@@FrannieZellman alright I get it. But the entire Dubai is just the same with the other cities or emirates in UAE. Dubai is just known because it's the major tourist spot of the country that is why people got confused. They call that Country Dubai which is wrong. Dubai is not the capital city to begin with. The capital city is Abu Dhabi
So I'm Omani and i live in Muscat and I myself am surprised why your video shows it so calm haha. I guess you are touring in mid-week during working hours. maybe to those who coming later and would like to see the crowds should do so by touring Friday and Saturday after sunset. Matrah although touristic area is populated mostly by foreigners due to lower prices of everything. Oman's strategy is to keep it like that.. authentic and quite and for hikers and nature adventure enthusiasts so its not everyone's cup of tea. people always couple Oman with UAE to get sense of both modernity and authenticity in the middle-east and honestly, its one of the countries that you will love most with a local (or local tour guide) rather than a lone explorer. good luck

Please please keep it more authentic. I've traveled to some countries, trust me people look for more authenticity because modern buildings are everywhere it doesnt feel special even if it looks pretty. It looks generic. Oman going with the right direction if they keep their traditional style. Combine that with clean, decorated and well maintained infrastructure, then u will never go wrong.

Hello from Prague. Oman is my very favourite destination, I have travelled almost all of it. Next time you're there, go and see Jabal Shams canyon, it's beautiful. Also Wadi Shab and Tiwi are amazing. The south of Oman is completely different from the north. I'm looking forward to going there again, but not before India and Andamans and Nicobars in January. Take care Gabe
Great video Gabi. The Omani people are so kind. I left my watch at a Hotel that was 4 hrs drive from Muscat. I didn't even realize i had left it behind until they called me. We had travelled too far to turn around as we were doing a road trip of Oman. They arranged for someone to return my watch to Muscat 2 weeks later before we left the country. It was delivered personally to me by a staff member of the hotel. Such amazing kindness and hospitality. To this day Oman has been one of all time favourite travel destinations!
I lived / worked in the Middle East for 30 years and was privalaged to live in Oman on two occasions. In my view the Sultanate is the best Country in the entire Middle East

I visited Oman in November last year, and drove through the desert to Salalah. You are right! The nature is amazing. The ocean, the beaches, the views from the mountains. All the locals are friendly and welcoming, the camels as well as the people. 😀 I will be back again for sure.

In Muscat (and Gulf Countries), people usually avoid going out during the heat of the day, especially from morning to early afternoon. It’s just too hot during those hours, except in winter. If you want to see these places crowded, try visiting after 4 PM. That’s when the temperature starts to drop, and more people come to these places
Nice and quiet, my kind of place. Great video!
Looks a lot more chill than Dubai. And yes, a lot more authentic.

So true, Dubai might be the only country I don’t find interesting at all.
