Great set-up, Luke! But more importantly, I am so thankful the three of you are traveling TOGETHER. Your strengths compliment each other! Y’all be safe on those steep inclines though… 😬👀
Tahomie,Betty White, and Mr.Ford and Sailing Zatara!! You all ROCK! Glad you’re traveling together cuz it’s sometimes dangerous out in the world and you all have each other’s backs🙌😎👍❤️ Great content…..Keep on Truckin’!!
I have a 2024 Tacoma just sr5 but I have always wanted to vanlife/truck life. Never had the opportunity to get a van so it’s pretty inspirational to see someone’s using a truck.
There are many channels that use trucks as campers/Overlanding vehicles You have X Overland on the sponsored ultra $$$ level and Softroadingthewest on the budget end. ETA: that is the reason I got a 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR Access Cab so I could put a topper and sleep in the 6’ bed before I got a topper like his GFC. Lone Peak or Super Pacific are some other options. I am looking at a Hardsider pop top since many National Parks won’t allow soft sided tents.
Glory's stories, just voicing my disagreement with LB right here! You have lotsa' great features! Personality, humor, smile... you're just so darn likeable. Your rig could use a couple of upgrades, perhaps, but hey, the pyramids weren't built in a day!
I enjoy your video. seeing your “truck” makes me understand how you could call this as “camping in your car”. I can’t imagine living without a bathroom, hot water, and a shower, but you feel a kitchen would be a slice of heaven. I’m glad you have “friends”, and interests while on the road. Making an adventure of the travel is great. KEEP DOING VIDEO, be safe… looking forward to the next video. Say hey to Glory and Finn. Watching you guys on Katara, got me hooked to following you three. I hope the plan is to go help Keith and Renee do a passage, then back to Vanlife… they need you guys.. .now and then. Take care… post soon.
To improve vision in the blind spot, adjust the side mirrors so you can just see the side of your car. This will give you good vision, so that you don't need blind spot mirrors.
Luke, In Regard to 4X4 , Many years ago I had a 86' Ford Ranger basic. I took a trip somewhere in the North Carolina Mountains to venture up the back road to the Linville Gorge Mountain. At the Entrance there were lots of signs saying 4 wheel Drive HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Well I did it anyway and boy was I in for a challenge. I was driving up an Old Mountain road where many places all I had was my wheels on the right and the left touching rock but the space in between was @5-10 foot drop of empty space. ONE WRONG MOVE and I would have been in a WORLD of Some SERIOUS TROUBLE!!! BIG TIME!!! Well after about 2 hours of creeping along slowly I made it to the top of the Mountain. Spent the night and Made the same TREACHEROUS, NERVE WRENCHING TREC BACK Down the Mountain. Needless to say, Everything inside my truck was upside down and scattered all over the place. As I was driving away, some Old men, at the Rangers Station, at the entrance, waved at me, shaking their heads in disbelief that I actually came out alive. I told you I was an adrenaline junkie, yes I did a lot of crazy things when I was your age, but I wouldn't change a thing. So as for 4 Wheel drive, I agree, their Over Rated. Snow is really the Only time when I can see their purpose. 🤙
You can really streamline a Tacoma bed with a gofast camper if you do a bit of research on other builds. My advice is look into partnerships and see what you can work out. You should have a lot more space in your bed when you're set up for camp.
Thanks for giving us the ultimate tour of your Tacoma condominium! Perfect since condos are a big Florida thing 😁 Love that it's a Toyota. I've been driving a 2011 Rav4 (street set up) for 6 years. And I i love it! Behind the wheel it really feels (in my hands, arms, back, and butt) like I'm in a car. A nice comfortable car. I just LOVE your wrap-around porch 🎉💥🎊👍. The interior of your condo is just as awesome. The bedroom, living area,. kitchen, and den are pretty much all a man really needs for live on the road. 🚘🏠 Extras: love the recording help you and Gloria give each other. And seeing Betty White 🚙 running up that hill was a great ending! You go Finn! Add-ons: a mounted front wench. For any time you, or a road friend (Betty White), gets stuck. And AT LEAST a large, full view mirror on the passenger side. We've all been surprised by those idiots sharing the roads with us. Ya still got this Grandpa from Florida keeping up with your videos. Must mean you're still dropping quality stuff, Luke. Keep up doing this amazing content and we will keep tagging along with your amazing adventures. See ya'all in the next one.....
Nice setup! Personally, I wouldn’t buy a truck without 4x4. Different strokes for different folks! 4x2 gets better gas mileage so glad it works for ya.
I agree with what you’re saying regarding 2x4 or 4x4. As a long term driver and experienced & too old now,I don’t go off roading now. But in my experience, in that 5% of time, you’ll get bogged down & wish that you had a 4x4. It’ll give you the confidence that you can get yourself out of sticky (muddy) situations. Also a winch attached to the front of your vehicle could prove to be invaluable also. I’ve had to tow people out of situations many times because of their lack of experience or just misjudging their vehicles limits.
I never heard of a GoFast Camper until you got one. I also never wanted a Tacoma as a rig because they are so small. But man, that setup is SWEET! I could totally live in that!
Building out a Toyota Tacoma is definitely my ideal setup. Are you able to do a price breakdown of how much the setup costs in one of your next vidoes?
I’d trade it in for a 4x4. No judgement but man if you are going to get into this lifestyle at some point you’ll need a 4x4. Keep all of your camping stuff trade it in for maybe the same year and THEN put all the lift and tires into it. Good video though thanks for sharing! 😎
Really nice rig Luke. If you don't plan on swapping to a 4x4 Tacoma any time soon, then you might want to think about investing in a winch in case you ever get stuck. They have certainly saved my bacon over the years and I've always driven 4x4s. You can also help others with it when they find themselves in a pickle, (and that save would make for good content!). Its a good investment, and you could move it to your new 4x4 should you ever decide to pull that trigger.
truckers use CB radio channel 19. Also great when you run across traffic jams in the cities, also where the speed traps are. A full grown is state trooper, an evil knievel is motorcycle cop, county mounty is county sheriff. You'll have to learn the lingo,
Yay you posted Luke!!! Your videos are so good! 🎉 You’re so highly organized and have such a great system in your truck. Will your girlfriend be joining you on these adventures?
I know this is a truck, but I still think it may be possible to save on fuel economy if you buy the right kind of tyres when you are replacing the ones you have now. Might be worth looking into if you want spend less. Tyres impact fuel economy more than you think. There also seems to be a flat surface in front of that tent thingy you have on the roof. I would look into putting something in front of the tent that would bridge the airflow from the windscreen so it more smoothly can travel over your truck. That alone would probably result in noticeably lower fuel consumption on the highway. Also blocking off part of the radiator air intake in the right places (probably the top part) could also improve aero. And of course making sure that the bikes don't stick out and increase the frontal are of the vehicle. Might at least be worth looking into...
Those are really good points. I think I’ll close the gap between my camper and the car with a roof rack. Also, I think I’m getting more off-road tires, which will probably negatively affect my gas mileage sadly:(
new to your ch, nice set up, I just found a super cheap dometic through resupply as well, looking forward to future vids! what brand or where you get your hoodie? looking for similar style
Loved your truck tour Luke! Really like the cover that swings around your truck. What do you guys do to keep bears away from your campsite? ie. food smells, etc.
L-I-V-I-N Not a hater, I just know from experience. Don't do any more upgrades until you have come to the conclusion that you do need 4x4. I understand where you are coming from (the challenge) but if you ever plan on visiting Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Arizona or New Mexico you will want 4x4 for sure. I have the same set up but i built my Toyota Tundra with a lift and bead lock wheels, rock sliders and high clearance bumpers and if i would have been non 4x4 i would not still be traveling the country due to the fees and costs involved when you get stuck and need an off road tow company to come get you back to pavement where a regular tow company can then help. I too like to challenge myself so i have never added the winch that i bought for the bumper to self recover. But that being said i do have 4x4 and rear lockers and am always still risking it. I am a follower that you gained from the Zatara channel. Keep up the hard work and most important have fun but be safe doing it. Keep L-I-V-I-N
Thanks for the truck tour. Nice set up. Look up a vlogger named "Mav". He has a kick a$$ truck bed set up. Long pull out storage bins too. Stay safe you three.

Other van lifers say that an electric blanket does not use up that much battery power. I think the space heater is more dangerous and will use a lot of battery power.
I love that Luke and Glory helped film eachothers tour videos
No 4x4 - that's a Florida boy for you. Just wait until you experience the real world! Glory -- Don't you dare pull him out if he gets stuck!
