So how do you find Musk's claim that Tesla has ¼ trillion worth of inference computers on roads at the moment, when Teslas cumulative lifetime revenues are $354 Billion ($300 Billion from car sales) in last ... 20 years. Bit hyperbolic to me. Not to mention the current market cap of $550 Billion.

Regarding TeslaEconomist, yes, he is slightly more bullish, but you blew past the last portion of his post saying that “aside from that, there is no energy growth, no battery progress, and a auto company with dwindling sales and production. Still nothing to get excited about IMO.”
I don’t think that suggests that he is now completely on board. That said, I never really agreed much with his opinions on Tesla, and whether he is a bull or a bear matters little to me. Tesla is clearly and rapidly advancing FSD software, and will solve full autonomy, in my opinion, within the next 12 to 18 months. And once they do, Tesla will officially be the winner, along with everyone who bought their stock.
I haven't sold any Tesla shares since I started buying in 2019. As has been said, it is important that you have an understanding of engineering rather than economics. As Lee the 'Tesla Econimist' optimises. Elons philosophy resonates with my thinking. For example, 'the best part is no part'. It is easy to say 'KISS', Keep It Simple Stupid. The challenge is to refine design to the essence of what's required without complication.

A small part of me believes that they may also announce compact car at the same time or soon after the robotaxi. Why? Robotaxi news doesn’t Osbourne but the compact car will. So news about compact car needs to be released strategically. I’m surprised with all the journalists asking about the status of the compact car would surely understand this, especially the pro-Tesla ones.
We all believe that Tesla will without a doubt establish actual autonomy in the near future! Autonomy will open the flood gates for OEMs seeking to lease the technology, just like the NACS adaption craze. How about establishing a contest with your viewers as to who will be the first OEM to lease FSD? My guess is BYD!
@ 10:45 Troy is wrong! It does NOT take 2-1/2 years to build a battery factory! CATL built the factory next to Giga Shanghai in 8 months.
On another note, sodium batteries are coming and may replace Tesla's 4680 before they get rolling with a full head of steam. Imho The problems with 4680 were one of the biggest bottlenecks over the past 3 years.
Sodium ion are low energy density. 4680 are NMC, and are meant to be high density. They don't compete in the same market. If anything sodium might take over LFP.... But not 4680's any time soon

Perfect time to be a Tesla anti-bear: Tesla was decimated in China last week and its sales (weekly registrations) plummeted 85% YoY and Tesla grabbed only 0.7% market share with 1 907 new registrations. Last quarter was already down 19% YoY in China, but the start of this quarter is just brutal. It looks like Tesla is being ousted from Chinese EV markets.
Expect Tesla Automotive to be in red much longer than Q1 2024 alone.

History shows every tesla platform gets used in at least 2 vehicles. Models was used in X, model3 used in Y. Now we have the cybertruck platform it will be used in a bus/van of some sort, elon has already hinted at it. Imo this was the reason the cybertruck took so long, i believe they were developing the van along side it. I also think robo taxi will be used in compact. At least that was the original plan unless tesla thinks theres more money to be made in strictly robotaxi.

Elon needs to explain the difference between general like the blackberry.
Tesla needs to stop trying to forecast when full autonomy will be achieved and make plans according to their imagined timeline. When it's proven it will be obvious and they can start building robotaxis. If their lead is so far ahead of everyone else a year or two delay will not matter. In the meantime they have shareholders depending on them to pursue sensible lines of business like selling large volumes of a high quality compact EV, selling/licensing FSD as what it is right now (level 2 and possibly level 3 per regulatory approval), and selling energy storage. Investors have already been extremely generous with the valuation they've been willing to give Tesla in the past 3 years. This will not last forever.
I call bull, Why not build in Mexico and start a battery line in the plant like they do in TX now or ship batteries in from China? I heard China has an oversupply of batteries unless that rumor was false.

In fairness, I believe that Lee was not prepared for the amount of volatility of the Tesla share price, especially given the fundamentals and execution record that was playing out when the stock fell to near $100 US in January 2023. It is a wild ride and sometimes there seems to be no reason for the stock price behaviour.

Stale S/X/Y, M3 LR that's more expensive than a MY LR due to tax credit ineligibility, MY-refresh post-2024, $25K car cancelled(?), I'm looking forward to MT/C&D/R&T/Hagerty publishing their road test of the RoboTaxi GT. Tesla has the best software engineers around why would they need to buy uber? Id rather they buy panasonic or another battery maker.
I bought 14084 shares in the last dip down to low 100's. Mortgaged everything, maxed credit cards at 0% for 18 months when money was free. You name it I borrowed against it. But I expect it to hit 100 again before it goes to 300.

Tesla doesn’t need to produce 20 million autos a year to crush legacy auto. They just need 20 million in service with FSD. Then it’s game over.

While I appreciate the optimism, earnings are right around the corner. Keep in mind, Tesla has had its worst quarter in history and you can expect that Tesla is going to fall far short of Wall Street expectations. That said, it may be wise to wait to make any investment until you see how Wall Street is going to react. Tesla's stock has more potential to go so low that you could buy a lot more shares for your money. If not, and the robotaxi hype offsets the slowest quarter Tesla has ever seen, or in a long time, that should be the time to consider investing in Tesla. Consider that we have had three years of Tesla hype, and look where the stock is. Nothing has happened with Tesla that Wall Street cares about including the Cybertruck. That could be a warning.

I’ve seen a quadrupling of car sales, energy growth, vehicle, megapack, factory builds, lithium refinery build, battery development and production, Cybertruck launch along with its technology developments, worlds most popular car, semi launch, FSD/A.I. development, Bot development, DOJO development, The company is doing great things whilst the stock value is heading in the wrong direction. It's very simple. Show us the real money - not some dream about 5 years from now that it "may" happen. Lot of people have kind of lost faith in Elon.
The last 20-40 feet is an unknown feature in FSD. Where it parks and how FSD allow passenger enter and debark without using vehicle controls is not known.
We can’t tell you anything at this time Elon will be able to tell you later and in the mean time don’t believe in anything you read.
I am on the 30-day trial of FSD. I'm very let down and don't see how this can possibly run robotaxis without a driver for a long, long time.

I stopped listening to Tesla Economist because he has no conviction. If Tesla stock goes down, "I'm selling all my shares, because its the end of the world for Tesla. Its all hype. Elon sucks. So I give up." Tesla goes up or they drop a major announcement such as Robotaxi, "Have faith in Tesla, everyone. You just got to have patience and your Tesla investment will pay off big." Which is it?

I hate to say it but I stopped following Lee, the Tesla Economist, after he panic sold Tesla stock when it took that dump in 2023. I understand his explanation and sympathize but cannot empathize.
Anyone who sells Tesla stock in panic has put more in the stock than they can afford to lose OR they have over leveraged to where they have to get out. Both bad financial moves.
Why would I want to listen to someone who makes this mistake?
Now he decides to load up after hearing of a possible good thing. That's NOT investing...that is gambling and hoping to ride the stock up.
He doesn't understand and truly believe in the company itself. We do not need to follow fair weather Tesla investors. There are too many of them out there.
My advice is to dollar cost average only the money you can afford to lose into Tesla stock and hold for at least 10 years. The money you cannot afford to lose should be put in safer, if duller, investments.

I am not surprised by the non-specific response from Franz. All of Tesla’s executives have to be careful with public statements to avoid misleading shareholders or upsetting the market price of the shares or the SEC for that matter. Remember the fallout from “Funding Secured” at $420? Frankly, I was surprised to see the “promise” (that is what it means if Elon says it) of a robo-taxi reveal on 8/8. That suggests that Tesla must be pretty far along with a prototype if they can say that, especially considering the speculation storm that such an announcement will ignite. If I put on my evil thinking hat, is it possible that Tesla deliberately dropped the robo-taxi reveal announcement to improve “the story” associated with Tesla stock? Perhaps the results for Q1 are not spectacular and there is a need to drive up the stock price? I would add that such a strategy is out of character for Elon’s brutal honesty approach to all things. He has admitted to lying once on the “Funding Secured” thing when he wasn’t actually lying but instead forced to lie to save Tesla from bankruptcy.
