I enjoyed my 6 months in Malaysia in 2006 - loved Malacca - lived at Cherating Beach near Kuantan in Pahang - visited Singapore also. Took a few days and went up to Kota Bharu - travelled to Penang. I had a great time the people were very friendly and I travelled by local bus most times. Enjoy Malaysia. Thank you for your vlogs.
yeh in 68 kota tinggi and kota bahru was still a lot of jungle and the communist is still roaming free in the jungle and killing villagers lol@@KrasherJack
I grew up in Singapore in the 1970s and we used to holiday in Malaysia - it was wonderful. Malacca is so lovely and the best dessert ever ....sago melaka. Yum. 💫🌟💫
Malaysia looks much more western country compared to south korea. everything looks a exotic with a variety of multiple cultures on scenery filmed by a lot of options to choose from. i want to go there one day. thanks for a new post
Just come across your blog...I've been to Malaysia about 25 time, one of my favourite places in the world, the food and people are some of the best there are...how much i envy you... I would love to have the same opportunity , I will continue watching your journey....I hate you both only because i'm jealous. Please keep living the dream
That delivery bike rider stopped in middle of the road, if we locals encounter that, definitely that guy will get scolded. 😂. Anyway, welcome to Malaysia ! Have a safe ride and joyful adventure here. 🇲🇾
Welcome to Malaysia, its a beautiful country to travel but the weather can be very hot and humid. when driving in Malaysia instead of always driving on the highways, you can take the country side drive where you will pass by all the towns and villages and enjoy all the scenery
kinda riski if your driving a van and going through a jalan tikus the roads are tiny sometimes or have weird incline but if your a good driver go for it! []~( ̄▽ ̄)~*
I'm shocked at the time of watching this amazing episode 23,304 had viewed and only 1.5K had liked, pleased folks smash the like to show appreciation of talent and time it takes to entertain us all. Thanks Chris, Marianne & Trudy we've loved watching you throughout this year. Merry Christmas to you 🎄💜🎄
dont worry...any vlog about Malaysia will get tonnes of view 😊 Malaysian loves their country and we genuinely want to know what tourist thought on our country..welcome to Malaysia
Good to see you found a good mechanic who looked beyond what you asked him to do and identified potential defects. It's always nice to be able to stop before hitting something. 😊 A good intro to Malacca.
I moved here from Canada in 2017. I will be buildi g my rig this summer in Canada. Many Overlander's don't use propane because of that issue. I am in that group. As for Malaysian driving. They will park their cars on a major highway and go for lunch. When my son came to visit, the first thing I told him regarding driving is forget everything you learned in Canada. If you read this before heading towards Thailand, take the first bridge you come to about 53 km South of Butterworth to get on to Penang Island. It's the longest bridge in Asia. Safe travels.
I love Malacca..it's nice place with delicious Malay foods especially like asam pedas, putu piring, dodol, wajik, ikan bakar, and many more.. Btw, Malacca Historical City was awarded by government as the cleanest city in Malaysia recently.. Don't forget it'll be a Malacca Visiting Year 2024 beginning next month.. Please enjoy your holidays in Malaysia👍🇲🇾😎
What an amazing part of the world. Spent time in KL with my Indonesian wife, who enjoys travel and adventures the same as you two. Based in Jakarta we travelled Sumatra, Lake Toba and then Singapore, Borneo, Sulawesi, Lombok and of course Bali many times. Visited Sumatra again last year, east Java, and plan to go to Banda Neira in December. What a fantastic trip you are enjoying, something I wish I could do ? I think your problem will be when you finish ? What next ? Stay safe the both of you from Phil & Sri Isnainingsih xx
Thanks both - yes the world is big and there is so much to see - we plan to revisit some of the countries that we have driven through too quickly - but also have a few challenge ideas in the bag too - so watch this space.
I was born in Malacca but now live in KL. Your adventure in Malacca means a lot to me and lots of familiar places. My grandfather’s house is by the river cruise. Nice. 👍
loved that you guys are finally here in my country. Don't think I have to mention it, but when you go back to the direction of north, stopping by Ipoh, and Penang is definitely a must. BUT, the east coast has got some incredible beaches, waterfalls, mountain views. So choosing to stick to east, or west when going north will be a dilemma. Oh and you definitely need to stop by Cameron Highlands. And a quick tip on food here in Malaysia, almost every distinct state you can visit here has unique delicacies you can hunt for. Due to a multiracial society, we have a richer varieties. For example, Malacca has great pastries, satay celup, dim-sum, etc. I owned a Campervan myself, if you have any questions I'd be glad to be able to answer them. Safe travels & watch those calories!
Welcome to Malaysia. Have a pleasant stay in Melaka and some other cities in Malaysia. There are more amazing visits awaiting both of you. Thank you for promoting Malaysia as one of the Must Visit tourist destination. English is widely spoken among the Malaysians. Selamat Datang.
If someone is planning to visit Malaysia, do not miss out Malacca, the Historical City of Malaysia. One of the smallest state but full of tradition and history.
"If only the walls could talk, I'm sure they'd tell us a story or two."... Your choice of words is truly captivating, and the phrase you used is both eloquent and thought-provoking. Well done!
Hoping you both have the best of health and luck in Malaysia. That Motorbike stopping so abruptly looked quite scary but Marianne has nerves of steel . I think Turkey has prepared you somewhat for drivers who do not follow the rules, lol.
That breakfast you like is called Roti Chanai and it's Indian. You can get it in London at 4 x the price at Roti King in Battersea or Euston. I love Malaysia, and go there annually.
Im thankful i found you. Great job folks. Yo I mentions a safe water carrier (blue?) I dont see a mention of it in your credits wonderful ideai usually carry life straws
Hi James - we use a lifesaver Jerry can in the van and a USB steripen - but when we get back we will upgrade for backpacking and smaller set up for sure 🌷 on our website we have details and discount code for lifesaver if you are looking for one 😉
In Japan, many (if not most) taxis use LPG, and there are many gas stations that serve LPG (more common in big cities where you can see many taxis). So, what you could have done in Japan (hopefully in Malaysia and other countries as well) is to contact taxi companies and ask for the list/location of the LPG gas stations. I have recently started watching your videos (your journey in Japan and Korea), and so I didn't know that you had a trouble with getting LPG in Japan until I saw the relevant video in November when you left Japan for Korea already. I'm sorry about it.
Korean American following your wonderful travels. It’s disgraceful that Mr Youn and his company aren’t not taking care of your Trudy. Hoping for a resolution…. and hope your memories of travels in Korea remain positive.
Korean-americans are quite different from Koreans though. Sorry but I generally have bad experiences with Koreans-koreans. Negative attitudes and service.
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. First impression of Malaysia are so awesome and very friendly people can't wait to see more adventures around Malaysia. Good luck on getting your compensation from Mr.Yune and the shipping company in South Korea.
Mighty glad that you both love Malacca ... I stay in Shah Alam, 90 minutes drive north of Malacca ... At least twice a year, me and wife would take time off staying over the weekend there ... But I reckon you two have discovered more back alleys than we did ... Cheers !!!
Malacca looks amazing! Really enjoy travelling along with you on these vlogs 😊 Been following since the US. My hubby got ME at the beginning of the pandemic and is not fit enough to travel, so I really appreciate you both documenting your experiences, for us to share with you. You're like friends we haven't met 😁 Thank you both ❤
That "back alley" seemed typically portuguese, it remembers me narrow streets in Lisbon or Porto. Fantastic video because these parts of the world are less known here in the West.
Wow! Malacca looks amazing and very quaint. I always wanted to go when i was in Singapore but never made it but now i will try to get down there ! it reminded me a bit of Hoi An in parts
Do try the pork satay with the pineapple peanut sauce when you go Melaka! Only in Melaka you can find this delicacy. Welcome to Malaysia, so happy to see you guys enjoying yourselves. Did you stop by JB? I reside in JB 🙂
Welcome to Malaysia! Hope you have a wonderful time exploring Malaysia. Yes the weather is hot here but if you like a cooler temperature, Malaysia has a couple of hills with cooler weather. Do drive up to Cameron Highlands via Simpang Pulai road ( less winding ) weather is about 19C , enjoy some tea & scones & it's much less hectic than Genting Highlands. Take care & drive safely!
You and your wife are very brave to drive van explore south east Asia. But you need to be careful for road safety. Always put safety as your most priority.
welcome to malaysia guys! hope you have lots of nice adventures here. the guy at the petrol station giving you the bag of goodies are just typical Malaysian being friendly. This is your first video i watched, so i dont know if anybody ever buy /pay for your meals yet? like wanting to pay and being informed that someone already paid for it, thats just so Malaysian..
Need MORE MORE MORE details about all the food from those food stall and night markets!!!! more close up pix of the foooood please!!! happy Malaysia memories 🙂
I just subscribed your channel. Wonderful to see you both like teenagers taking this challenging adventure. Claps to both of you. I'm from India living here in Malaysia.

Loved seeing Malacca with its colourful streets, mish-mash of building styles and winding alleys, wall art, and the cafes and restaurants alongside the river. Amazed you managed to find it back to your hotel with all the alleys you got tempted down lol. A boat trip would've been a nice addition if you'd had time, but maybe not the weird cuddly toy tourist bikes.🤣🤣
When I lived and worked in KL I drove to work . The swarms of mopeds, scooters, motor bikes , are like bees buzzing around you. None of them following any rules and totally unpredictable. Its worrying at First but you soon get used to it.
My place in malaysia we had mosque church chinese tample and indian side by side peacefully and harmony.. Just your info many of retire police in malaysia not a single day in their service using their weapon..meaning how safe malaysia is.. 😊😊😊

love ur videos! and love Trudy too.. so nice for you to name your car, me too. I even named my bike, bicycle, cars.. I believe they have spirit and if you take care of them properly, they will in turn take care of you too.
Glad I stumbled upon your channel . Happy you guys had a good time in Melaka, my hometown . You really need to be back here again. All the best in your journeys, drive safe
One thing that travelers/ expats/ tourists tend to forget that MELAKA was once a GREAT PORT CITY, they even has its own SULTANATE Please be noted that when PORTUGUES INVADERS came, THEY BURN & DEMOLISHED MELAKA GREAT MOSQUE, ROYAL TOMBSTONES & PALACE TO BUILT THEIR OWN FORTRES😢😢 So…yeah…and the world famous RENDANG that was claimed by neighbouring country also came from MELAKA (we have the oldest record of rendang by far)
Pretty sure I saw that you have got that NFC-enabled Touch N Go card (it's the pinkish one). You can just top-up your card directly using your phone to your card then. no need to top it up at tool booth or petrol stations. but of course this is only possible if your mobile phones come with NFC feature
Nice video Welcome to this part of the world. We live in Chiang mai (Northern Thailand) But for the occasion are in Malaysia (Teluk Inthan) Visiting friends. We drove down here with our car. It took us three days, total distance 2100 km. I think you will take it a little more calmly. (we will also bring that with us on the journey home). The traffic here works a little differently if you compare with Korea and Japan (have worked in these countries before) The traffic in Malaysia works better than in Thailand. We have a few rules we try to follow when traveling around this part of the world 1 Don't drive at night. Are a little too many surprises. 2 When passing through Bangkok do this in the morning between 9am and 2pm works best otherwise make an exception and do it 1am to 4am. A lot of road work and the GPS is not completely up to date. There is much to discover in the region of Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos. Take your time,. But don't forget to prepare how you intend to get back to Europe in good time. Burma is currently closed for transit (otherwise the best route).
Just finished watching the video and I recollect all the spots you went to apart from the streets with the art... next time (only 5 hours from Perth!!)
If you are able to put up at a hotel/hostel for a few days to a week when you're not on the road or during some downtime, you should be able to get Trudy's undercarriage/side sills fixed for cheap in Malaysia at a body shop. You should get it done here & I would estimate it should cost approximately +-RM1000 (170GBP) to get it sorted out. Labor & cost here is way cheaper than anywhere you might be travelling to. Godspeed & truly enjoying your travel vlogs 😊
Wow Malacca reminded us so much of our time in Singapore and the Chinese quarter. Malacca is now on our bucket list as a place we would love to visit. Thank you for bringing back such Happy memories.❤
Hello Ambassadors Just say "wow"!!! What a beautiful looking city Melaka is. Thanks for a great video! Can't wait for you to visit the mountains and waterfalls etc. I do feel that Mr. Yuon should compensate your repairs for our great sister Trudy❤❤.Have a safe trip. Love from everyone from Florida🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🥰🥰It was the same hug I remember that I gave her in Ft. Pierce🤣🤣the one maryanne gave her in this video😋😋😋
Ive been to Kuala Lumpur one time. Took a train that took really really long and I could walk faster than it to get into town. Also went to a bar there that was kind of like Wall Street. The drink price of a go up and down. It was so fun
For any tourist who needs a guide during your travel, hit me up. I am more than happy to give you advice, and if I can take my leave from office, I can follow you around for the travel, free of charge!
welcome to Malaysian winter guys, its gonna be raining cats and dogs for at least a few more months from now...as someone who's from UK i reckon you guys are used to this kinda weather in England during summer innit? xD just joking.

Welcome to Malaysia, enjoy the familiar local people and sorry about toilet.. never use back alley toilet!.. it's a "surprise"..
Thank you and great advice !! 🙌
This video is very beautiful, especially the composition of the sky and buildings.
Actually no need replace the brake pump, it just change the brake pump repair kit ( means the seal kit) save cost on it
Nice video Welcome to this part of the world.
Thank you for your tips
Thanks for visiting wonderful Malaysia hope you enjoyed in our country
Yes, thank you
Aaaahhhh a drink on the water. Looks so peaceful ❤
You are using the TNG card with the RFID function which you can top up with your phone. As long as you have a malaysian number.
I remember back in the 80s and 90s, I could only see tourists from the west walking on the street in Malacca with their huge backpacks. Memories!
Wow Malacca reminded us so much of our time in Singapore and the Chinese quarter. Malacca is now on our bucket list as a place we would love to visit. Thank you for bringing back such Happy memories.❤
malacca is muslim majority states right ? same with johore too ? or malaysia is muslim dominant country?
Subscribed! Interesting twist to see a visitor driving a camper van here in Malaysia. Totally different experience. Hope you enjoyed it here.

Ive been to Kuala Lumpur one time. Took a train that took really really long and I could walk faster than it to get into town. Also went to a bar there that was kind of like Wall Street. The drink price of a go up and down. It was so fun
