    Take this guy's warning seriously. I bought one of these Phoenix Android Sterio for my F-150 two years ago. Its total junk. I tried to work with the seller . Once they get your money . Your screwed .
    two years I tried to work with them . Its not a wast a time. It does what it wants and you never know what it will do next . Please don't buy it .

      i saw reviews people say shit freeze alot and cords are short, just get an better radio screen, do not buy it

      Iv never had a issue with costumer support. They offer all the help I needed, and even when my screen died after 3 years offered to fix it lmao

      My 13.1 for my ram 2020 works absolutely flawlessly. We also installed the 360 camera system. And everything is working perfectly. I got the 6g 🤷‍♂️ perhaps you didn’t install correctly.

    I bought one of these 3 years ago for my lexus and it worked fine and is still working fine. I recommend it to two others friends of mine (both are lexus owners) and they have not had any issues either. Sorry guys who had issues but I haven't had any.

      Mine sucks lags like crazy and goes to factory reset from time to time when it freezes. If i use the heat it freezes.

    I have this one in my F-150 and I love it. I browse the internet, I can look at my ring cameras, adjust the thermostat at my house on the way home, look in my Samsung family hub fridge to see if i need to go to the grocery store and play around with random apps. Sucks that you’ve had a bad experience. Hoped you found a better radio!

    Just had the Phoenix automotive 13.6 screen in my 2019 ram 1500. Looks great…works better than the factory stereo once I learned how to use it. Love mine.

    I have one in my 2016 mustang. No lagging, no problems just don’t know how to update apps but other than that mines has been good to me. Had it for 3 years now

    They definitely have quality control issues. For my Cadillac, the first one I received the screen burned out on day one... literally...it smoked. They repaired it, it burned out again. They sent me a brand new unit and it's been working great so far. As for customer service I've had a great experience with them. If you go to "more"->"request tech support" they will call you and go through issues you have. May be a new thing they setup since your experience.

      @@brandonm5752 I remember it taking a while like a month or two. The repair they sent was fairly quick, but the original and replacement took some time.

    You obviously didn’t know how to install it correctly because mine works absolutely flawlessly and perfect. We love it 360 camera. Everything works perfect. I totally recommend it and I’m not no salesman for this place. I bought one just like you.

    Damn. Wish I had seen this before I bought it. I just installed the 4Runner huge 16 inch display radio and it's glitchy as hell. Navigation sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Audio for navigation gets chopped off so you miss half of what Google maps is trying to tell you. Like, "in 400 yards, turn right.". All you hear is "...ards turn right". Sometimes it doesn't even know where I am.

    I bought an android radio like this, but not as complicated, since the original radio didn't control so much crap. Got it on a Frontier, so far so good, has some issues, but an update firmware they sent me did the trick. I don't even think you can update these kind of Radios because of all the complications of controlling so many other things. I have an 03 infiniti FX45 and the radio sucks, but controls so many other things, I was thinking of installing something like this, Two years has passed, not sure if things have gotten better with these all in one radios? Do you know if they ever released an update for your android radio? Or did you just return it and stick the the oem?

    I got one from AutoTec couple months ago and it works perfect on my truck. my truck comes with sync 3 and the one I got is the 14.4 model.

    I just bought one off of Amazon.. hope that helps the customer service . Im still trying to figure out if i can use my xm on these and do i have to have a sim card or can i blietooth to ot and have all my apps and stuff😅

    I hope people here see this comment. If you are interested in buying one of these Radios, don't do it. I repeat, DO NOT DO IT. I purchased one a year ago for my 2017 Nissan Titan. Within my first week of using it, I began having issues.
    1. My radio would randomly began turning the volume up on it's own and wouldn't stop.
    2. My AC button would only work to turn the AC up but not down.
    3. My seat warmers high setting stopped working. It would turn on but would use the low setting.
    4. The screen itself would glitch out and stop working.
    These are just some of the issues. I contacted their support team and got with the tech team for assistance. I'd say about 50% of the appointments I had scheduled, the Techs would either not show up for the zoom call, or they would end up calling 30-40 minutes late. Whenever I did speak with the techs, I did everything they asked of me, including removing the system so they can look at the wiring, Running new software updates, factory resets, etc. Nothing was fixed. Finally, one of the techs looks at my front screen and says "oh is that a Tundra" and I say Yes, for some reason it shows a Tundra even though I have it set to Nissan. He then tells me they sent a unit with the wrong configuration and that's why I'm having issues. So I ask if I can exchange my unit for a new one and they tell me I can, but I need to send my old one back first, pay for a new box to ship it out and then I have to wait for a new one to become available. Or I can pay a security deposit and they'll send me a new one. Both terrible answers. When I say I don't want to do this and that it's not fair to me as a customer who spent $900 dollars on a unit, to have to spend even more money for the Lemon they sent me.
    Bad move?
    They didn't like that. From that point forward, they have refused to help me and then started telling me that my unit is out of the 1 year manufacturers warranty. Thankfully, I purchased the extended warranty. So they tell me I need to use the extended warranty. I contact the extended warranty company and they're refusing to help me because they say the issue occurred within the year manufacturers warranty and they have to cover it. So now I'm out a Radio, 900 dollars and I have nothing to show for it.

    I bought a unit off AliExpress which is far cheaper in price. I also added a small cooling fan to the back of the unit which came with its own power cord harness that replaces your 6 pin USB harness. It’s supposed to help with random restarts and touch issues etc. none of which I’ve experienced.

    Thanks for the cool video...the truth hurts sometimes....it probably does suck severely....I had my hopes up on getting one for my Cadillac ATS . The factory toutch screen has died twice..and it's down again,,non responsive screen 🤦🤦🤦I was hoping this Android carplay was going to answer my prayers, for an affordable alternative..🤪🤪on eBay they are around 2 to 3 hundred dollars for android Tesla style 🤪🤪. . I'm just tired of paying 12 to 15 hundred on factory replacement ..comes with 2 years warranty but the thing kicks the bucket a few months after the warranty. How much did you pay for it...and would you recommend another name brand??? Thanks🙏🙏🙏

    I have been doing a lot of research on these units because lets be honest they look really cool however the website and overall look and feel of the company seemed shady so I wanted to do as much research as possible before I spent my hard earned money and luckily I decided to checkout the BBB and this company isn’t even accredited and there’s a lot of complaints and reviews saying the same exact things about the company…the units look cool however they’re not working properly or there’s a lot of issues with placing orders or receiving the units on initial purchase and horrible customer service…glad I cam across this video as well. I will not be wasting my money

    I got 1 for a Ram 1500, it came with Jeep pic. Car Link 2.0 sucks, I flew to California, they gave me aP.C. board to fix a Fan issue, 2nd indicator , shuts off fan. Tach & Speedometer display vanished. No operational manual

    I purchased one for my optima.. i have had zero issues with it.. everything works.
    I just brought another for my Cadillac ATS.
    I'm HOPING it's as good.
    I used to install larger car stereo systems, so it wasn't much of a problem for me at all.
    I did have to do that email and Zoom call for the backup camera.. but it was painless.

    Mine has been nothing but a headache had to send back one unit and I am on the second one and still garbage doesn't connect to my Bluetooth Android auto sucks goes black and now they sending me a decoded box a new harness I'm about to put my old unit back

    I bought one looks just like this some years ago mine was working fine until recently all I did was turn my car off & turn it back on the radio has a mind of its own it deleted my radio preset stations I can’t use my gps on the radio anymore it’s telling me connect to the internet I did it still doesn’t work & it switched my time to Chinese time & I can’t change it at all! I contacted the people on the installation paper they said we usually respond 24-48 to message I NEVER GOT A REPLY BACK TO MY EMAIL I can’t even touch my screen to get my car on the screen anymore like before. 😡😡😡😡

    I actually JUST got one yesterday, and found this video for more tips on the installation. I went with an open box item with the added insurance. It took them 3 weeks to get it to my door step. Customer service was all over the place. Email was best, though slow. I did manage to talk to someone on the phone.
    Well, I did most of the install last night and (hopefully finishing up tonight). It didn't come with instructions which isn't a big deal for me given I'm an electrical engineer. The amount of connectors with I/O is just crazy. It's a rat's nest of connectors with some of the leads marked only in Chinese.
    I'll edit this if I find any other concerning issues after tonight.

    I bought one for my 2013 ford edge. I never got all the connections, customer service is through email and takes forever. It was working at first then my climate control wouldn't turn off. 2wks later it was showing that my rear hatch was open. And after 6wks of having it, they sent the missing cable and everything was working properly.

    1. Screen are not bright enough, can't not see in the day time. Not sure if there is 2 protecting films on this deck?
    2. It cut off RUclips regularly due to crash
    3. Wheel button controller didn't work on answer call or other arrow button controls the random part of the deck instead of the dash information

    I been looking at the linkswell xl or the oem 12" screen for my 2020 ram 1500 bighorn. You think going with the factory oem 12" to replace my stock 8.4 is the best option over those andriod tablets?

    Mine seems to work fine , then again mine is for a 2014 silverado , I guess the only issue with mine is sometimes on calls it switches to the unit and not the car speakers, but mine works perfectly, and yes I did have to do some trouble shooting procedures to get it it work but mine works flawlessly I've only ever had 1 issue and it got resolved by myself lol with my backup cam.

    Apx 2 yr's ago I put the same in my 17' Ram 1500 and I have no problems whatsoever. I installed myself and it was super easy basically plug and play. Perhaps I got lucky?

    I’m going on 1 month with mine in a 2010 F150 with Sync1. The only issue I’ve experienced so far is every once in a while CarPlay will cut out if it’s connected USB. If it’s connected wireless I have no issue.

    I'm assuming this is using Ford Sync 3? I know Sync 2 had many of these issues with the OEM units over time and from my understanding the Phoenix system still uses the OEM Sync module. My 2013 with Sync 2 has all of this issues with the OEM unit so I'm guessing if I replace the OEM display with the Phoenix display all of those issues will still be present. I haven't heard of any issues with the Sync 3 units though.

    I have had mine for 2 years and the only problem i had was had to install a small fan on top of the heat sink to cool it better but other than that it works great with a alpine 1500 amp with two type R 12's maybe you just have a bad unit

      Even if its "just" a bad unit tho...nobody wants to jump thru this many hoops to get help and then have to rip the whole thing out, reinstall the old radio, wait for the replacement to come, and do it all over again when you get the replacement. OR if you paid someone to install it, you then have to pay them again. I have one on the way to my house and after watching this I regret ordering it. Makin me nervous >.

    Yep same thing here Ben. Put this aucar unit in my 370z, from the start it wouldn't adapt with my factory canbus. Basically my hvac controls only work when they want too now. Recirculation button shuts off randomly (especially when it's hot out and you need it most). Anyhow, ac button stays stuck on and all the hvac controls go inoperative to the touch, on the soft screen and analog hard controls. Then u shut the car off, let it sit, then everything will work again next key cycle for about 5 min, then same old shit again. They sent me a new hvac board, did NOTHING as predicted. Also, the dimmer function emits a high pitch interference frequency sound from speakers only when u turn on the headlights or parklights, all grounds are good and solid chassis grounds, and dimmer wire is isolated and isnt close to anything to get interference with it. Been dealing with aucar for 2 months via whatsapp only, and all they do is keep tossing guesses at it. Just like you, they want me to pull it all out, send it back, wait a month for the transition process, while I have a huge hole in my dash and no radio, while I wait and (hope) the new one mitigates these issues. They won't send out another until they receive this one back. Really??? They claim they can't trust that I'm gonna send this broken piece of shit back when I receive the new one. Cmon man, why in the hell would I wanna keep this pos? Chinese are very difficult to deal with, especially after they already have your money. If your gonna mass produce a product like this, then you better have the means to back it up and perform properly. It's obvious they do neither. It's phuckin unreal man. 1000 bucks, tossed down the shitter.

    I had the opportunity to watch your video and I had a similar experience with a radio for a BMW X five year 2002. These radios use the Google Store application and when they are installed this company does not pay the rights to Google for the use of this application and when it is disconnected the Internet Google recognizes it and begins to block the radio function Personally I had to request authorization to be able to use this application the radio began to work better but I still made the decision not to connect to the Internet or make updates to this application from then on Later the radio began to work much better

    Your echo on phone calls is caused by two things. One you have to turn off the built-in mic and two you need to install the outboard mic at the center top of your windshield. This is a common issue with these radios. Mic location is a common issue with all aftermarket radios.

    This video confirms my pre-purchase experience with this company. I called today and had some pre-purchase questions, and what I experienced is the phone ringing and ringing, and then somebody answered with all kinds of household background noises. So this is a skeleton business running out of someone’s house, I asked to have some questions answered and the girl talking to me said that I needed to be a purchased customer before I can ask a question. They don’t answer questions until your customer and own the product. So they have no pre-purchase information department, which is ridiculous in this day and age. And now watching these videos, so far, I found two, you can see that it just gets worse from what I experienced through pre-purchase. My questions for pre-purchase were going to be, does this thing get regular updates, second question was going to be how long is the warranty and who takes care of it, and then the third question was, does it stay updated regularly?

      No updates. From my understanding you have to push firmware updates to it, if you want them. I never reinstalled it. Was not happy.

    I have one in my ram 2500 I had the Uconnect 8” and Bluetooth was messing up on it so bought one of these the CarPlay works when it feels like it but really don’t care about it, I just connect it to my hotspot and all the apps work great

    First, I appreciate you sharing your experience with the Phoenix system. Although this video is two years old, your system was running an older Android version compared to today (Ver: 12). I had a wonderful experience with a sales rep (phone) going through every detail that was necessary to get the right unit for my Toyota Tacoma 2023. I can't express enough the outstanding customer service I experienced. That said, many aftermarket car systems are hit and miss, including name brands such as Alpine, Kenwood, or Sony. Not one has a five-star rating. In fact, all of my research indicates that these units either work or don't, and all of the car systems are made overseas. In my opinion, you ended up with a bad unit, and it could happen with any brand. Folks, don't base your decision on one bad experience; give them a chance before trying elsewhere. I highly recommend this system and will advise you to call them to get the right unit for your vehicle. 😎

    I’m a year late, but I’m hoping you have figured out how to update your sync system and got the updated USB plug in front of your gear selector. I have a pre-Apple CarPlay (2016 sport 4x4) and have Apple CarPlay

    I have a 2013 Raptor that came with Sync 2. I upgraded it to a sync 3.4 system with caplay. A very few minor issues but otherwise solid.

      This is a sync 3.0 system. The APIM and other components are taken from a donor vehicle.
      Two notable bugs: The "Dual" selection for the AC/Heat temperature control is inverted. That is, when you select "Duel" on the physical button, it's deselected on the display and vice versa.
      Also, with Apple Car Play active, the temperature indicator does not appear when adjusting the temperature. The volume level appears over car play though.
      Those are the two bugs I've noticed in the time I've been using the system, which is June of 2021.
      I also have a 2017 F150 that came with Sync 3.0 and I've upgraded to sync 3.4. The two systems are identical with the exception of the two bugs I've noticed.
      The person I bought this from on Ebay is Nick. He can add the upgrade from Sync 3.0 to sync 3.4 if desired.

    The experience I am having rn is I bought the first unit for my ram 1500 installed it and it was good but only lasted 2 weeks because when I reset it the screen turned upside down and it wouldn’t fix itself. I thought luckily I bought the warranty for a year so they told me ship it back and they’ll send another well when they sent the replacement the screen had white spots and wouldn’t turn off or it would cut on sometimes. So they sent a third one well I didn’t even get to install it because there was a part that was cracked and to make the shorter they say in order to get a refund after they refused it for a month I’d have to pay a 40% restocking fee which is ridiculous.

      No problem! Yeah.. maybe I got a bad unit. But even the good review I have seen have the same problems I had with the horrid echo in calls and Bluetooth issues.. most people act like it’s no big deal.. I don’t really understand.. phone call quality is a big deal to me.

    I installed the same radio as yours in my 2017 superduty. Never had issues for 3 years, then it would freeze, crash, etc etc then the screen died. Put the factory head unit back in... Guess what, it was the FACTORY UNIT that was crashing. I had all the same issues because my factory unit died.... I mean the screen died die yes, I contacted them and they offered a repair as it was out of warrenty
    I never had issues with phone calls, music playing, I was able to adjust the EQ and it sounded better then my factory head unit. I got the expensive one that's had more ram and a faster processor so perhaps that why I had no issues. The lower model one may lag more because of the lower quality internals.
    As for customer service, they have been amazing for me. I email them, they reply, they offered me discounts if I'd like to buy a whole new model, or just repair my current one.
    I emailed about any questions or confusion I had with the unit and they always got back to me with the exact awnser I was looking for...
    Not sure why some people hate on Pheonix radio so much, iv purchased a few for people and know others with the units in their trucks (Chevy and Ford's so far)
    And not a single complaint from anyo of them!

      Glad your experience has been so good. Keep supporting them if you enjoy they’re product. However my issues are NOT the factory unit. As it’s been reinstalled for over a year with no issues. Also not having a phone number for your customers to call, is NOT good customer service IMO.

    I have a 300 and same issues mines is the 13.3" screen looks kool off, it restarts when it wants to poor sound, im absolutely disappointed. Thanks for the video!

      You have to calibrate it I been putting these in my car personal and vehicles sold I have it in a 98 expedition 05 300 and ordered one 4 my 2012 citadel I've put these in Lincoln and Buick. If you aren't an installer you will have issues also like a tablet you must keep it updated connection to the internet is a must 👌 yes these are plug n play for any thing electronic it must update or you will experience issues.

    I had zero issues with my unit I installed one 5 years ago and sold my truck recently it was working flawlessly however if I had to buy a new aftermarket radio today I would stay away from them the quality isn't worth the money.

    I have watched various review videos and read various reviews online so I’m going to play devils advocate here. For the electrical issues, did you disconnect your truck’s battery before doing any of this? The risk isn’t just totally making it so it won’t work but it can fry tiny things so it won’t work properly, for example I didn’t before doing my wind booster and now my led lights blink and sometimes go out for no reason. Second, for the echo during phone calls, where did you put the mic? The OEM mic is above your head (at least on my truck) to avoid echo during phone calls. I saw one install video where he put it behind the unit in the vehicle dash. I guarantee he either gets echoing or it doesn’t hear him vary well or both.

    I have this unit , that yes!! Looks so cool give your truck a huge up grade...
    I had them in my ram 2014 , in my chevy 1500 2009, in my raptor 2016 and in my honda fit 2009, never had a problem , everithing works great have them for years with no issues and still looking great , I love them.
    Everything i can said is that if you dont install it properly since the beginning you will harm them and obviously they wont work properly , so be careful at the moment you install them.

    Yeah, they have crappy units. I bought one for my Escalade it advertised it would keep all OE functions. Needless to say almost all OE functions stopped working. I ended up not even dealing with the return process. I just bought a 750 dollar unit from another company that actually works. Aucarauto I believe they were called.

    So your saying we shouldn't buy this and just wait for the real deal guys to make theirs like alpine, Sony, pioneer etc those guys. If you don't think that's coming it is just going to take a while longer, as more and more car companies start doing the portrait infotainment systems. I think jeep and ram started coming with those style systems. The audio industry will be forced to do the same. why would you want to go from a 11,12" or 13" screen OEM screen back down to a 8" yes they have bigger screens but those are in landscape and can end up blocking air vents and other things.
