Yank here; moved to Belgium October 2000 and then about 11 months later was with my mother, my wife, and 5 yo daughter was in London 09/12/2001 wandering around behind Buckingham palace in a state of mild shock when suddenly the Queen told one of the guards to invite my daughter in to walk through her garden. we could hardly believe it; then, about an hour later were in front of the palace as the royal Band played America's national anthem. we were then all in tears; especially my mom because when my daughter's age in 1943 had just discovered her father had been shot down in S Germany on a bombing run and pow'd. she had no idea he was definitely alive to be later liberated and return home safe and sound. So in 2001 that public expression of "State solidarity was very powerful and moving, setting very deep in our hearts a love for the Queen and the U.K. as well. Friends, the Queen is not dead, she has finally gone to her eternal home never to bothered with the brokenness of this world again. Jesus said- “I am the resurrection and the life.* Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.( John 11:25 NLT) May God be with and comfort all who mourn her departure, she was a lovely Lady.

Contrary to what 'The Crown' will have you believe, Charles did not have a close relationship with Camilla through the early years of his marriage. There were always been the rumors about Prince Philip having extra-marital relationships but they haven't been proven true --- people talk without it taken seriously. The producer/writer of The Crown admits taking artistic license with the filming of the show so to provide drama. The rumors of affairs were taken as truth in regard to Elizabeth and Philip's marriage in those early years. When I watch those scenes, it made me cringe. For the general public who don't read credible biographies about the Royal Family, they are going to believe this is the truth.

I would have to agree with you Ms.Kelley!! Allowing yourself to be angry is,in my opinion, the reason you can stay together!! nowadays people only communicate happy thoughts and that's unrealistic and very unhealthy!! You're allowed to be angry with someone and still love them!!

Oof... whatever you have to tell yourself. Doesn't sound like a good relationship at all. You don't have to settle for that kind of treatment.

@@bookloverwholovestocook3669 it seems pretty normal for royal men to have affairs since their marriages are all arranged and its been a common thing throughout the ages for royals to have mistresses. I'd be more surprised by a royal man actually feeling bad about cheating rather than trying to justify it.

    - I do.
    - Then might I suggest you start behaving like one!"
I guess he didn't start behaving like one and that's why she's going to outlive him - no way she about let him tarnish her life's work.

At the time of writing this 103 people have displayed their ignorance. It is natural for a king to marry for an heir but to have a mistress for love, often a mistress who is another's wife. Those kings that have failed in this regard tend to be the ones who have failed most spectacularly in their royal duties such as Charles 1, Louis XIV and Nicholas II. The line should be considered ironic, and perhaps stems from her education as much as her fathers determination to portray the Family as one.
