I just installed a unit I got from Amazon in my 19 F250 that retained almost everything from sync, including Fordpass remote start. There has been some settings tweaks to get it where I like it, including changing the launcher, but overall I'm happy with it so far. The manufacturer is YULU, and the only thing I've noticed missing is SYNC voice control which I never used anyway, and the zoom feature on the reverse camera. Factory 360 works and is not stretched.
@@roberts3180 Fairly happy. As long as you know going in its a Chinese radio. Another thing I've found since my last post is that the zoom isn't all I'm missing. My truck is a lariat ultimate, so it's got 7 cameras. The front, rear and side cameras work, and the birds eye view is perfect. But zoom on rhe hitch doesn't work, the camera on 3rd brake light and the wide angle cameras on the tail lights are missing. All those camera are just in the bus, and I'm guessing YULU hasn't figured out how to display them. Also, the GPS data from fordpass says my truck is in Antarctica. Overall I'm very happy with it. I do service work, so my mobile app for scheduling and routing on the dash is pretty sweet.
Wow, sorry to hear that. I have a Phoenix PX6 on my 2017 Honda Accord and so far so good and works very well and I tether it to my Android phone and so far there has not been a problem. Although I had it for less than two months, I like it. Though some of the features could be better, I'm really enjoying it.
@@kdittyb Well when I try to look for a Netflix app on Google play it states there are no app for my system. But I have Netflix bookmarked on the Google browser so it's no big deal. I have Amazon Prime, HBO Max and Showtime apps on the system and they work fine for me. I don't have Hulu so I don't know about that.

What you are describing is a buggy experience, that should be the primary focus for these units, some people have great experiences but it really comes down to the software.

So I know this is a late post to this thread but figured I would try and help anyway incase of new subscriber like myself finds this video. Channel is awesome BTW and thanks for taking the time to lend you ideas and creativity. Moving on lol, I have ran into this “Tesla Screen” issue a lot in many vehicles and a special kinda nightmare with Fords. I run a car audio shop (NOT TRYING TO SELL ANYONE ANYTHING NOT WILL I MENTION THE SHOP NAME OR CONTACT INFO) and with the dawn of Covid the demand for radios way out numbered the supplies. It led a lot of us that normally don’t install customer owned equipment to getting off our high horse and help people out, in turn helping us. So I became a dealer for Phoenix and some other brands. After much wasted time and burning up man hours I canceled those accounts. But you see refuse where people love them and then somewhere they hate them. A lot of the brains that people dislike is simply because it’s the cheapest version of those style radios you don’t spend $90,000 on a pick up truck and then bargain shop for the motherboard that runs it lol (even though we all do that’s how we can get the pick up trucks). But the problem is not in the companies but in the product after much research I have found that it’s all in the tablet. I saw a company called Linkswell and they have plenty of RUclips videos and they’re not perfect but I know the owner and I know what he goes through to try to get these radios as close as he can they only do a select amount of cars unlike the other brands that do one and almost every car made. The reason why is to perfect the brand, so these tablets are just like anything else if you’re on your way to a big box retailer to buy a $1000 Samsung tablet and decide to stop and get a Acer at $199 because they both run Android 8.1 or what have you and we all know there is a big difference lol. I've had my px6 for over a year. Its quirky but it definitely has not been as bad as yours. Some of the apps stopped working but its not as annoying. I believe you had a defective unit.
One of the issues I'm commonly seeing is that there's too much tech in the car the screen is installed in. These are better for base model cars with less stuff tied to the head unit.
I mean, I see what you're seeing but, Tesla managed to do it. Most of these product purchases are out of hope, I assume. I was interested because I use my Explorer PUI to travel a lot and figured it would automated things. I'm not now but ....
It’s 2024 and I have had mines for 6 yrs now… But I have learned it cut the Bluetooth off if I wanna use the built-in CarPlay thru the zconnection. It picks up the Wi-Fi from the CarPlay. You can’t run the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the same time.
I just got one yesterday and it never turned on. I’m waiting for tech support to call me, but I’m sure that I will result in getting a replacement. I’ll make sure I put a small mark or look for a serial number to make sure they don’t give me the same thing refurbished
I had the Phoenix Mark III installed in my Infiniti Q50S in 2018 and had the same issues back then…long startups, multiple resets, black screens, glitching out, faint static that could not be eliminated with even the most optimal settings, screen wasn’t bright enough in the afternoon with 5% window tint, sometimes up to 15min to set up hotspot which had to be done manually vs automatically, odd user interface with odd placement of controls and video boxes, CarPlay rarely worked, completely customizable homepage yet insanely cumbersome to create…the list goes on and on. I had the same hesitation uninstalling because the screen looked so badass and had at least a fraction of Apple CarPlay but I ended up going back to my OEM double display. Sold the unit 2 weeks later and did not regret it. Bought a QX60 recently and was wondering if Phoenix got out of the “prototype” phase with these screens but apparently not! Thanks for the review, I’ll be buying an overpriced Apple CarPlay integration kit instead.
The Phoenix head units have come a long way since 2018... Have the android 9 model in my 2016 F150 for a little over a year now and works Great... Boot up is a few seconds longer than the stock infotainment sync 3 system .
You idiots need to understand that Phoenix is just a reseller not the maker of the actual head units.. you can find the same head units on Ali express.. without the ridiculous prices
I have the same radio, worked great for 3 years and suddenly did what yours is doing. Just went black. Everything works, but no screen... Waiting on a reply from customer support. I'm well over the warrenty time but maybe they have a fix. I LOVE these radios. Way better looking then any other aftermarket radio for these trucks... But just some cheap stuff sometimes
All I really want is a larger display to fill out the bezel area. The stock screen makes it look as if there's a larger display that's supposed to go there in higher trims. I might get an Android unit but only if I can find one that completely retains the stock SYNC system so I don't have to rely on the aftermarket UI or wireless components. I have a similar head unit for a BMW and it's really disappointing as well. The sad thing is that it's mostly a software problem. Even basic things like playing audio didn't work right. I feel that all of these Chinese head units are pretty much the same in that respect.
@@owencrosby8361 There is a version that retains the OEM interface as well as adding Android. Also, the BMW head unit I have also retains the factory interface and can switch back and forth between that and Android.
I just got a 2008 superduty and it has no screen in it at all. I'm just going the basic route especially after watching your video. I bought a cd mount and a 9 inch tablet that has android auto and mirroring.

Update. Over two years later and mine is still working great! Phoenix Automotive Support continues to be great as they have an Android 10 update I am considering. New stuff breaks. Things go bad. That is life. Tech support (when good like Phoenix Automotive) is your friend.......
I hear you on this I purchased a unit from Rhino Radios for my Toyota tundra with in 2 months of having the unit it started to show problems would be drivint and it would display the rearview camera as if it was on reverse, clearly reached out to the manufacture gave the runarrounds didnt solve anything added an additional 300.00 tag to a 900 pot already and purched the "new PX6" dind't work at all had to take it all down and install my factory unit back expensive leasson learned nice gimicky units but are worthless....
when you leave the house, your phone may be swapping from home wifi to cellular data. maybe that's why it disconnects? I am going to try the Joying 11.6.
So the autotec integrates the Ford apim and retains the entire system. I haven't bought it yet. If you do I love to watch a video with an honest review.

I installed a Belsee 12.1 screen that rotated and tilted. After upgrading to android 9 from 8 and getting most things to work unit quit working. So started looking at Pheonix units and found a fb group that is run by a Russian programer who supplies upgraded custom firmware to get all to work.so waiting for the mew units to come out.
Did you ever update the unit? Also, how much RAM did you get when you purchased the unit? The reason i ask is because the units are Android based and come with the basic firmware out the box. Everyone should know by now that Android tablets are highly RAM dependent and the more RAM you have, the smoother the unit will perform. I always opt for the max RAM available and it ensures that the unit will perform the best, Thats is the reason why there were so many complaints about lag with the earlier versions of the unit. I have had the same unit in two different vehicles over the past 5 years and only ever had minor issues that were fixed by customer support. Seems like your gripes and complaints were due to your personal choices and you never gave the unit a chance. Also, you can get the Sergey Firmware update and it changes the whole unit and opens up more options.
There is a Tesla-like system for my Chevrolet Cruze I didn't use the car for a day and a half and I tried to activate the system, it didn't work. The Android system crashes and I don't have a restart button outside. It may be that the system needs to be disassembled and it is inside.
My sync3 died and Ford wanted $1300 for a replacement so I went with the PX6 2 years ago...I've had no issues. However, their is a glitch where you have to touch the radio then the Bluetooth (phone) buttons to get the audio to play properly if trying to just connect BT. It works every time, but that is a bit annoying. Android Auto works great, in fact that is all I use now on the unit. The backup camera works well and the full time front facing camera (supplied by Phoenic) is nice and I'm happy with it. Just purchased one for my Camaro...let's hope that I have a similar, positive, experience. Phoenix Tech support is really good as well...
I just pre-ordered the new phonex 12.1 headunit for my jeep jl,suppose to be better then the px6 and comes with 6 gig ram and 128 rom so when ever I get it I'll see how it compares to yours.
Mine does everything you are describing or I can add to it. It will connect to Bluetooth, but only play bass over the RCA. No voice at all or it will overheat from long trips and go into a black screen. Currently the black screen is on go out, but I completely agree with you. These radios are pieces of shit currently looking for a replacement for anyone that ask it came with the truck when I purchased it
i use hotspot every once in a while with my 13 pro max and it stays on forever until i shut it off or reboot my phone, my friends are constantly reminding me to shut it off when they see it broadcasting my name as a wifi access point lol
I also can't say that I am 100% happy with my PX6 that I bought about 4 weeks ago, the unit was stuck on no signal from the reverse cam and I couldn't turn it off or do anything until I disconnect the decoder box. Spent about a week talking to phoenix and in the end I told them that we should just go ahead and cut the reverse cam wire and that they just needed to tell me which one to cut. About a day later I got the info that I needed and cut the brown reverse wire. I have a 2007 Lexus GS300 so the car is a bit older already, so it's not easy to find something that is remotely close to the PX6. It's doing what it's doing, but if one day something better comes out I'll for sure change it.
I Bought The GUAutoTech Big Screen For My 2015 Lariat A Year Ago. Only Thing I Don’t Like Is The Time It Takes To Load Up. Of Course I Do Have A 512GB Corsair SSD Flash Drive Plugged In That’s Full Of Music, Completely Full. But I’ve Had No Issues With The Unit. I Did Pay $2,000 For It. I Looked At The Phoenix And Read Too Many Negative Things About It.
Get the gen 2 or 4 of the linkswell Tesla style radio I tested it out on 1 of my trucks and I loved it I just finish installing it on my other f150,f250 and I absolutely love it I was able to retain the start stop feature you should try it.
I bought the Px6 for my silverado in 2019 and had some issues but nothing major like yours. I will admit the support from them sux. If you do have major issues then they will replace it but you have to buy a new unit from them then ship the old one back and then they refund you which is quite a cheek for them to ask
We have one in our 2016 mustang and it has white screened and is useless. I'm putting the stock one in until I can find something better as we are just out of the warranty period 🤬🤬🤬
Interesting. It’s now 3 years since this video and all of the various videos on this unite by people that have installed it are raving about it. So I wonder if the manufacturers have improved it or if this guy just got a bad one? I’m thinking about getting one myself, hence me watching A LOT of install videos on it.
I’d also bought the 16 inches vertical screen for my 2014 land cruiser and I’d could never got it work. They sent me 3 replacement units and none of them worked on my 2014 LC. Their support staff seem to be genuinely care about my issues but no resolution.
Yes I bought it from Phoenix automotive. I’d ended up putting my original deck back. For almost a year communicated with them. I still don’t have any resolutions. The unit I bought it’s still in my garage collecting dust.

I have the hideous 4 inch screen (whatever the real size is) and I am looking to upgrade. The one for my 2020 GT is still on preorder so I havent purchased one yet. It looks similar to a unit I bought off ebay from China. Had nothing but problems at the start and no display only AC fans come on and hazard lights. There was a problem. With the agreement board. Had to jumper the positive wire too to get it going. It's working now but there are thousands of settings and no instruction manual so picking up things as I go along. Haf I known how much trouble I was going to have I probably wouldn't have got one. The tech support is good and communicate over whatsapp. I have connectivity issues to but seem to have sorted that by tethering. P.S I dropped 2 screws into the abys too!
1 read resolution before buying one, 2 his overheated, it is by vents that aren't shielded, 3 apple doesn't connect as easy as android phones to wifi. limited connection options, 5 install mini fan if needed via usb support.
Just out of curiosity did you check the fuse on the back of the radio? With these Android units well the Chinese ones they often come with crappy fuses. My unit stopped working just like yours and I replaced the fuse. Then it worked again. 9/10 when these units stop working? thats what it is
dam my brother you had a lot of issues. I had none of those issues but I don't have Phoenix Px6. I bought mine from another vender and I have a Jaguar. I love it and have no problems.
I have one in my 2017 Dodge Durango and I've only had one issues, my reverse camera would freeze while backing up ever so often.. smh but that's it. No other issues, and it's been installed for about 1 1/2 years. I'm about to install on in my kids mother ford edge.. maybe it's a Ford thing.. guess we'll find out.
I had a similar issue that you just reminded me about- every so often it thought there wasn’t a backup camera and would display static. It would work again the next time you started the car
I know it's been a while since you purchased yours and yes, I might've made the same mistake lol. Do you happen to recall how long it took you to actual get the radio ? The website seems shady now that I can't locate my order and I haven't seen any type of movement for 4 days. I'm was looking to buy one for my Tahoe but I have IOS which means there's a new major update on the way in September 2022 IOS 16 which will probably worse with this older tech. If the PX6 would WiFi update it might work okay but I think that I will wait for the next generation. Thx for the video.
My brothers Kenwood died just like this a week after he bought it. It's a $1,100 unit. It's also a top name brand. Things go wrong with electronics sometimes. Period
Try AliExpress they sell them at a better price and you can customize the features different models Phoenix automotive add their own software that makes the screen mess up like this
just bought a car that has a px3 installed and I want to take it out. Its a horrible unit, gladly the previous owner sold the vehicle and had the sync 2 radio in the trunk of the car. I agree with you and I have an android.
I've heard hot and cold reviews on these too.. Idk what version I have but it's the 10.1 for my 2014 f150... as for the last year ot has worked great..my only gripe is it has blockers for certain apps like Netflix Hulu etc.. other than that it looks great sounds great works great.. I'm wondering if they can't keep up w the more modern technology in newer vehicles than my basic nuts 2014...
I had the same problem with Netflix but there’s a fix for it. Try searching the Phoenix forums. I had to download a certain version of Netflix from there
The hotspot thing is an iPhone problem. I have to connect my laptop to my company iPhone hotspot to do field reports and clock in/out and it disconnects itself after a couple minutes. It's annoying and makes me hate iPhones.
@@ZeroToAwesome I've always been an Android supporter, and it's easy to be when you run iphone and Android side by side in a daily basis. That is just one of the things that annoys me with them. Lol.
That stereo has its flaws too, but not enough to make me take it out. The 4Runner is due for a mod that has been sitting on a shelf for far too long so maybe soon!
I think he really didn't want to install the unit to begin with? Maybe he just wanted to make a video with it? No shade but this just shows how good seller's customer support is. At least they reached out and offered solution/alternative if you end up getting a defective product.

Man, you got yourself a bad deal. I have a Tesla style screen for my Lexus and I can’t complain. I fitted it myself and have had only two problems in the last two years. It’s a dream imho. I can go on Netflix, RUclips, Amazon, waze and surf the net. It’s so good for when sitting in traffic or waiting around your car.
@@jamiebaker4622 it was quite easy as it was plug and play. It was the first time that I’ve done any work on any vehicle though 😂 I would say to be careful when taking out the air vents. I’ve seen a few videos where people have scratched their dashboard while removing them. I put tape around the edges to keep them safe. I actually forgot to hook it up to the obd2 plug, but that wasn’t mush of an issue. The bottom line is it was all worth it. I can read my cars performance during and after driving. I have access to everything and the apps for skins and whatnot are really good. You can download anything on google play and buy updates from some really good creators. The inside of my car looks futuristic and it’s a 07 model 👍

I've had my px6 for over a year. Its quirky but it definitely has not been as bad as yours. Some of the apps stopped working but its not as annoying. I believe you had a defective unit.
It's shit, I had one over a year, app crashes , lag an stutters. Total junk for 550$
One of the issues I'm commonly seeing is that there's too much tech in the car the screen is installed in. These are better for base model cars with less stuff tied to the head unit.
Yeah naa, for the price people pay for these trash units they should be able to work with any vehicle period.

It’s 2024 and I have had mines for 6 yrs now…
But I have learned it cut the Bluetooth off if I wanna use the built-in CarPlay thru the zconnection. It picks up the Wi-Fi from the CarPlay. You can’t run the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the same time.
I just got one yesterday and it never turned on. I’m waiting for tech support to call me, but I’m sure that I will result in getting a replacement. I’ll make sure I put a small mark or look for a serial number to make sure they don’t give me the same thing refurbished

I had the Phoenix Mark III installed in my Infiniti Q50S in 2018 and had the same issues back then…long startups, multiple resets, black screens, glitching out, faint static that could not be eliminated with even the most optimal settings, screen wasn’t bright enough in the afternoon with 5% window tint, sometimes up to 15min to set up hotspot which had to be done manually vs automatically, odd user interface with odd placement of controls and video boxes, CarPlay rarely worked, completely customizable homepage yet insanely cumbersome to create…the list goes on and on.
I had the same hesitation uninstalling because the screen looked so badass and had at least a fraction of Apple CarPlay but I ended up going back to my OEM double display. Sold the unit 2 weeks later and did not regret it. Bought a QX60 recently and was wondering if Phoenix got out of the “prototype” phase with these screens but apparently not! Thanks for the review, I’ll be buying an overpriced Apple CarPlay integration kit instead.
The Phoenix head units have come a long way since 2018... Have the android 9 model in my 2016 F150 for a little over a year now and works Great... Boot up is a few seconds longer than the stock infotainment sync 3 system .
You idiots need to understand that Phoenix is just a reseller not the maker of the actual head units.. you can find the same head units on Ali express.. without the ridiculous prices

I have the same radio, worked great for 3 years and suddenly did what yours is doing. Just went black. Everything works, but no screen... Waiting on a reply from customer support. I'm well over the warrenty time but maybe they have a fix. I LOVE these radios. Way better looking then any other aftermarket radio for these trucks... But just some cheap stuff sometimes

I've never had any issues. I had two for different cars and about to get a third. I like them. No issues
All I really want is a larger display to fill out the bezel area. The stock screen makes it look as if there's a larger display that's supposed to go there in higher trims.
I might get an Android unit but only if I can find one that completely retains the stock SYNC system so I don't have to rely on the aftermarket UI or wireless components.
I have a similar head unit for a BMW and it's really disappointing as well. The sad thing is that it's mostly a software problem. Even basic things like playing audio didn't work right. I feel that all of these Chinese head units are pretty much the same in that respect.
Retaining the sync isn’t a priority with manufacturers so far the one in our mustang is pretty much flawless
@@owencrosby8361 There is a version that retains the OEM interface as well as adding Android. Also, the BMW head unit I have also retains the factory interface and can switch back and forth between that and Android.
I just got a 2008 superduty and it has no screen in it at all. I'm just going the basic route especially after watching your video. I bought a cd mount and a 9 inch tablet that has android auto and mirroring.

Update. Over two years later and mine is still working great! Phoenix Automotive Support continues to be great as they have an Android 10 update I am considering. New stuff breaks. Things go bad. That is life. Tech support (when good like Phoenix Automotive) is your friend.......
I hear you on this I purchased a unit from Rhino Radios for my Toyota tundra with in 2 months of having the unit it started to show problems would be drivint and it would display the rearview camera as if it was on reverse, clearly reached out to the manufacture gave the runarrounds didnt solve anything added an additional 300.00 tag to a 900 pot already and purched the "new PX6" dind't work at all had to take it all down and install my factory unit back expensive leasson learned nice gimicky units but are worthless....
when you leave the house, your phone may be swapping from home wifi to cellular data. maybe that's why it disconnects? I am going to try the Joying 11.6.
So the autotec integrates the Ford apim and retains the entire system. I haven't bought it yet. If you do I love to watch a video with an honest review.

I installed a Belsee 12.1 screen that rotated and tilted. After upgrading to android 9 from 8 and getting most things to work unit quit working. So started looking at Pheonix units and found a fb group that is run by a Russian programer who supplies upgraded custom firmware to get all to work.so waiting for the mew units to come out.
work.so is a Chinese website that does nothing.

Did you ever update the unit? Also, how much RAM did you get when you purchased the unit? The reason i ask is because the units are Android based and come with the basic firmware out the box. Everyone should know by now that Android tablets are highly RAM dependent and the more RAM you have, the smoother the unit will perform. I always opt for the max RAM available and it ensures that the unit will perform the best, Thats is the reason why there were so many complaints about lag with the earlier versions of the unit. I have had the same unit in two different vehicles over the past 5 years and only ever had minor issues that were fixed by customer support. Seems like your gripes and complaints were due to your personal choices and you never gave the unit a chance. Also, you can get the Sergey Firmware update and it changes the whole unit and opens up more options.
You should try a different CAN decoder box. They ussualy go out and the device won't even boot. They are 10-20$.
There is a Tesla-like system for my Chevrolet Cruze
I didn't use the car for a day and a half and I tried to activate the system, it didn't work.
The Android system crashes and I don't have a restart button outside. It may be that the system needs to be disassembled and it is inside.
Weird gripe about the hotspot since it has nothing to do with the head unit. Also that is exactly how you want your hotspot to function.
How is the sound quality, is it better than a factory system.
My sync3 died and Ford wanted $1300 for a replacement so I went with the PX6 2 years ago...I've had no issues. However, their is a glitch where you have to touch the radio then the Bluetooth (phone) buttons to get the audio to play properly if trying to just connect BT. It works every time, but that is a bit annoying. Android Auto works great, in fact that is all I use now on the unit. The backup camera works well and the full time front facing camera (supplied by Phoenic) is nice and I'm happy with it. Just purchased one for my Camaro...let's hope that I have a similar, positive, experience. Phoenix Tech support is really good as well...
I just pre-ordered the new phonex 12.1 headunit for my jeep jl,suppose to be better then the px6 and comes with 6 gig ram and 128 rom so when ever I get it I'll see how it compares to yours.

Mine does everything you are describing or I can add to it. It will connect to Bluetooth, but only play bass over the RCA. No voice at all or it will overheat from long trips and go into a black screen. Currently the black screen is on go out, but I completely agree with you. These radios are pieces of shit currently looking for a replacement for anyone that ask it came with the truck when I purchased it
i use hotspot every once in a while with my 13 pro max and it stays on forever until i shut it off or reboot my phone, my friends are constantly reminding me to shut it off when they see it broadcasting my name as a wifi access point lol
I also can't say that I am 100% happy with my PX6 that I bought about 4 weeks ago, the unit was stuck on no signal from the reverse cam and I couldn't turn it off or do anything until I disconnect the decoder box. Spent about a week talking to phoenix and in the end I told them that we should just go ahead and cut the reverse cam wire and that they just needed to tell me which one to cut. About a day later I got the info that I needed and cut the brown reverse wire.
I have a 2007 Lexus GS300 so the car is a bit older already, so it's not easy to find something that is remotely close to the PX6. It's doing what it's doing, but if one day something better comes out I'll for sure change it.

I Bought The GUAutoTech Big Screen For My 2015 Lariat A Year Ago. Only Thing I Don’t Like Is The Time It Takes To Load Up. Of Course I Do Have A 512GB Corsair SSD Flash Drive Plugged In That’s Full Of Music, Completely Full. But I’ve Had No Issues With The Unit. I Did Pay $2,000 For It. I Looked At The Phoenix And Read Too Many Negative Things About It.
Mine works great but some things I hate about it.
Get the gen 2 or 4 of the linkswell Tesla style radio I tested it out on 1 of my trucks and I loved it I just finish installing it on my other f150,f250 and I absolutely love it I was able to retain the start stop feature you should try it.
I bought the Px6 for my silverado in 2019 and had some issues but nothing major like yours. I will admit the support from them sux. If you do have major issues then they will replace it but you have to buy a new unit from them then ship the old one back and then they refund you which is quite a cheek for them to ask
We have one in our 2016 mustang and it has white screened and is useless. I'm putting the stock one in until I can find something better as we are just out of the warranty period 🤬🤬🤬
Interesting. It’s now 3 years since this video and all of the various videos on this unite by people that have installed it are raving about it. So I wonder if the manufacturers have improved it or if this guy just got a bad one? I’m thinking about getting one myself, hence me watching A LOT of install videos on it.
I’d also bought the 16 inches vertical screen for my 2014 land cruiser and I’d could never got it work. They sent me 3 replacement units and none of them worked on my 2014 LC. Their support staff seem to be genuinely care about my issues but no resolution.
Yes I bought it from Phoenix automotive. I’d ended up putting my original deck back. For almost a year communicated with them. I still don’t have any resolutions. The unit I bought it’s still in my garage collecting dust.

It looks similar to a unit I bought off ebay from China.
Had nothing but problems at the start and no display only AC fans come on and hazard lights.
There was a problem. With the agreement board. Had to jumper the positive wire too to get it going.
It's working now but there are thousands of settings and no instruction manual so picking up things as I go along. Haf I known how much trouble I was going to have I probably wouldn't have got one. The tech support is good and communicate over whatsapp.
I have connectivity issues to but seem to have sorted that by tethering.
P.S I dropped 2 screws into the abys too!

1 read resolution before buying one, 2 his overheated, it is by vents that aren't shielded, 3 apple doesn't connect as easy as android phones to wifi. limited connection options, 5 install mini fan if needed via usb support.

Just out of curiosity did you check the fuse on the back of the radio? With these Android units well the Chinese ones they often come with crappy fuses. My unit stopped working just like yours and I replaced the fuse. Then it worked again. 9/10 when these units stop working? thats what it is

dam my brother you had a lot of issues. I had none of those issues but I don't have Phoenix Px6. I bought mine from another vender and I have a Jaguar. I love it and have no problems.
I have one in my 2017 Dodge Durango and I've only had one issues, my reverse camera would freeze while backing up ever so often.. smh but that's it. No other issues, and it's been installed for about 1 1/2 years. I'm about to install on in my kids mother ford edge.. maybe it's a Ford thing.. guess we'll find out.
I had a similar issue that you just reminded me about- every so often it thought there wasn’t a backup camera and would display static. It would work again the next time you started the car

I'm was looking to buy one for my Tahoe but I have IOS which means there's a new major update on the way in September 2022 IOS 16 which will probably worse with this older tech. If the PX6 would WiFi update it might work okay but I think that I will wait for the next generation. Thx for the video.

My brothers Kenwood died just like this a week after he bought it. It's a $1,100 unit. It's also a top name brand. Things go wrong with electronics sometimes. Period
Try AliExpress they sell them at a better price and you can customize the features different models Phoenix automotive add their own software that makes the screen mess up like this

just bought a car that has a px3 installed and I want to take it out. Its a horrible unit, gladly the previous owner sold the vehicle and had the sync 2 radio in the trunk of the car. I agree with you and I have an android.
I've heard hot and cold reviews on these too.. Idk what version I have but it's the 10.1 for my 2014 f150... as for the last year ot has worked great..my only gripe is it has blockers for certain apps like Netflix Hulu etc.. other than that it looks great sounds great works great.. I'm wondering if they can't keep up w the more modern technology in newer vehicles than my basic nuts 2014...
I had the same problem with Netflix but there’s a fix for it. Try searching the Phoenix forums. I had to download a certain version of Netflix from there

The hotspot thing is an iPhone problem. I have to connect my laptop to my company iPhone hotspot to do field reports and clock in/out and it disconnects itself after a couple minutes. It's annoying and makes me hate iPhones.

That stereo has its flaws too, but not enough to make me take it out. The 4Runner is due for a mod that has been sitting on a shelf for far too long so maybe soon!

Man, you got yourself a bad deal. I have a Tesla style screen for my Lexus and I can’t complain. I fitted it myself and have had only two problems in the last two years. It’s a dream imho. I can go on Netflix, RUclips, Amazon, waze and surf the net. It’s so good for when sitting in traffic or waiting around your car.

I would say to be careful when taking out the air vents. I’ve seen a few videos where people have scratched their dashboard while removing them. I put tape around the edges to keep them safe.
I actually forgot to hook it up to the obd2 plug, but that wasn’t mush of an issue.
The bottom line is it was all worth it.
I can read my cars performance during and after driving. I have access to everything and the apps for skins and whatnot are really good. You can download anything on google play and buy updates from some really good creators. The inside of my car looks futuristic and it’s a 07 model 👍
