Hi, I just purchased 0000 steel wool from local hardware store. I removed rear louvers from my car and had serious water spots on rear window that I could not remove. I used every chemical i could find, nothing worked. I then used the steel wool. It worked absolutely excellent. I then cleaned window with rain x as you recommended. I couldn't be more happy with the results as the window looks brand new again. This works 100 %. Thank you for this video!
Ok, you get my vote. You know what quality looks like. I work for a manufacturing dealership, particularly with Toyota and now 3 years in Honda. I've also worked with Chevy (GM) and Hyundai. You are using the Factory brand wiper blades and I commend you. People do not realize the substantial amount of quality this is over the aftermarket brands. I respect you.🙌🙌
I’ve started to clean my windshield with some steel wool, thank you for the advice! It is working, but veeeery slowly, my water spots are so thick it makes me doubt they’ve ever been cleaned. Excited to have it finished eventually!
I must admit... my first try... the dry steelwool helped a lot to remove waterstains from the windshield and other windows too. We don't have rain x over here, so I make do with the steelwool. Thanks for the tip...
Dude yessss! Thanks for your time and knowledge! Car windows easy! 20 year old shower glass and aluminum trim much better! 40 year old teakwood outdoor bar lookin good and have much more work on it to go! Thanks again, Mike in DFW
My parking spot is under 3 different trees, one of which has those purple flowers of death! My car got caked up with different saps and flowers. Could not see much through the windshield. Tried goo-gone automotive, and it did absolutely nothing! I tried some citrus-based car wash soap, and again, that didn't do much, although it did a bit better than goo-gone. Luckily I had a pack of 0000 steel wool. I went to try it on the windshield, and it was turning all that dried-up sap into dust that I could easily wipe off with a microfiber towel. It'll take some time and several go-overs, but it definitely works! Thanks for the tip.
What are you going to do about the little metal fibers that are coming out of the steel wool that are going to rust by next morning lying at the bottom of the windshield. Only reason I say this is because it happen to me the first time I used this method. Also don't do this method to the mirrors the glass is way to soft I also learned this the hard way. I still use this method but when I'm done I blow off as much metal fibers as I can then rinse rinse rinse.
Great window. Although have a couple of questions. 1. Does the steel wool introduce any scratches in long term? 2. How often can this process be used? 3. Does rubbing alcohol or IPA solution damage wipers? As in the rubbers?
I was so disappointed with the water spots on my windshield and the dark tint glass in the back. I tried this method and I am so pleased with the results. The glass looks like it isn't even there.
I have been through so many products and disappointed until I came across this information. Thank you so much. I was hesitant at first seriously when nothing worked it's like should I try or not. I've even tried lemon🍋 with salt. 🙃 finally, finally, a product that works!! 👏👏Thanks again!!
And the best product for cleaning your wiper blades is denatured alcohol on a clean rag. Makes them last much longer too. (Got that from Scotty Kilmer)
Are the water spots that im seeing and cannot get out with window cleaner, mostly on the outside or are the also on the inside of my car windows? Should I use steel wool on the inside as well?
@Tommy, did any fine particles from steel wool come off while you polish the windshield? If so, how did you remove these steel wool particles? I've seen objection to using steel wool is leaving fine particles that can cause rust.
Do you use this on side windows too? I'm a little leary about them. The factory tints them and just afraid to remove those ugly spots with 0000 wool. Thank-you! ❤❤❤
Another helpful tip to Clean with Confidence! 💪🧽🧴 Thank you very much Tommy.😊 New sub here... I've been binge watching all of your videos. I love your channel! I'm sharing it with everyone. Looking forward to more of your videos.💙
Will thi work to remove rain x? A friend used rain x on their car in cold temps and probably used too much. Now theres a bad glare. Have tried dish soap, vinegar, 99$ isopropyl. And nothing worked. Finally found the rain x xtreme glass cleaner. Gonna try it hut again will have to do it in the cold as its winter here but gotta get this off asap
Both videos were informative and helpful. One question. On the video using the RainX, you show us the 2 and 1 repellent/glass cleaner bottle but the link goes to just the repellent. Does it matter which I use?
Do you know if automotive glass and home glass is the same? I have suction cup circles from when they installed my windows last year that won’t come off no matter what I try.
@@melslittleworld2 I should have been clearer, you use a rag or combination sponge and squeegee to clean the entire windshield, after that its deep cleaned.. I use the same product on my home windows. After 3 of 4 cleanings, I now wash my home windows far less than I used to. I'd say I reduced my overall home window cleanings over time by double to triple. I've been doing this at least 5 years. Weather plays a factor in when the next cleaning comes due.
@@bigguwapbrixks187 Wrong, the alcohol loosens up tar and all kinds of stuff. Hard water spots are a piece of cake. I live with on a well and the waters very hard. I should know.
@@freedomearthmoon1 hard water spots are a piece of cake ?! Who you fooling mate I detail for 4-5 years 😂 it’s a joke that you trying to push your crap onto people when EVERYONE says they are the hardest stains to remove
@@bigguwapbrixks187 I don't understand all the muss and fuss over water spots with steel wool & and the extremes people go to , just to remove them. Rain-X has a high alcohol content that makes it a great cleaner and it coats the glass with a protective coating. I wash my house windows with it. I used to wash my house windows around every 3 months. Now, I do it far less. Its the coating that repels dirt. The stuff is the best and removes road tar, etc.
Ok. I just used this method on one spot in my windshield and i rubbed the same spot for 2 minutes and nothing changed! My car has just under 20K miles so it's not old and I promise you this isn't working! I wish I could show you! 😢😢

The rain x works well, but you'll need to replace your wipers quicker afterwards.
For sure. Ceramic Detailers work better. They give the glass a hydrophobic coat and are easier on the wipers.
Make sure you like this video! It is a masterpiece with incredible content with humor yet very professional.
Thanks for the encouragement

Does the rubbing alcohol make the wipers dry and crack in a heat weather?
How do you make your wipers last longer?
Apply some dish soap, not alcohol, my wipers last longer and they are more functional
Thank you... you really helped me out.

Yes the steel wool sheds small fibers. If you are worried about it you can always wash the car afterwards to rinse them all away👍🙂
Use a leaf blower to blow away any fine leftover pieces, then wash if you feel so inclined....
Do a video on interior stains on carpet and upholstery everything you said on interior and exterior windows worked wonders on my truck❤

Will this clean the side mirrors without scratching?
I read some comments about scratching side mirros even with 0000 wool.
Using a strong strip wash and 0000 steel wool is the best way.
I heard about it but afraid of the steel part, that it might caused scratches. Will it?
It won't scratch the windshield. Buy sprayway glass cleaner and 0000 steel wool. Spray the glas cleaner on windshield and start scrubbing with wool
Rain-X windshield cleaner with its high alcohol content deeps cleans glass and accomplishes pretty much everything you just did.

quad
I bought a bottle of Rain X - the instructions say to dilute it... 1 oz per gallon - does that sound right to you? Thank you for this video.
you bought rain x windshield washer additive 😅
How can i buy this product...???can u give the link
links are in the video description box
rubbing alcohol on the rubber dont dry it out?
It would take along time, which at that point it would be time to replace you blades anyways.
Now use it on the clearcoat !
In India the local car cleaners use razor blades to remove those stains
that black stuff you pulled off wiper blades isnt dirt its color from the blades
i do not see any spots where are the water spots?
So did you use 000 or 0000? You say quad 0 but the video shows triple 0.
according to the package you showed us thats 000 not 0000. Are you using 000?
