Lisa’s run on the monkey bars is epic
I took some notes for my next go-round.
BONnie McMURray
Yyyyyew!
Okay, so is this like the Saved By the Bell version of Full Metal Jacket? I mean, the man in charge doesn't swear as much, but they do have a sorta fat guy to pick on. Kubrick would have been honored. I'm sure of it. 🤷♀️
This is probably as Kubrick as SBTB will ever go. Though Rockumentary has some elements...
(1) Nothing against Scarlett, but 'the Baronness' is why I turned to supporting evil.
(2) Was American Gladiators another NBC property? Does that explain all the references, like all of Screech's ALF references last season?
(3) LOL @ 7:42
1 - I hear you are not the only one afflicted by the wiles of the Baroness.
2 - American Gladiators was released in syndication, which means that any network could have picked it up. Regardless of whether NBC ran the show, it was wildly popular at the time.
3 - I'll give "Zack Morris is Trash" credit for the theme song.
How come you don't ask us to let you know if you missed anything anymore?
Did you notice they put the tire course by the lockers where people walk, isn't that against fire code, why didn't they use the gym, or don't they have a field?
Yeah they only had money for like 5 different sets😂😂 they got a gym later if I remember right the mascot one and a talent show happened there prolly more stuff but it was later seasons I think
It's a valid point, but I think the argument could be made that they kids set it up during the class time and then took it down. Or maybe it was an afterschool program. It was presented in a way that I didn't feel a need to comment on it.
But hey! That's what the comment section is for!
This is a show that the more serious they tried to make it, the more absurd it became. When is the last time anyone actually saw a 1900s oil derick anywhere? But that's what's used to symbolise extracting oil from Bayside's environmentally fragile campus.
@@michaelcooley4553 Go to Alaska or the States along the Gulf of Mexico (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama) if you want to see a 1900s oil derrick.
25 instructional weeks in the school year?
I've been in the school systems, as a student and teacher, for 25 years in South Carolina. We always had 36 weeks. 9 weeks per quarter. So Morris would be able to do his time in SC lol
You know, I've never been a math guy. Maybe it's because I skipped 11 instructional weeks each year...
What school did you go to? I went to Broome and my kids went to Dorman
@@margaretschultz6209 I went to Fort Mill High/Nation Ford High
Now I teach in the Myrtle Beach area

Funny or Die left money on the table
If only. I'd love that kind of an audience, but I'll take my grassroots fans.
@@savedbythebelldeepdives And thank you for being so engaged with the grass roots fans in the comments.
Between zmit and a very special episode they left a ton of money on the floor. People are still begging to have those series brought back but funny or die decided to make unfunny garbage instead.
Looking forward to the Jeff college dude episode and the fight between Zack and Slater...great channel 💯
Thanks! I just finished editing the video for the initial two episodes dealing with Jeff. Good times will be had by all.
There are 36 instructional weeks in a US school year for K-12.
Math has never, ever been my strong suit...
@@savedbythebelldeepdives I'm the opposite, math is my strong suit whereas grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and creative writing are not my strong suits.
There is a Saved By The Bell short film which reunites Dennis Haskins with Edward Blatchford who portrayed Rod Belding. Only in this they use there real names. I tried to send you the link but it was removed. It is here on youtube. It is funny how Dennis word for word rehashes and tells Rod aka Edward he's tired of covering for him and how he's going to dump those kids to be with some girl? Dennis of course offers to take the young teens out to lunch after Rod bails. So it's basically Saved By The Belding. Hope you can watch it and then do a video about it! 🏫📚🍔📼
Oh, I've done a video on it, as well as the video they did first called "Lost Heroes." It drops after "The Fabulous Belding Boys" on July 26th.
I wasn’t sure if you were going for: “Less about the class and more about the @ss.”
I think we've seen that THAT is what some of these episodes surely aim for.
@@savedbythebelldeepdives Haha. I meant I thought you were indicating that you were going to say @ss so it rhymed, but then said professor instead to keep it PG. Haha.
Note the blue/green lockers seen in some scenes.
For the Cadets, So I found this one interesting because the California Cadet Corps is a real organization and it's mission is very similar to JROTC, the main difference is that JRTOC programs are funded by the federal (US) government, whereas the California Cadet Corps receives it's funding from the State of California.
I just looked this up (which you would think I would have done before making the video): At the time of taping, the CaCC was in 57 junior and senior high schools and offered a non-traditional track for kids to graduate who weren't as academically strong. Very cool.
I did not know that. Another difference seems to be that JROTC programs are a course rather than a full-blown alternative education.
At first I thought you called him Teal'c like the character from Stargate SG-1 lol
Oh, I'd hate to inadvertently mess up a sci-fi reference!
Where you going to school for only 25 weeks? Less than half the year?
My wife has always said that math is not my strong suit. Maybe because I only showed up for 25 of the school weeks...
The whole Zack Morris Is Trash was done by another RUclipsr channel and was actually funny
Yes, and I appropriated it appropriately for my own purposes, which purpose is completely different from what Dashiell Driscoll was going for.
At three minutes and 23 seconds in the video, I do not like how Kelly’s father’s one hand is near her butt.
It's always pinged a little something in me, but Kelly also does a little lift on her toes, so it could be that Frank went in for something innocuous and it just looks off because of Kelly's lift. But, then again, how dare I blame Kelly for anything!?!
Nah it looks innocent enough, what you insinuating here?
Your life sucks doesn't it? It's bc of who you are.
4:12: I think after this you'd better save those for when you really need them-and we all know that you WILL need them sooner than you realize.
I've got a whole bag of "Shut Up, Dustin Diamond" over here!
25 instructional weeks in a school year??? Where did you go to school dude?
Probably your mom's house. (This unnecessary burn was brought to you by the 90s and its infatuation with "yo mamma" jokes.)
Who is the girl on the thumbnail?

Kamilla Kowal from Letterkenny
Bonnie MacMurray (played by Kamilla Kowal) from the criminally underrated "Letterkenny." She showed up in the GMMB video for "The Mentor," and she'll be back for "Running Zack" and "Rockumentary."
About the pant’s missing pocket, you see, when people are out for the day, nature calls. Therefore, one may not have some TP on hand, so one will use the pant pockets for some hygienic wiping.
And this is specifically why I hate hiking. Too many times I've been forced to rip off a shirt sleeve or use a sock. But never a pants pocket. Nature will never get me to sacrifice a pants pocket!
So Zach acted like every single military recruiter EVER 😂
I don't have experience with this, but that kind of life sounds hard.

Oooh, another basketball connection.
When the cadets first began Junior ROTC, I have noticed that Kelly, Jessie, and Lisa have their hair down. It’s supposed to either be put in a ponytail or in a bun.
Also, why didn’t the lieutenant give Lisa and her improper uniform demerits?
I have never been in Junior ROTC or ROTC, but I know that hair is not supposed to not be down.
Yeah, but the producers needed the ladies to look good on camera, and that apparently means no hair up?
This is one of my favorite episodes
As noted, I had a hard time with it. But hey, different strokes for different folks.
Solid as always, my man...
Thanks! These episodes are giving me a bit more to work with.
Why is
he saying hello twins
I was highlighting that the twins walked by three times during that one conversation. That seemed excessive.
BBBBBBBBBBONNIE McMurray!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEW!!!!!!!!!!

Those type pants was very popular in the mid 80s to the early 90s, the ripped up look was to illustrate rebelling against the establishment.
I've got a surprise reveal for those pants. Not sure when it will drop, but the wearer was not who I expected.
Did you know that Lisa Turtle was originally suppose to be a Jewish character?
I guess they figured they already had enough Jewish characters with Zach, Jesse and Screech?
Credit to Peter Engle for letting Lark play Lisa.
And, fun fact: Despite Dustin Diamond being Jewish in real life, Screech is not Jewish in the series. He's strictly Italian. This topic gets some talk in the "Running Zack" episode.
I’m confused by the red ties. I was in rotc. We wore black ties. In the winter time, at least.
I have since learned that the California Cadet Corps is a very real thing. If and when they wear ties: Also black. We can all be confused about the red ties together.
Saved By The Bell meets GI Joe and The A Team
And maybe a little Hogan's Heroes.
They look like their extras in a Captain America movie
The 1990 version? That one was rough!
_What’s up with the pants?!_
I think those are worn by by the guy who typically plays Herbert Hotus. I've got a note to revisit this in a future special.
OMFG DAT BONNIE
Yew!
no twins.
Three times passing in one scene?
