Freaking sweet! Wondering if you could somehow add a "starter" motor to give it a boost so you don't have to manually. Maybe somehow mount a gear to a one way bearing? Probably add more weight and resistance than its worth though...
How can you even see it at that speed? amazing, just amazing. I get worried with a 25mph closing speed let alone warp speed like this. So glad you filmed it and posted for all to see. Am going to subscribe 👍🍺.
That’s an awesome run! I just ordered at TP power motor 4050cm 3190kv with a xlx2 esc for my erevo 2.0. You think I’m overdoing it on the kv rating? Also using 2 traxxas 5000mah 3 cell 25C lipos
Fantastic - love your videos! I finally received my Castle XLX2 and the 2028 1100 - and while waiting I got a TP5870 1200 kv. Do you think the XLX2 can feed that motor with enough amps without cutting out? They still does not recommend on Castle’s website to use +56 TP motors with their XLX2. Stay safe 😀
I think you can use TP Motors...you just have to make sure they're Y-wind motors and not D-wind. The Castle ESCs can't handle the D-wind motors for some reason. TP has charts with which motors are Y or D. Its the first column on the chart under "T" (for timing I guess). You just have to pick from the ones that are 2Y, 3Y, 4Y etc..
@@george91871 Thanks George - I found out about the Y and D issue with XLX2 after buying the TP motor - and it is a 5D motor :-) So I am wondering which ESC would be better to use for that motor?. I have a 300A ZTW pro beast on the way, and another alternative could be a Hobbywing Max5 that I already have which is a 200A - however I did not pay attention to the huge amount of amps that this particular 5870 5D motor actually consumes. So I am just looking for some advice, trying to avoid a melt down.
@@alexbirkenfeldt1566 I don't have much experience using this level of power but I seen some people who do and I watch their setups very close. Noticed a LHS owner in my area had one of these ESCs (see below) in one of his cars. He was running 16S. I'd do more research on the company though. He also was using MaxAmps lipos (www.maxamps.com) and QS10 connectors. The ESC site is www.fliermodel.com. They seem to specialize in high power ESCs for cars, boats, etc.
@@george91871 I did look at Flier too - those are 400 amps - and huge - I guess I could do the trial and error way, starting low on voltage (4S or 6S) and conservative gearing (1:1) and then monitor temps closely. There should be an update on the way from Castle that allows D-wind motors and large can TP - however I am not sure what they will do besides build in limitations perhaps to avoid overheating. Thanks again George.
@@alexbirkenfeldt1566 We all are learning I guess. I'm in the process of switching from Spektrum to Castle. Everything is trial and error. Spektrum turned out to be an error for me. Problem with trial and error is that it can get costly. LOL But that's what makes it more fun as well. Good Luck!!!
Leopard motors perform like hobbywing and castle motors. High efficiency and torque, but not aggressive as TP. Of course variables of that depend on your setup and trigger pulls.
Thanks man! And great job taking steps up. Biggest thing I'd recommend is finding a road worthy of 150 mph. Need to stay consistent with the throttle too

It's built just for my road! It will go straight every time. It isn't built by recommendations, because who else is running my road? Set your car up for your road, not for what others will say that'll make you fast.
Hi everyone. Can you please help me to understand the Kv on brushless motors? I would like to turn a monster truck (E-Revo) in to a fast speed run. SO, is it better a 2800Kv sensored or sensorless, or a 1900 Kv sensored or sensorless?? My understanding is that the 1900 will be faster but the 2800 will have more torque, so that I can achieve speed with larger gears. Is that right? many thanks
Opposite way around kv is like rpm. Rpm per volt. That's what k means 1000. V means volt. So 1000 rpm per volt. Higher kv more rpm and less torque. But more torque allows higher gearing. You can be fast with either. For a 6s setup I'd go 2800kv and 8s setup the 1900kv
Why switch from the Castle to the TP? Just curious. I went with a Castle setup in my Limitless speed build after watching these and now you're switching...
