 25 years of police patrol work. One of them many rules of thumb we all learned, early on, and really ONLY from experience is that if there is anything you definitely want to keep or see again you NEVER put it on top of the car, on top of the trunk or top of hood! Always a rough lesson....
When I was young and started making music I had about 15 tapes of our first music in a box, left on top of car. Never seen it again. Was very very sad. I hope someone found them and enjoyed them.

Hey girl you’re doing great. I suggest you get netting to hang on ceiling of your vehicle to store essentials that you use a lot but want out of the way. Netting works great for that.

You were right at the beginning of the video..organization is key. Finn is really the only one in the group that knows how to live in a small space because he grew up on a boat. It is a steep learning curve for sure but that hill looked steep and you made it to the top. You got this!
Luke made a great move though with the upgrade to his rig. They need to go to the Overland Expo and tap into the overlanding community. Tons of vids & creators on YT in this space. It's a huge and growing industry.
Glacier national park is my ABSOLUTE dream location!! I want to go to the mountains, I feel them calling me, hundreds of miles away. My heart aches for them… I am so happy you were able to experience their majesty
Why not get a deck system for the back? Or build a drawer system that acts as a platform/storage for the bed.
Girl don’t be so hard on yourself. We are human. Yes it cost you 600$ or so to replace but these are the lesson we learn. Sadly the hard way but we learn!!!! Canada loves you We love your content. So creative
I love Banff. My grandparents met there.... grandma worked the front desk at Chateau Lake Louise, & grandpa was a bellhop (1930s).
You have memories that most of us can only dream about.
Yes, you did have some rough and expensive experiences. They were short interludes mixed in with a host of fantastic times with awesome friends.
I mean, how many of us can say that they slept under the night sky filled with aurora's sweeping overhead in Glacier National Park?

Welcome to Alberta. If you guys go into the town at all, you should have a stroll through the Banff Fairmont. It's a cool historical building so they're not gonna hassle you for not being paid guests. Smart to camp outside of town, because town is $$$ for everything, everywhere.
Glory, Glory, slow down….think through your daily living and prioritize your organization from that perspective. A place for everything and everything in its place when it comes to small living. I speak from experience of someone who can tend to clutter- so when you use something, finish then put back. Don’t have time? MAKE time. And as far as better health- supplementing w/a professional who can be an immediate sounding board is good. But don’t forget your prayers🙏🏽
UGH!! So sorry to hear about all of the damage! I have been a professional photographer for 20 years and I have 2 big mistakes. Covering an Adventure Race I went over the handle bars of my bike and smashed $5000-$6000 of gear. I was covering another race and I was using a drone and my camera gear to cover the paddle section of the race. I put my $8000 Camera and $3500 lens on the roof while I put my gear into the car. Then drove off. A few KM down the road I hit a bump and all I could see in the mirror was my lens hood bouncing down the highway.
Thankfully I have insurance to cover my stupidity! haha. But the longer you are in this industry, the more gear you will trash!!!

Definitely feel the tight space stuff. I’m a truck driver & it drives me crazy how fast things get cluttered and unorganized.
Also, it is pretty lonely living on the road but we’ll enjoy these memories when we’re old & grey. Soon one day I can get out of the semi & do what you do. Thanks for the inspiration!

Beautiful video despite the title, the thumbnail and the whining...you should be more positive, any of the lake shots or the aura Borealis would have made a better thumbnail... remember, 90 percent of planet Earth would trade places with you. The Banff/Jasper area is amazing. Keep on trucking, you'll make it through the trials and tribulations of van life (which is really just life, condensed) and things will be fine. As John Lennon said, “Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.”
Nice. I've been at the lakes about 20 years ago. Still a nice memory. No parking or other hassle back then. Hardly anyone around to disturb the peace. Btw, it's you being careless. You will learn the hard way :P

Hi 👋🏼 Baby of the family here. Here's the thing...we are sunshine. We are fun! We are silly and so capable. However, practicality and thinking ahead may not be our biggest strengths. Good thing we can go back to how cute and adorable we are so people won't get so mad at us, but the financial fall out for our mistakes can definitely hurt. Good thing in God's economy, nothing is wasted, right?!? 😂🙌🏼 At least, that's what I tell myself:) And He does somehow always provide! Here's to hoping things go marvelously for you here on out!
whats cool about Alberta is you have the prairies, the foothills (like where you took the shot of the Alberta sign) and the Rockies. But honestly, if you stay in Canada, go West from there.

Yep lots of young people learn this lesson (including me) Living in a camper van costs about as much in gas as you would spend on rent.
What about turning your cubes on their sides and usung a bungee to keep stuff in?

You might want to have someone build a raised wooden bed w/ kitchen slide out and shelving system. I found one that fit my Ford f-150 6 foot box on facebook marketplace for 900.00. Keeps travel life SO nicely organized. Maybe fewer tragedies in Mr. Ford's future, too? Love your videos!

Word of advice, ALWAYS make sure when you do something not to trigger something bad, safety is mandatory, for yourself and things around you. Caution comes with age and experience . When young you don't think that a computer near some liquid might ruin it, in a car.
Look at the bright side, you will never mix the two in the future lol

Glory I’m so jealous you’re in Banff. And get to see Lake Louise isn’t that gorgeous went there when I was very young A teenager maybe 20. Such a beautiful area. And then we went to the Calgary stampede. That was really cool. That is so cool that they just took you in brought food gave you a shower and a place to stay how cool is that? As for your Boo Boos, it just shows that you’re not perfect. Literally everybody makes mistakes and screws up sometimes. The only thing you can take from that is learn and be stronger than next time and goodness gracious knows you are definitely one strong woman you will be fine you might want to do some revamping in your truck so your bed is a little bit higher and you can put stuff underneath your bed you could actually build for your bed with pallet wood they make those things out of hardwood so it would last long time be free or relatively cheap? Go to a hardware store or anywhere they’re going to get deliveries could be almost anywhere. They will have to have pallets. Or you can drive through the alleys behind the stores lots times they just leave them out back. Luke probably has the tools. Get some screws and go to it. You might need to get a little saw handsaw. So you had a couple bad days but look at all the good days that you’ve had and where you’ve been and what you’ve seen is worth way more than a couple of bad days. I’m super stoked that you’re computer didn’t cost that much. Could’ve been something wrong with your truck, it would’ve cost a whole lot more so in the large scheme of things, this wasn’t so bad. Wow, that was some beautiful mountainous nature....the lake was amazing!! I understand how you feel about managing your stuff. I am doing van life right now and had to break quickly while driving. I had left some things plugged into the generator and it slammed into my cooler breaking off the USB plug to my favorite light. It's a globe light and gives the van a little ambience. Not an expensive loss, but still a loss nevertheless. Lesson learned, I will always unplug all my stuff from the generator from now on.
So love your adventures and no one goes through life without making mistakes...just a learning process so hang in there during the rough times and enjoy the good ones!!!

So many pretty places in Canada. Glad you got to see both lakes. Easy to be inspired in beautiful places. Your Video photography is beautiful. Not sure how long you'll travel in Canada..but if you stay in Canada a little longer you might enjoy Fernie, BC, Nelson, BC, Pemberton, the drive alone is breathtaking. Many places on Vancouver Island (fee to ferry over). Just so many options for van life....Washington, Idaho, Oregon too! Great for van life travels. You're doing great! One foot in front of the other....Go Glory! Go Glory!

OMG I'm so happy you started the Ford correctly you waited for fuel pump to cycle so happy for you!! I lived like this for 1.5 years. I made most my mistakes by rushing. My fix was using a pattern and repetition. I start at the driver seat and work my way around the vehicle, including inspecting tires and vehicle working my way to front passenger side then back passenger side then to driver back passenger side. Making sure everything is in place, secured, stowed away I did this every time yes it took extra time but also saved me a few times on items being lost/damaged. So you just need to find your pattern and then repeat it obsessively. You got this keep in mind i did this with a large very spoiled dog so room and proper storage was always a daily grind i used waterproof locking rubbermaid totes. at night it all came out of vehicle and slid under it then made the bed and dog's bed then the food, cooking and all that it was a struggle at first but repetition took over. As long as your having fun though I found the little hickups just don't matter long term. For me after a year and half I started wanting something different and if I'm honest I think my dog did too he still perks up though when he sees me loading up the vehicle he's always ready for a road trip short term these days. .
