Your playing is divine. I especially noticed how you created a small bed of grass to place the spare bansuri. This shows that you have embodied the Indian tradition of respecting their instruments like offerings to God.
Enchanting music, played by Virginia and Igino, two musicians who know the meaning and smell of Grace. Ciao, a presto!

+PeterDad60 I too play bamboo flute. It was a gift to me back in college a long time ago in 1970. It had a few cracks so I used wax and thread string to stop the air leaks and to bind the bottom end to prevent more damage. The kids in school all thought it was a hashish pipe and that's how they used it. I took one good look at the opening where they had aluminum foil and hashish and said this is a flute. The opening was a hole formed into a mouth-piece. It also had six additional holes placed at fixed distances that indicated to me that they were holes to make pitch changes. The owner said go ahead and play it. Well it took over an half hour for me to get my embouchure correct and the right amount of air and also the correct angle. I was turning blue for a while! Eventually the flute came to life and there was music floating in the air. She was so happy that she gave the instrument to me. I have it now 46 years later and it still plays well. I also play other Indian instruments such as sitar, veena, sarod and sarangi. I played my sarod today. Right now I am playing along in the sitar playing style of using only two fingers, one for going up the neck and the other finger when coming down the neck upon my hollowbody electric guitar think Gibson ES-335 style. My father gave me my sitar and tampura and tablas around the same time as i was gifted my bamboo flute back in the 1970's. Since that time I have purchased many world instruments. I like playing upon them and they help me to understand different peoples music and culture.

No pride in where one comes from is the short answer! Colonial hangover is a more complex issue. Lack of 1 India/ 1 nation state is the bigger factor.
