    🎸IN THIS VIDEO
    In this ukulele lesson, you will learn how to play broken chords.
    A broken chord is a chord broken down into single notes. When we play a chord progression (such as the one I was playing at the beginning of the video) with broken chords, you instantly achieve the lovely classical-like sound beautiful on the ukulele.
    The chord progression is made up of eight chords: C F Dm G Em Am F G.
    Each chord will be played like a broken chord. Practicing this exercise will inevitably improve your fingerpicking technique as well as your overall playing.
    Enjoy the lesson.

    Thankyou. This is fantastic for a beginner: you get a melody, practise chords, left hand and right hand - and a bit of theory. And your teaching style makes the whole lesson so simple to follow.

    I bought a Ukulele as my first instrument. Learnt 4-5 of chords, 3-4 songs. Soon, it became stale and I started losing interest.
    Came across your channel and fell in love with Uke all over again. Much love from India❤️

    What a delicious little tune this is! It’s a lot of fun to be learning to play it. I’m an octogenarian and have diminished eyesight, so it takes me a little while to learn a piece since I have to memorize it. But I figure, what else do I have to do with my life! Thanks, Marco. Your musical creativity is very appreciated. I think I speak for many who follow you and love what you’re doing!

    Wow, Marco! Mind blown 🤯 What an impressive exercise/chord progression/performance piece! Can't wait to try it out when I get home. Thank you for the comprehensive teaching you do in your videos. They're so good, I don't always need the tabs but I'm glad I'm a patreon so I have access to them 🙂

    Merci beaucoup. I'm glad you're including note names in your descriptions now. I'm trying to learn the Rule of the Octave on my tenor and baritone. Funny thing is that it's the same but just shifted in the Circle of Fifths.

    This is really lovely. I'm new to uke and to your website so I may have missed a lesson or two on technique. For example, the very first note of the melody (the C chord) continues to ring out when you move to the next two notes on the next string. But if I look closely you seem to move your thumb down to stop it ringing. Is this a technique you've talked about previously on another lesson and if so could you direct me to it? Thanks. hi marco great videos. just one question. you see, im just started learning to play the uke. before this, i played the guitar. the question is, how do i remove my tendency to start and end with my thumb when plucking the uke?

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  3 года назад

      Hi Pablo. I am still struggling with the same thing sometimes. The thing that helped me was to practice patters that don’t necessarily start with the thumb so that you can slowly break the habit. Good luck, ☀️🎸
