Beautiful. My morning starts with this as i sit in my balcony with my morning cup of tea, the smell of incense sticks. It reminds me our house near the Ganges in calcutta. My mother after taking her shower, used to water the tulsi plant in our aangan, light diya and agarbatti. The towel still tied in het hair. The smell of the clay oven in the morning and our cook is busy making tea and loochi torkari for breakfast. I used to sit with my grandmom by the side of the river and watch the boat slowly sail by. All these memories rush into my mind as i sit in my balcony in Vancouver and listen to raag bhairavi..as i quitely sip my tea away.

I salute the soul of the unknown 18th century musical genius who created this raga by mixing two traditional ragas Bhairav and Kafi. Later on, some other varieties of Bhairav were also created, but Ahir Bhairav has gone miles ahead of all of them as well as original Bhairav in popularity. Bhairav is an extremely serious raga more suited for devotional purposes, but Ahir Bhairav's nature is more secular with a gentle pathos and sweetness, which this performance captures fully.

Music is good when it arouses an emotion or a mood within you. it's not necessarily about being melodic or overtly musical, but about carrying the listener somewhere where he was not before. In this case, I feel like sitting on a park bench by a warm evening. the wind gently caresses my face, and everything is silent except for the nature around me. It is interesting that I mention that it evokes the silence when I speak of this kind of music.

for permanently healing migraine do these things.
1> Join yoga class and practice for lifetime as you get time. specially do bhramari pranayam.
2> Do OM humming deep and long, you should feel vibration in your mind and body.
3> Cut electrical and electronic devices from your life as much as you can.
4> Cut Television (TV) from you life.
5> Visit places where there is no one around. LIke jungles, or dense parks etc. remember there should be no human sound. then just sit for hours and close eyes and meditate. or listen to jungle sound.
6> take ayurvedic herbs treatment for migraine for atleast 6 months continously.
7> follow these for 6 months and your migraine will be gone permanently.
8> remember not to take stress. leave behind all which are giving you stress. stay away from them.
9> buy a flute, sitar, or any ancient musical instrument and learn and play music. don't play guitar etc. you can also do drumming.
I had 10 years old migraine and I cured it in just 3 months by following these steps.
Thanks and have a great day.

Beautiful music. Makes me heartsick for India again. And the images are beautiful. There are two thousand years of history in this piece. The landscapes of the country traverse through the heart. Tigers in valleys and chitals in the glades. Gawalas on village roads carrying early morning milk to people. Buffalos and cows. Wah Madhusudan.

True...there is something of deeply soulful about India, our music and landscapes that cannot be found anywhere in the world. Yes the younger generations are hypnotized by Western culture vand materialistic restlessness, but for those who seek the true beauty of India, she is a generous and loving mother; she gives unconditionally. Seek with an open heart and look beyond the surface. India is eternally beautiful.

I wish that I do not wish any thing at the time of death, none to be done or nor undone after that by anybody. But, if asked , I would say to play such music and remember the beauty and vastness of the Prakruti and the Karta of the Prakruti. I did not know about or name of Shri D. Madhusudan ji. A beautiful piece of music. Very calm, still, and tranquil sounding. The notes of this raga correspond to the Mixolydian b2 scale in Western music (1 b2 3 4 5 6 b7).

Is there music as powerful and as healing (or can worsen symptoms) as Raga's in Western music? I have tried Mozart Bach etc.. which I love, but not felt as strong healing as from Raga music. I know nothingof music btw...I do listen to classical and opera, but not felt a "healing" effect

Waking up to greet another day. Another opportunity to grow and build my character. These soundwaves help my mind to stay centered. The focused intention of the flutist is carried through the vibrations themselves, landing carefully on my eardrums, flooding the senses with warmth and energy. Deep breaths and remember The Infinite.

The fact that opening to this work glides so easily in 5/4 is astounding enough--but that the accented beats are 1, 2 and 5 is simply impossible to comprehend. It seems those of us in the West have lost all sense of the diversity of music, not only tonally but rhythmically.

      this jhaptal with 10 beats.
although initially might sound intimidating is not as challenging.
in my opinion the odd beats taals like 11 beat and 7 beat are the harder ones.
and there are the ones that are certain beats and a half beat like 9.5.
i cant even absorb them while listening to them.
