      Arrow built quite a few of these flume rides, and some of them were damned impressive. Check out the RUclips videos of Logger's Run and/or Yankee Clipper at Six Flags Great America. Growing up north of Chicago, that was my home park, and when it opened in 1976 those two qualified as major thrill rides. (There were only two roller coasters then, and by modern standards they were rather small and tame.) At 7 years old, I was too little for one of those coasters, but those flume rides felt absolutely insane. And you were guaranteed to get absolutely soaked, which was not a bad thing in hot Illinois summers.

    It’s adorable listening to the kids conversation on the ride. Clearest video - felt like I was in the boat with you. Thanks.
    Just before the big drop, I remember those saw mill workers moving - machines running. Last time I rode this was more than 10 years ago.

    Thank you for posting/sharing your video of The Desperado plunge. My family and I visited Lake George NY, back during the Summer of 1980. At that time, the park was known as Storytown USA. Also during that period. The Desperado Plunge was the main attraction! The lines were very long! But worth it! I am so happy the ride is still going strong. It has earned it’s place in Lake George Amusement Park History. The ride is a perfect fit for the park. Again, thank you for sharing your excellent video!

    I rode this every year with my dad. My family's been going to the Great Escape since LONG before it was bought and went all "commercial" (downhill). It's sad to see what's become of it. Faded, worn, and the mill workers at the end don't even move anymore. Who buys a place like this and just lets it go to shit? 🙁

    • @RelaxingReality
      @RelaxingReality  2 года назад +1

      This ride has been updated more recently with the mill workers working. But I agree, it’s pretty worn down. You can check it out in a video I filmed last summer here: ruclips.net/video/-UKS3VaqkFc/видео.html

    I remember riding this when I was a kid. I use to love this ride. I look at this water and think " have they been filtering the water or been cleaning the floom that the boat rides in. Look at the blue sides they are disgusting. The ride needs some TLC sad to see that. Wish they would take more care of it.

      Crow Migration Nightmare is used for a haunted house during fright fest, while the other half is a maintenance shop. The other stuff surrounding it is theming.

    Flume rides are fun, but there's nothing nice to look at on the way on this one. Get 'em on. Get 'em in. Get 'em wet. The Pittsburgh Plunge at Kennywood Park is much better. Shorter but better.
