So, maybe the school owning the Max explains why so many of these school events (or quasi-school events) are being held there? The dance contest... the dinner date at the end of the fake marriage class... various pep rallies...
It's not that weird that all the radio equipment only needed one plug. I seem to recall a few times on Jem and the Holograms where they had to reassemble their all-powerful computer, Synergy, and she only required one plug. I don't even think it was a three prong! No wonder all those classic sci-fi movies had such high hopes for our future technological advancements. 😊
@@savedbythebelldeepdives I just scored a 8 CD box set of music from Jem And The Holograms! Limited promo only and comes in steelbook with a 64 page booklet. And sparkling glitter cover! Truly Outrageous! Just under 100 bucks! Outrageous LOL! 👩🎤⭐🎤💽
And that's the crime - he could have been a solid contributor. He's said in interviews that he was never asked what tricks he could do, he was just expected to do tricks when called upon by the script. I believe he toured with Britney Spears at one point.
TBH, that's not surprising. Just from the practice he got on those tricks alone, he would have been pretty decent. I know a little bit of magic, and repetition makes a massive difference as many of the tricks aren't necessarily that hard, but they do require a great deal of practice.

You asked about “why were you dancing” if nobody could see them. As someone who works in radio, sometimes you dance just to entertain yourself. I think they were just memeing on the school-band kinda sports music
I love that Peter Engel just reused all the SBTB storylines on his other shows. I remember the radio show plot on California Dreams too when Jake had a show that sucked call "Shut Up & Listen". City Guys did this plot the best(honestly City Guys did pretty much all the SBTB plots the best). They did it so good that the radio show just became a part of the show to the end.
It's odd seeing Dustin Diamond grow up on this show. While everyone else had already done their awkward growth spurts (everyone was two to three years older than him), Screech got to physically own the nerd role with how his voice changed and which body parts grew faster than others. He was awkward and perfect, which probably didn't help his perception of his time on the show...
You know, as I was watching this morning I had that very same thought. I imagine the first-time writer trying to think of a decimal-ed channel number while also helping his kid with their biology homework...
That's the plan. I don't think I even watched all the episodes when it initially ran (because it wasn't SBTB...), so it could be fun seeing what I missed.
SBTB could have done such an easy episode about Zack being a PG rated Howard Stern imitator! His "raunchyness" could have included Screech doing armpit farts on the air and Slater describing the girls he went to second base with.
Looks like I forgot to comment on this one. Why would waving a skunk in front of Slater tell him that _he_ stinks? Wouldn’t it just make Slater think whoever is holding the skunk stinks? 🤨
This could have been a fun episode, but we see their radio station in one episode. They could not simply walk in, turn it back on, and start broadcasting since they were a local FM station (on a pretend frequency, but that's beside the point.). There would have been FCC requirements, tower and transmitter inspections (is the transmitter even turned on? Did the engineer check it all out? Oh wait, they don't HAVE an engineer? That's an FCC violation.), the old board and equipment would have needed serviced, they probably would have to file a new frequency search if their 98.6 had expired since it was dormant so long. And none of the students had to go to class while they were broadcasting? The radio station could have been an excellent workshop for broadcast students, but since Zack appeared to be in charge, nobody else would get a shot. What makes it worse is that all the music they play is the watered down jazzy instrumentals heard throughout the show. No rock, no 90s pop, just the free cornball instrumentals. The WORST part is when Belding opened the mic and said "Let's go back to the late great 1968." I expected Hendrix or Zeppelin, but it was another watered down jazzy instrumental. GROAN Of all the unnecessary characters in SBTB, I think Max was the worst. His closeup magic was dull and uninspired, he LOOKED dull and uninspired, and there really was no reason for him to be there. All in all, it could have been an episode where things at Bayside changed. But no changes were made.
Fantastic points. The music really gets me at times. Scott Gale was in charge of music, but never really seemed to buy in to the teenage aesthetic. The Bo Revere song from "The Zack Tapes" was not great, but at least it was an attempt at a pop song. KKTY needed something like that, but the instrumentals ended up disappointing. Do we really think kids are skipping school to listen to KKTY so as to hear the softest of mall rock?

I just looked into this. Is this referencing that his appearance on "Married... With Children" was his last acting credit? Or did they kill him on the show?
I doubt it, as Rivers was still pretty heavy metal at this time. But the 1994 look is on point here. Maybe Rivers took notes from this guy as he built his new power pop aesthetic.
As a set dresser I love it when you point things out! I only worked on Welcome to Flatch season 2 so far. Watching videos like this paid off!

On the surface, yes. My question is: Was Max able to offset his rent in the lost revenue due to school events? If so, how was he still $10k in debt!?!
@@savedbythebelldeepdiveseasy . Max had to be a degenerate gambler .

Hey! The code's been cracked! Brilliant sleuthing, detective.
I think you'll find Screech was wearing a t-shirt with Paul McCarthy and three other guys on it. What is this 'Beetles' you speak of?
That explains it! Good catch.

It was probably 98.6 because that's the normal human temperature.
Maybe, but they didn't account for the rising temperatures from Kelly's radio show...
