All these decades and Runaway Train is still badass.....all rusty LOL, still a great ride.....always loved that last left turn over the water right before the finish. Hope they never dismantle this, so many childhood (and adult) memories on it.

I agree! Been riding since the late 90s and can't wait to bring my daughter on it. She's turning 1 this October so she has a few years yet to go before she even has a chance of riding. Praying they leave it up just a few more years at least!

Classic steel coaster built in 1974. It is original to the park and not likely to ever be torn down. The Mine Train and the Log Flume are GA signitures. The original owners still own 49% of this place and they want these to stay forever! I ride them each time I go :)

This ride was actually built in 1961. It used to be at a park in utah. Idk which park, but it was relocated to great adventure.
That's great to hear! It's one of my childhood favorites from the 90s and I can't wait to bring my daughter on it in a few years when she gets older. Of course I look forward to the log flume too. May they never shut down!

This ride is so rough it jolts you around everywhere! My head hit my friends (who was sitting next to me) like 3 times😂 I wanted to keep going on it again and again though, it is fun. Definitely not a kids ride though 😂

I rode this ride as a child in 1975, loved it so much my brother and I rode it five times. Wonderful child hood memories of my life spent in New Jersey.

This ride is the best there. It’s classic to the park and it’s so fun it left me laughing and smiling. And yes, it is fast.

Don't think they want to tear down this ride. It's sfgad's runaway mine train. It fits in perfectly with the western themed part of the park and it's a no nonsense "train"er for young coaster riders.

I hate roller coasters but this one wasn’t that bad for me! I loved it I wanted to go on it 5 times so I did!!
I love this coaster. I have rode the looping coasters along with others but the curve around the water and the speed. It really is a runaway train. Fun for everyone to enjoy young and old.
This was my GO-TO roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventures....then I turned 11 and rode Batman and Great American Scream Machine...I was never the same again.

I loved this ride as a kid, and still love it now. It is good for people getting used to coasters, mainly because it is fast, and has a drop.

How does this compare to gold rusher at SFMM?
Just your average Whoopee cushion Gold Rush is much smoother while this is a bit rough. Gold Rush has a much more milder layout while the runaway mine train is more thrilling. In general I think that run away is more better.
Most of th people I see are tourist so they usually walk in huge groups so whenever I get off the mine train I cut through the little path that goes to el toro. I'm surprised not a lot of people take that way

This is the tamest non-kiddie ride. If you think this is bad then you haven’t been on Kingda Ka or Superman The Ride.

I’ve heard bad things about this ride but it wasn’t painful like I’ve heard the ride to be.
I went on this for the first time today and I’ll never go again lol. I don’t do roller coasters but this thing hurt me. On one of the drops I was lifted a little out of the seat and slammed back down my ribs hitting the bar. On one of the turns I was moved so hard I slammed the side of my face Into the person next to me’s shoulder bruising under my eye, and somehow I received a small cut on my wrist. No more!

Joshua Allegretti My friends and I are so mad that it was closed! We did get to go on nitro, batman, and el toro! Also we did go on the mine train! I hope that kingda ka is open by the time I go back!
You did get on El Toro and that is way better than Kingda Ka anyway and Nitro is consistently the best steel coaster there so still sounds like you had a good day! Last I heard is they wanted Zumanjaro open by Memorial Day but I'll be surprised if it is. I try to get there every few weeks so I'm hopeful too!
