If you're terrified by falling and jittering around quickly like other roller coasters can do this is a mild ride for ya.
I hate some roller coasters. I LOVE this ride. Every time I go the Great Adventure in Jackson NJ I get on this ride. I'm 55 years old.
Everybody knows how on a roller coaster they tell ya not to stand up *yes* ok so the restraint is locked down and they tell you not to stand up in my head im like umm i cant is that an option *they say no* well on a log flume you can in fact you can be like well this is boring aa byeee

It's hard to get the full affect when your having to stare at the back of two females heads the whole time
the first time i was in the third set counting towards the back and then the second time i was the 1st one in the front......so fun!!!!!!!!
I love all these people in the comments saying that the ride operator is an ass for telling the girls to put their camera away. As a ride operator at another park, I tell people to put their electronics away all the time. Not because I like to ruin people's day, but because that is park and manufacturer policy and it's my job as a ride operator to enforce park and manufacturer policy. A ride operator's first responsibility is safety and it's unfortunate that many people believe he was telling them to put their camera simply to be an ass not because he was concerned for their safety.

It's next to the Mine Train across the pond from El Toro. You walk right by it on your way to Bizarro.
What I enjoy about this ride, compared to other flume rides, is that there is a very long, relaxing boat ride before the initial drop at the end. So many other parks get you to the plunge too quickly.
Damn, how old is this ride? I went on it when I was 10 and it was old looking then. I'm 50 now!
It was one of the first rides made in the late 70’s.
@@girtisholland It had to be one of the first/new rides of that era because it took my family 3 hours waiting in line. I'm older now and a half hour is the longest I'll wait in line these days. Screw it otherwise..it's not that important.
@@mikeblaz Yeah it was built in the Enchanted Forest, the 3rd section of the park built by the original owner. The two parts opened in 1974 and the Enchanted Forest followed between then and 1977.
I’m in my early 40’s and grew up in Belmar so I’ve always lived close. A bunch of those rides are ancient there. Runaway Train, Lightning Loops, Congo Rapids and Rolling Thunder were originals there too. I’m sure you’d remember them. Some are still there 45 years later.
@@girtisholland I lived in the burbs outside Philly so it was only a 45 min drive. I haven't been there in two decades+. Pretty sure runaway train is still there but I think lightning loops and rolling thunder were torn down...Congo rapids may still be there. I'm old enough to remember when it first opened it was called "Roaring rapids" and the waiting lines was 4hrs+...it was a joke.
That's the same exact Six Flags i went to for a school field trip in Jackson, New Jersey. I was scared about the last drop because the ride had no seatbelts, just bars underneath to hold on to. And I didn't really panic or notice how high up the ride was.
Yippee,water rides are always a great cool down as well as the thrill rides,you must scream,holler,laugh,and shout,now this was fun,do it again,yeah!!!
That ride is so awesome! I was screaming my face off at the last fall when I went in the summer!

Splash Mountain at Disneyland is scarier than this, and has drops quadruple the size. Same goes for Timber Mountain log ride at Knott's.

saga baba It's a log flume; you won't get much out of it. Just a fun family ride, not anything that's huge and spectacular, like Nitro at that park.
Well they have a long flume ride at morey's piers in wildwood NJ. and that has 2 huge ass drops at the end

This ride was built many years ago when that drop at the end WAS huge. Not so much anymore but still a decent ride to relax and cool off.
This is one of my favorite flumes and I rode many. The sheer length of the ride makes it better than most, and you get nice views of the park. A lot of fun.
The only flumes I like better are the Splash Mountains at the two American Disney resorts because of the animation during the rides. Thats not an insult. No one does display quite like Dismeyland and Walt Disney World.

I LOVED this ride! It's A LOT more faster and thrilling in real life. It's so much fun and very thrilling to ride.

I worked Food Service at Best Of The West(which is under the Log Flume) in 1990-91, we used to have to take our garbage over to the Wagon restaurant by the final hill several times a shift , while hosing the cart out I got the bright idea to start spraying the people on the ride(I at least made sure I didn't used water that was too hot or too cold). Did it until security told me to knock it off, and even then me and my spotter would just keep an eye out for them.

The one at Great Escape is called "Desperado Plunge" It's pretty awesome, but this one beats it just a little

I think that this is the best log flume in the world. It is fast and fun and you get very wet!

Actually, I have seen a ride being stopped because someone refuse to put their camera away.
