  • Learn how to get your windshield super clean! The windows of your car or truck are what you look out of and it is important that they are clean. When you clean the windshield with my method the rain beads up and rolls off the windshield leaving great visibility. Bugs and bird poop come off really easy with one wipe of a towel. Even ice wont stick to the glass so no more scraping ice on those cold days!

@Casper Gomez You have to clean and dry the windshield before using rainx. I had to use rainx spray and paper towels to clean mine and then apply the rainx spray. My wiper motor burned out while driving smoke everywhere. Carefully got to Walmart and applied as I stated above and went home no problems didn't need my wipers. If I had used wipers you have to clean the windshield.

Use some foam spray glass cleaner and a lintless shop towel, like they sell at Walmart. It also really helps if you get one of those triangle shapped microfiber on a stick to help wipe the area at the base of the windshield and at the very top of the windshield. These are also great for getting the inside of the rear window, too.

This WORKS. I just did my car's windshield today following these exact steps, and it's like a mirror now. I could not find one single piece of dirt on it of any kind, nor smudging or anything. On the downside, I know now that it has about 300 tiny but now noticeable rock chips on the glass... lol.
The "Invisible Glass" cleaner is a miracle. It got my other windows to be almost perfect by itself, which is good enough for them. Thank you so much for this video! :D

One of the most important lessons you can teach a new driver is how CRITICAL having a clean windshield is (all windows actually). The difference in visibility is unbelievable. It also reduces eye strain during long drives - especially at night and with how much brighter headlights have been getting.
And using wax or Rain-X can save lives. One of my friends was driving into NYC across the Pulaski Skyway and a truck kicked up muddy water. Had his windshield not been treated with RainX, he almost certainly would have run into a concrete barrier and gotten killed.

Hey @ChrisFix I just wanted to say thank you I watched two of your videos last night before left work I just started detailing cars and this is my first time I’ve noticed how terribly smeared and smokey the windshields would get after I cleaned them I didn’t really use the extra steps to protect the glass I just did the wipe down with a microfiber and washed it with the technique you used and I saw an instant improvement I’m really surprised how quick it was and how great it turned out

My observations after detailing cars for years and trying various waxes... Wax tends to leave bigger water drops that join together and are harder to see through because they are less uniform and larger. They also sit on the window larger because they are bigger and it takes for force for the air to blow them off while driving. Rain-x makes the droplets go into smaller beads that are more consistent in size and spacing and it is easier to see through the droplets, and they blow off easier while driving. This is just my observation on using a few different types of waxes. (Perhaps different types of waxes produce different results.) Based on my observations rain-x provides better visibility.

Good tips... as an alternative, you can clean the glass and then use Meguiars Ultimate Quik spray wax, then lightly buff with a microfiber cloth. Gives the windshield the same slick surface that allows it to bead and roll off water droplets. A bit less labor with almost the same results. And the Ultimate Quik spray wax won't leave white residue on black plastic and trim pieces around the windshield.

I have cleaned my windows as thoroughly as I could and then put a layer of NuFinish on them and the surface was super slippery and the wipers were SMOOOOOTH. I never thought to clay bar the glass, but it's clearly a real good idea!
